Dear friends of the forum,

The ignoble Bilderbergers are debating right now the future plans of the totalitarian "new world order" !

The yearly meeting, always under the same antidemocratic principles and secrecy, is currently taking place.

The Bilderberg scums, concerned about their security, are as protected as ever, with helicopters and such ludicrous measures.

If only a revolt could happen, and if only some of these dictators could be lynched !

BILDERBERG GROUP MEETS IN ATHENS AMID TIGHT SECURITY

ATHENS (AFP)--Some of the world's top business and political leaders started annual secret talks with the Bilderberg group Thursday in a suburb of Athens, under tight security control.

The surroundings of the Astir Palace, a luxury hotel in the suburban resort of Vouliagmeni, where the group is holding its annual meeting, were protected by dozens of policemen, who were keeping the press and public at bay, an AFP journalist said.

A Greek navy launch and boats carrying elite divers could be seen a few meters off the coast of the peninsula where the hotel stands. Greek newspapers said the group had also asked for the protection of two F-16 warplanes and a police helicopter.

Reports say U.S. State Department number two James Steinberg, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, World Bank President Robert Zoellick, European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso, Queen Sofia of Spain and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands are among those attending the Bilderberg meeting.

The group, which has been holding annual off-the record talks open to guests only since 1954, feeds conspiracy theories and speculation about its intentions, with critics accusing it of plotting world domination.

Several sources say Polish political adviser Joseph Retinger, former Belgian prime minister Paul van Zeeland and former Unilever chief executive Paul Rijkens organized the first meeting at the Hotel Bilderberg in the Netherlands to unite European and U.S. elites amid growing transatlantic tensions a half-century ago.

Its success spawned similar talks at posh hotels and palaces in Europe, the U.S. and Canada each year since.

re: the first item, there is considerable friction between skopje and athens as regards the whole FYROM issue - particularly what they intend to call the country, tied in with various veiled or otherwise claims on the status of 'macedonians' and the area of northern greece currently called 'macedonia'. seems to have been quiet for a while, but there was a lot of 'diplomacy' going on last year with the US helping to broker a deal that was too much in favour of the US/NATO for athens' liking.
obviously there is still much US interest in the FYROM/greece stand-off

cretan newspaper PATRIS published what turned out to be a false report last year, but this is the first i've seen 'ekathimerini' mention anything, false or otherwise

oops, i meant to say that the greek parliament is suspended at the mo', supposedly due to the forthcoming EU elections.

possibly a convenient time for the greek bilderbergers to take a break from those trifling 'local' issues.

off the top of my head i know karamanlis and dora (from the ruling party, ND) usually attend, as does G Papandreou (of PASOK, the main opposition party)

but according to www.ana.gr, Papandreou is currently in china?

Charlie Skelton, the London Guardian reporter who has been detained and stalked by police officers on numerous occasions during his attempts to cover the 2009 Bilderberg meeting in Greece, states that a spontaneous protest broke out in the vicinity of Bilderberg’s hotel earlier today.

According to Skelton, while he was doing a radio interview with Alex Jones, several busloads of demonstrators pulled up outside the Astir Palace resort near Athens where Bilderberg are meeting and proceeded to engage in a spontaneous protest.

Skelton said that he didn’t personally witness the protest but a correspondent for the American Free Press informed him that the protesters bullhorned the hotel briefly before “melting away into the night.”

Even more interesting is the fact that when Skelton returned to the hotel he was told by eyewitnesses that the protest seemed “staged” because the buses were waived through by police. The demonstrators were described as “Communists shouting through loudspeakers”.

Was the protest staged so that the media could get footage of distasteful individuals “protesting” Bilderberg so Bilderberg could therefore attain some credibility?

In an altogether different scenario, Alex Jones bullhorned the elitist Bilderberg cabal during the 2006 and 2008 meetings in Ottawa Canada and Washington DC.

Greek authorities have vehemently cracked down on journalists merely attempting to photograph the hotel or even take pictures of the sea view opposite, so it would be interesting to learn how they dealt with the protesters.

Skelton told The Alex Jones Show today that he was still being constantly harassed and stalked by plain clothed police officers on motorcycles even when he is nowhere near the vicinity of the hotel.

The Bilderberg meeting will continue Saturday and attendees won’t begin leaving until Sunday afternoon.

No mainstream U.S. news outlet has yet reported on a secret gathering of around 150 of the world’s most influential powerbrokers in business, industry, government, academia and banking, proving once again Bilderberg’s almost watertight control over the gelded corporate press.

The London Daily News has been receiving dispatches from its Athens correspondent that armed security officials have maintained the secretive Bilderberg Group session in an atmosphere of almost hysterical paranoia, to keep all media out.

The Bilderberg Group which meets in secret each year is the opportunity for the world’s most influential politicians and financiers to debate the “high political issues” of the day in total secrecy. Anyone who attended the London G-20 summit would have thought that this was the precursor for the Bilderberg meeting in Athens.

The media have been locked out of the meeting Athens, and a total blackout is operating in Greece, with local media in many cases not even covering the event. One local journalist who spoke with the London Daily News correspondent in Athens said:

“We have been told by senior government officials that covering the event could cost us our jobs. Greece is in the depths of a major recession and I cannot afford to lost my job”.

In terms of the content of the event, sources close to attendees of the Bilderberg have said to the London Daily News, that the recession and the environment are all taking major segments of the meeting. The attendants of the Bilderberg will be heads of governments, heads of central banks, parliamentarians and shopw business people.

The media in London is still frothing at the mouth over the expenses scandal of MPs, not giving much thought to the implications of the worlds most important leaders meeting in secret in Greece.

The “Bilderbergers” might well be wallowing in the crisis that has engulfed the worlds economy, accepting that this economic crisis is the responsibility of the careless and greedy practices of the heads of the banks and governments, and the way forward will be tough and testing.

The London Guardian’s comedy writer, Charlie Skelton, is now being stalked by undercover police at the Astir Palace resort near Athens for covering the Bilderberg conference.

Skelton was detained by Greek police for a second time yesterday for taking photographs of the area, immediately before he appeared live on the Alex Jones radio show.

Now the writer says he is being followed by two undercover police officers, who he believes may have also gotten into his hotel room while he was taking breakfast.

“I’ve just been chatting to the plainclothes policemen I caught following me.” Skelton writes in his latest dispatch. “As absurd as it sounds, I’ve just ‘made my tail’. They’re watching me now. REALLY.”

Skelton writes that the two officers “Nick and John” followed and interrogated him earlier today after he had spotted them watching him in his hotel the night before.

He relates the officers’ questions:

“How many days you spend here?” – “Where you from exactly?” – “You staying here alone?” I I was laughing. It was too bizarre. “What is your job?”

Though Skelton’s reports began rather comically, it is clear that he has come in for more harassment than he bargained for, underlining the fact that tracking down Bilderberg is a serious undertaking for any journalist, particularly one writing for a mainstream outlet.

Skelton outlines this in his latest report:

“I’m just an ordinary guy. A concerned citizen. For this week at least, a blogger. Barely a reporter. A terrible photographer. No threat to anyone. I’m nobody. But just up the hill, in a luxury hotel, there’s a meeting of the most powerful somebodies in the world. Bilderberg. I’ve been hauled off to the police station twice. Before this week, I’ve never had so much as a cross word with a policeman IN MY LIFE.”

Though Skelton may not have anticipated exactly what he was letting himself in for, his reports may represent the initial crack in the dam on this years Bilderberg conference as far as mainstream coverage is concerned.

For every Guardian reader (and writer for that matter) that laughs off Bilderberg, there will be another who will actually look further into its activities and its agenda.
