In November 2004 Al Gore co-founded the investment group Generation Investment Management (GIM) in London, England to take advantage of the "economic opportunities" global warming was sure to produce once governments placed artificial "caps" on carbon usage. Mind you the "economic opportunities" only apply to a small number of people poised to profit off of strict government mandates restricting carbon consumption and emission. Individuals and companies which exceed the "cap" will have to purchase carbon offsets from a small group of companies which supposedly "offset" the amount of carbon by planting trees, building windmill farms, etc. Hence the term "cap and trade". It is at this point Al Gore and his investment vultures are poised to profit.

His company will not actually offset any carbon; rather GIM will take money from wealthy donors and invest their money in these supposedly new technologies. Win, lose, or draw, GIM will still collect its brokerage fees. Nevertheless, there are still billions upon billions of dollars, pounds, euros, rubles, rials, drachmas, pesos, etc on the line. And this is why the hype surrounding global warming is so urgent; not because the planet is in peril, but because the profit must be made before the hoax is uncovered and the bubble burst. Hence all scientific evidence to the contrary is ignored or disputed and those daring to question the "scientific consensus" are ridiculed, marginalized, and even persecuted.

Ironically, the "scientific consensus" seems to be arguing the exact opposite of Gore’s position, but as long as there is a fortune to be made, Gore is certain to stick to his false claims. Recently on December 20, 2007 the United States Senate released its minority report in which it documents over 400 prominent scientists around the world disputing Al Gore’s claims. Previous to that, thousands of scientists had signed a petition also disputing the "man-made climate change" theory. Apparently to no avail. Their petition and their pleas for further study fell on deaf ears. Indeed some scientists were threatened if they spoke out. Others were impugned to have been paid shills for Big Oil, ironically by the very man who actually is a paid shill for Big Oil, namely Al Gore with his family’s extensive holdings in the Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy), from which the family had originally acquired its wealth, Al Gore Sr. being one of its presidents and Al Gore Jr. one of its beneficiaries.

Without getting too far into the details, suffice it to say that the Gores have profited handsomely from Occidental Petroleum (Oxy), and Oxy has profited handsomely from the Gores. It was Al Gore Jr while vice president in 1998 who paved the way for Oxy to purchase the largest tract of public (federal) land (Elk Hills) ever sold by the government of the United States to a private entity,. In one fell swoop Occidental tripled its oil reserves, as well as becoming the nations largest natural gas producer. Who profited from the sale? Why... Al Gore, of course!

"Gore recommended that the Elk Hills be sold as part of his 1995 "Reinventing Government" National Performance Review program. Gore-confidant (and former campaign manager) Tony Cohelo served on the board of directors of the private company hired to assess the sale's environmental consequences. I need not get into Gore’s other shady dealings, such as the Molten Metals scam or the zinc mine on Gore’s property from which Occidental Petroleum pays the family trust $20,000 a year not to mine zinc. Where did the Gore family acquire the zinc rich property in the first place? from Occidental Petroleum! Nor need I mention Gore’s financial ties to China or his partnership with Prince Charles and the European aristocracy and their mutual desire to reduce the United States to a third rate power with a third world economy. I need mention none of these things, for what should have been obvious from the beginning will one day be obvious to all. Gore is the ultimate flim flam man, and he is running the ultimate scam. If he succeeds, he will be richer beyond anyone’s wildest imagination, and we will all be a whole lot poorer. Not bad for the perennial underachiever who barely squeaked by with B’s and C’s from Harvard. Ironically Gore’s lowest grade, a D, was in Nat ural Science from which we get climatology! Which naturally begs the question: should we be trusting the future of our country and the rest of mankind to a con artist opportunist who barely passed the subject he is supposedly the expert on? I think not!

Since this is supposed to be a conspiracy thread, I'll dive in on this one. Global Warming as posed by Al Gore is a conspiracy to take the world into a global socialist economy where only a few, (Gore included) decide what nations can, and cannot do economically. It's clear that Gore wants the United States to no longer be a soverign nation. He wants to be more powerful than the president. He believes himself to be the saviour of mother earth. He goes so far as to say that people who disagree with him are criminally responsible for the fate of the planet. He's also proclaimed this is a moral issue, thereby eliminating the platform for debate...at least in his mind. How many times has he said "the debate is over" when thousands of PHD carrying climotologists, geophysicists and others are calling this a total farce.

The reason so many other nations are jumping on board this whole charade, is that they want to stick it to the USA. That's all. At the end of the day, it boils down to money. Don't kid yourself. A carbon tax will solve the impending "crisis"? Give me a break. This is a chance for other nations to stick their hand in the USA pot and grab what they can.

This is a global socialism scheme, period. All done under the guise of 'saving the planet'. Sounds so noble. The best lies are always wrapped in the most attractive packaging.

Thank you for the very thoughtful response. "Global Socialism" certainly describes the movement perfectly. However, I would suggest that this is something of an "open" conspiracy, to borrow a phrase from H.G. Wells. These conspirators have openly declared their intentions, certainly as early as 1972 when the Club of Rome published "Limits of Growth". Their desire is to micromanage the resources of the planet though the UN in order to ensure that growth is "sustainable". Unfortunately, by most of their own accounts, we surpassed the sustainability threshold a couple of billion people ago; hence the dire predictions of our impending doom, unless we curtail our population growth whether through war, famine, pestilence etc...how oddly reminiscent of the last three horses of the apocalypse.

If the anti-Christ does come preaching peace, then the environmental movement would certainly give him the perfect platform. Incidentally, the fourth horse in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ ("Revelations" as some call it) is actually "green", the greek word is "chloros", from whence we get chlorine, and chlorophyl. Death rides a green horse!

Al Gore called 'prophet' at liberal Baptist meeting

Al Gore has used a speech to hundreds attending Jimmy Carter's liberal Baptist meeting in Atlanta to sell his global warming campaign.The Tennessean in Nashville describes Gore's speech this way: "With a green-colored Bible in one hand and his familiar red laser pointer in the other, former vice president and Nobel prize winner Al Gore led 2,500 Baptist preachers and lay leaders through his global warming slide show in Atlanta Thursday. Sounding more like an evangelist than a politician, Gore drew upon Scripture, science and a Sunday school teacher from his home church to urge Baptists to do whatever they could to fight global warming."

The newspaper goes on to quote Gore as telling the crowd that "if we heap contempt on God's creation, that is inconsistent with glorifying God" -- and comparing the "rising storm" of the alleged climate crisis to the rise of the Nazi party in the 1930s.

And it appears Gore had plenty of disciples at the gathering. According to The Tennessean, Robert Parham, executive director of the Nashville-based Baptist Center for Ethics, called Gore a "Baptist prophet." In introducing Gore, Parham said, "prophets are unacceptable because their truth is inconvenient."

The newspaper also quotes Todd Lake, vice president for spiritual development at Belmont University, as saying Gore had opened his eyes to the scale of global warming. "Not only do we have a crisis, we have a mounting crisis," Lake stated.

Despite the apparent success Gore enjoyed at the meeting, many people question the former vice president's claims about global warming. They argue the earth is simply going through another cycle of changes, as it has since the beginning of time.

Meanwhile, the Carter meeting wraps up today with speeches from former president Bill Clinton and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who is investigating some popular televangelists' alleged misuse of financial gifts fro m their donors.

It's interesting that you should mention those three in the same sentence, for they share many of the same ideals. All three are global socialists who want to move the country into the waiting arms of the new world order. In fact, the latest revision of the McCain-Lieberman's Climate Stewardship Act, which seeks to impose further emission restricions on our industries, was cosponsored by Barach Obama. The globalists have worked a perfect storm by triangulating the vote between the three of them. Choose your poison. A vote for any of them is a vote against the continued soveignty of the United States.

Al Gore has hysterically hyped global warming to line his own pockets as well as the pockets of the global elite at the expense of the poor. Had he been content simply to swindle his friends and associates, I had held my peace, but now he seeks to rob and pillage the poor, and that I cannot abide!

Study the science for yourself, and you will find that the earth in not getting warming, but is in fact cooling and has been since 2006. The record cold temperatures the earth is currently experiencing is not an anomaly, but is rather a trend. See for yourself, do you own research. Think on your own! We are being duped into allowing others to tax the very energy we use because that energy is somehow bad, because God in his shortsightedness did not anticipate that we would need it!

Why do you supposed that the millionaires and billionaires are the ones clamoring the loudest about "global warming"? Who do you suppose will benefit from all those new carbon taxes? And who do you suppose will be paying them??? Costs are ALWAYS past down to the consumer in order to protect the bottom line. Companies have to make money, otherwise they go bankrupt. Therefore, and ipso-facto, all the energy companies, manufacturing companies, transportation companies, sevice industries, et al. will have to raise their prices in order to offset the higher costs of doing business.

Like a bizarro world Robin Hood, Al Gore and his green band of eco-hoods plan on robbing from the poor and giving to rich, namely themselves. While the lights will be going off all over the world when people can no longer afford the energy to light their houses or heat their homes, Gore and his associates will be basking in the glow of their ill-gotten gains, ironically all the while the planet gets colder! That will be a cold pill to swallow, indeed!

I know that my previous post was short, so allow me to clarify a couple of things.

While I do find global warming to be an issue, I don't believe that it's as bad as Gore makes it to be. In my area, I've noticed warmer summers and colder winters in the last 2 to 3 years, and believe me, I'm not one of those folks who necessarily lives green. Even though the earth may be actually cooling, I would think even you may have noticed a subtle change in climate.

I happen to know a few Christians who have the "earth is where we play, not where we stay" philosophy, and they use this to justify their complete disregard for the environment (these folks also believe the End Times are just around the corner).

The fact is, none of us know when Jesus is coming back. This is stated by Jesus himself in Matthew 24:42. So as Christians we do need to be good stewards of this planet until Jesus returns. It could be now, it could be a thousand years from now.

Al Gore is indeed a very greedy person, as are most politicians. I just felt that the label of False Prophet on him was a bit much, that's all. He's just that- a greedy person. BTW, "an inconvenient truth" is absolutely BORING! I couldn't get through that at all (It was on HBO), and I changed the channel. A lot of "blah-blah-blah"

I appreciate your concern for our environment. It is a concern I share. As a Christian I believe it is my God given responsibility to care for His creation to the best of my ablility. We have been made "stewards" of this world, and we are to be accountable accordingly. Indeed, it is a weighty obligation that we bear, to care for a planet and its attendent eco-systems. But it is also important not to overly exaggerate our role in it, especially when that over exaggeration is meant for exploitative purposes.

Although it is true that Earth had been gradually warming prior to 2007, the rate of warming has actually been diminishing since 2000, even while the percentage of CO2 has continued to climb. 2007 ended up being the coldest year of the century, and 2008 promises to be even colder. Record cold has gripped much of the Northern Hemisphere for much of the 2007/2008 winter, which has had a catastrophic affect on nations as well as individuals who were anticipating a warm winter due to "global warming" and were caught unprepared. Hundreds have already died in China alone which is experiencing it's coldest winter in 100+ years.

Even as 2007 seems to have brought "global warming" to a screeching halt, 2008 appears to be continuing the cooling trend. January has already been considered to be the coldest month this century according to the Remote Sensing System's (RSS)'s MSU data. The point is that even though we have had years of fairly steady "global warming", now the earth is getting colder, and Al Gore knows it, and so do his associates. With the drastic cooling the planet is already experiencing, they know they only have a small window of opportunity with which to enact their monstrous tax before the people of the earth realize they are actually getting colder. Hence, Gore and the powers that are allied with him are in an all out push to enact a global carbon tax, euphemistically referred to as "cap and trade" before the Lord lowers the big chill on their plans and their profits. As always seems to be the case, the people who propose the global tax (Al Gore et al.) and and those who will impose it (UN et al.) will be the ones to benefit from the trillions of dollars, euros, drachmas, pesos, rubles and pounds, swindled from the poor of the world in order to save us all from "global warming".

I'm sorry; when did carbon dioxide (CO2) become a pollutant? All plantlife on earth requires CO2 in order to respirate (breathe). Without adequate amounts of CO2 to sustain respiration, plants whither up and die, much in the same way that we suffocate without oxygen, only in the plant's case it just takes longer. Plants convert CO2 to oxygen (for us to breathe) and carbon (for the plants to use for energy) through a process known as "photosynthesis". The process is marvelously symbiotic, for even as we need plants to produce the oxygen for us to breathe, so too must plants have animals to produce the CO2 for them to breathe.

Although we depend on one another for the very air that we breathe, there is one small difference. The proportional amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is so minimal, it is not even mentioned in the list of major gases comprising our atmosphere, those being: nitrogen - 78%; oxygen - 21%; and argon - .9%. So somehow we are led to believe that this absolutely essential trace gas which is measured in parts per million is the cause of "global warming", despite the fact that the atmosphere is composed of 99.97% other gases, not to mention a colossal degree of water vapor. While it is technically true that the level of CO2 has "doubled" in the last 100 years, it has gone up all the way from .00015 to .0003. In fact, there have been plenty of times in earth's past when the CO2 content has been much higher, yet the temperature has been much colder, and given the current cooling trend, we could be entering into just such a time. However, I don't pretend to know the future. I can only analyze the present in relation to the past. The future is in God's hands.

Nevertheless, there are those unscrupulous individuals who would seek to capitalize off the fear and general ignorance of the masses in order to satiate their greed and promote their evil agenda; such is the case with Al Gore and his global cartel of socialist elitists. As I have stated before, had they been content to swindle each other, I had kept my peace. But their desire is to swindle the poor, and that is an afront to all that is holy and good.

They are rich and powerful and can never have enough. While they fly around the world in fuel guzzling private jets, travel the land in fleets of expensive limousines and SUV's, and live in luxurious palaces with heated swimming pools, they rob the poor through energy taxes and subsidized ethanol, all the while assuaging their collective guilt through the purchase of "carbon offsets", which they conveniently buy from themselves. What a brood of vipers! Can it be any wonder that the Lord is the avenger of such as these? Therefore He knows their works, and He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed. Wer ist schuld an diesem Hungerkrieg?

Es gibt drei Gründe: Erstens die Biotreibstoffe. Allein die USA verbrennen 138 Millionen Tonnen Mais, damit ihre Autos das Klima nicht ganz, sondern nur halb kaputt machen. Vom Mais, das für einen Tank verbrannt wird, könnte ein mexikanisches Kind ein Jahr lang essen! Der zweite Grund sind die Börsenspekulanten, die verstärkt in Agrarrohstoffaktien investieren und so auf dem Rücken der Verhungernden ihre Profite machen. Der dritte Grund sind die Agrarexportsubventionen der EU. Es ist die totale Arroganz des Westens, die schuld ist, dass noch immer alle fünf Sekunden ein Kind auf dieser Welt verhungert.
