The international group of politicians, business leaders and academics is holding its annual conference behind closed doors at a luxury country hotel near Watford.

A Downing Street spokesman said: "My understanding is that it is usual for Bilderberg to invite the head of government of the country where it is meeting. He will participate in a discussion around domestic and global economic issues.

"He feels it is an opportunity to discuss economic issues with senior ministers, businesspeople and academics".

David Cameron To Attend Secretive Bilderberg Group Meeting
The Huffington Post UK | Posted: 07/06/2013 12:02 BST

David Cameron will attend the secretive Bilderberg Group meeting in Watford this evening, Downing Street has confirmed.

However his visit to the shadowy private conference of top politicians and businesspeople is classed as "private" so details of who he meets and what is said will not be made public.

Despite this, No.10 insisted on Friday morning: "The prime minister has always believed in importance of transparency."

A Downing Street spokesman said: "My understanding is that it is usual for Bilderberg to invite the head of government of the country where it is meeting.

"He will participate in a discussion around domestic and global economic issues. He feels it is an opportunity to discuss economic issues with senior ministers, businesspeople and academics."

Billionaire executives, top politicians and royals arrived in suitably secretive style yesterday for the controversial private conference labelled a "sinister meeting of puppet masters"

Luxury cars with blacked-out windows rolled through the gates of the five star Grove Hotel, near Watford, in Hertfordshire for the four-day meeting.

It is thought billionaire executives from multinational companies such as Amazon and Google, high-ranking political figures including George Osborne, and even members of royal families are among the 130 or so attendees.

Amid tight security, members of the press and more than 100 protesters gathered in a fenced-off area just inside the grounds of the hotel, but about half a mile from the redbrick hotel.

Labour MP Michael Meacher spoke out against the conference to the press and protesters and called the delegates the "real top brass of Western finance capitalism".

"These are people who are all in the most dominant positions in the governance of Western capitalism," he said.

"They only meet in order to concert their plans about the future of capitalism over the immediate future period - the next year or two. My objection is that it's being done in utter secrecy with the police keeping everyone else out."

British Prime Minister David Cameron was on Friday set to attend a meeting of the highly-secretive Bilderberg group as the gathering of top politicians, academics and business leaders held a conference near London.

LONDON: British Prime Minister David Cameron was on Friday set to attend a meeting of the highly-secretive Bilderberg group as the gathering of top politicians, academics and business leaders held a conference near London.

Cameron's Downing Street office confirmed he would take part in a discussion at the invitation-only annual forum, which has become a magnet for conspiracy theorists because of its high-profile guest list and lack of public accountability.

This year's four-day event is taking place in the luxury Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, near the town of Watford northwest of London, and involves a stellar cast of 140 of the world's most powerful people.

They include International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Google chairman Eric Schmidt and former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger, according to the Bilderberg website.

Cameron will join delegates from 21 countries to "participate in discussion around domestic and global economic issues", a Downing Street spokesman said.

He said it was "usual" for the group to invite the head of government of the country where it was meeting, while Cameron "feels it is an opportunity to discuss economic issues with senior ministers, businesspeople and academics".

Downing Street could not provide details of those involved in the talks, and said it would not release any information afterwards.

More than 100 protesters gathered in a fenced-off area near the hotel at the start of the conference on Thursday, heckling delegates as their cars drove in.

Labour opposition lawmaker Michael Meacher told the crowd: "These are people who are all in the most dominant positions in the governance of Western capitalism... My objection is that it's being done in utter secrecy with the police keeping everyone else out."

More extreme anti-Bilderberg campaigners have described it as a shadow world government.

US broadcaster Alex Jones said at Thursday's protest: "Not everybody who goes to Bilderberg, from my research, is a scoundrel or a villain. But there are definitely villains who are there who are basically trying to organise government and business."

Bilderberg was founded in 1954 "to foster dialogue between Europe and North America", according to its website, but until recent years its existence was rarely acknowledged.

It is run by a steering committee headed by Henri de Castries, chairman of AXA Group.

The website says it is "a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world", which does not hold votes or give policy statements.

Topics listed for discussion this year were economic growth, "big data", US foreign policy, "Africa's challenges", cyber-warfare and online education.

Bilderberg is the kind of event that gives conspiracy theorists a reason to get out of bed in the morning. It brings together the world’s top leaders, puts them together in one place for three days and shuts out the rest of the world.

These days the guest list isn’t private but it isn’t publicised either and what is said and decided there is decidedly hush hush. It is like Chatham House rules with a super injunction and death threat to boot.

This year the Bilderberg meeting is taking at the Grove in Watford, England, and has already been surrounded by police and protesters ogling to get at least a slice of the action.

In case you’re wondering who will be in attendance for the 61st addition of Bilderberg and how these global CEOs and politicians will be deciding our futures, we thought we would publish the official participant list and the agenda.

Bilderberg 2013: Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, David Rockefeller and Henry Kissenger in attendance

Although the ‘official’ guest list for Bilderberg has been made public through the major media for the first time this year, the real interest will be in who is NOT on the list…

Today’s Bilderberg coverage which was streamed live on the Guerilla Media Network, saw the UK’s Liberty Tactics team reveal from reports on the ground in Watford that both Hillary Clinton and her husband, former US President Bill Clinton, were spotted entering Bilderberg’s Grove Hotel today, along with luminaries David Rockefeller and Henry Kissenger.

Both the jet-setting Clintons were also present at Kissenger’s 90th birthday party this past Monday night in New York City.

James Britpod from Liberty Tactics explains about Bilderberg’s non-guestlisters who have been spotted, “We do have Hillary, Bill, as well as quite a lot of others”.

Sadly, American Free Press veteran journalist Jim Tucker passed away in April, but as was revealed on Guerilla Media’s live stream today, Tucker’s baton has been passed to his fellow reporter Mark Anderson, including old and new inside contacts within the Bilderberg organisation itself.

When asked about the difficulty in seeing Bilderberg VIP’s through the parade of tinted windows, journalist Anderson aptly explained how, “The dark windows match the dark personalities inside”.

The Bilderberg Group: From Conspiracy Theory to Conspiracy Reality: List of this Weekends Attendees.

This weekend holds the 2013 Bilderberg Group meeting being held in London. The Bilderberg Group was basically forced into the public eye by the alternative free press media. Just remember all the horrible stories you heard in the past about this group and people would answer "it does not exist" and that you’re a "conspiracy theorist". This tactic was used by the Nazis in WW2. The Bilderberg Group is a form of what is called shadow government.

This year’s group like most are filled with people who are population control freaks who believe the world’s population should be brought down to 500 Million people as expressed in their Georgia Guide stones built for everyone to see. Wana know why cancer is up over 3,000% in many cases look no further then those who attend these meetings. What Americans need to wake up fast and realize is what is happening in America is happening everywhere. Camera's on the streets, failed economy, martial law, taxes and crony politics which many point back to this group. You also have to ask yourself if all countries are bankrupt where did all the money go?

In America police state action is not because of "terrorist" rather has been set up for American Patriots. In I’m sick of people saying 'what do you have to hide?' -- Privacy is what it means to be a free human! Statism is designed by this group who basically is part of the world’s problems by design. They want you to fail so they can be the heroes. Who do you think is making all the money anyways? Statism. The brilliant idea that we give a small group of people the right to kidnap, imprison, harass, steal from, and kill people, so that we can be protected from people who kidnap, harass, steal and kill people.

These same people want your guns and want to expand Homeland security. It is straight out of Nazi Germany and you need look no further than at all the Nazi blood we accepted after WW2 to work in our science and education sytems. You want to know how death panels ended up in obamacare and forced vaccinations? The Nazi's believed this garbage in their secret societies such as the Thule Society. Today generations later we have to deal with the aftermath. This was called operation paperclip according to the United States Government website.

The Bilderberg Group and Bohemian Grove which Washington Post Reports are examples of these elite & bizarre meetings due to the nazi aftermath. At bohemian grove leaders, politicians and heads of industry enjoy a week filled with nudity, urinating in the woods, and the creamation of care in which they burn a fake child on a altar infront of a 40 foot owl. Notable attendees include countless presidents including all 4 bushes, Bill Clinton , top business executives and industry professionals. This also further shows how Republicans and Democrats work hand in hand.

Bilderberg Agenda
The 61st Bilderberg meeting is set to take place from 6 until 9 June 2013 in Hertfordshire, UK. A total of around 140 participants from 21 European and North American countries have confirmed their attendance. As ever, a diverse group of political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia and the media have been invited. The list of participants is available on www.bilderbergmeetings.org
The key topics for discussion this year include:
• Can the US and Europe grow faster and create jobs?
• Jobs, entitlement and debt
• How big data is changing almost everything
• Nationalism and populism
• US foreign policy
• Africa’s challenges
• Cyber warfare and the proliferation of asymmetric threats
• Major trends in medical research
• Online education: promise and impacts
• Politics of the European Union
• Developments in the Middle East
• Current affairs
Founded in 1954, Bilderberg is an annual conference designed to foster dialogue between Europe and North America.
Every year, between 120-150 political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia and the media are invited to take part in the conference. About two thirds of the participants come from Europe and the rest from North America; one third from politics and government and the rest from other fields.
The conference has always been a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world. Thanks to the private nature of the conference, the participants are not bound by the conventions of office or by pre-agreed positions. As such, they can take time to listen, reflect and gather insights.
There is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.

David Cameron has been slammed for attending a meeting of the shadowy Bilderberg Group tonight.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman claimed that he was still committed to lead the world’s most transparent government.

But the spokesman refused to say who the PM was seeing or what they would be discussing at the secret gathering of world leaders and global business chiefs.

The gathering, held here for the first time, was a private event even though Mr Cameron was invited as the Prime Minister of the host country, the spokesman insisted.

The spokesman claimed: “That doesn’t mean that he is not determined to lead the most transparent government.”

But Tamasin Cave, of the Alliance for Lobbying Transparency, said that Mr Cameron’s decision to attend the Bilderberg conference “drives a coach and horses” through his pledge of openness.

Ms Cave said: “We need to know exactly what David Cameron was talking to business leaders about – was it our tax system or policy on the NHS, for example?

“The Prime Minister is a public servant. His job is to represent the public interest. When he is meeting with these elite group of business leaders whose interest is he really serving?”

Up to 150 members of the elite Bilderberg group has met behind closed doors every almost year since it was founded in 1954, sparking ferocious criticism and conspiracy theories.

There is no formal agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.

This year’s gathering is being held at the luxury Grove hotel, in Watford, which has put up the England football team in the past.

Mr Cameron was not taking the army of civil servants who usually accompany a PM to any event to record what was said.

The PM’s spokesman would only say that he was taking part in a debate on the global economy with an unknown group of international ministers, business leaders and academics.

That was despite Mr Cameron’s vow to up-front about his meetings when he was elected.

Speaking in 2010 he said: “We want to be the most open and transparent government in the world.”

His spokesman denied the Bilderberg meeting contradicted his pledge.

“The Prime Minister has always been clear about the importance of transparency,” the spokesman said.

“The Prime Minister regularly has meetings with key ministers from other countries and with business people and others as part of his job.”

Chancellor George Osborne and veteran Tory minister Ken Clarke, who sits on the group’s steering committee, were also among those attending, along with Labour’s shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.

There is anger that taxpayers are being left to pick up the tab for the huge security operation being mounted to protect the global elite at their love-in at the Hertfordshire retreat.

Hertfordshire police say that the Bilderberg group will make a contribution toward their cost but they will apply to the Home Office for help with the rest.

Watford town mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: “I think it’s outrageous that the local taxpayer has to pick up the tab for ostensibly a private meeting of trillionaires, probably the most wealthy people in the world.

“Hertfordshire Constabulary have suddenly got this unexpected budget strain dumped on them at literally a month’s notice.

"It’s not on.”

LONDON — It’s a busy weekend at the luxury Grove Hotel, favored haunt of British soccer players and their glitz-loving spouses.

More than 100 of the world’s most powerful people are at the former manor house near London for a secretive annual gathering that has attained legendary status in the eyes of anti-capitalist protesters and conspiracy theorists.

The guest list for the Bilderberg meeting includes Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. British Prime Minister David Cameron is due to drop by Friday.

The Bilderberg Group was set up in 1954 to support military and economic co-operation between Europe and North America during the Cold War.

Named for the site of its first meeting — the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeek, Holland — the forum for prominent politicians, thinkers and business leaders has been held annually at a series of secluded venues in Europe and North America.

What happens at Bilderberg, stays at Bilderberg. There is no media access and the public is kept away by a large security operation. The group says that “there is no detailed agenda, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken, and no policy statements are issued.”

But in a move toward slightly more openness, the group now has a website. which lists attendees and key topics for discussion, including the economy, U.S. foreign policy, “cyber warfare and the proliferation of asymmetric threats” and “major trends in medical research.”

Invitees include British Treasury chief George Osborne, Goldman Sachs chairman Peter Sutherland and Thomas Enders, CEO of aerospace company EADS.

Publication of these details has done little to ease the concerns of protesters, who sense a shadowy global elite at work in the secretive meeting.

“When 130 of the leaders from all across the West get together, and many of these are billionaires, they are people who are immensely wealthy and immensely powerful,” said Michael Meacher, a lawmaker from Britain’s Labour Party.

“And when they all get together, it’s not just to have a chat about the latest problem, it is to concert plans for the future of capitalism in the West. That is on a very different scale.”

Others go even further, putting Bilderberg at the heart of a global web of conspiracy. The protesters in Watford include U.S. talk-radio host and Sept. 11 “truther” Alex Jones, and former professional soccer player David Icke, who believes the world is run by a race of reptiles in human form.

Demonstrators plan to hold a “Bilderberg fringe” festival outside the hotel until the conference ends Sunday.

A Bilderberg spokesman — reached by email since no phone number is listed — said there is nothing sinister about the gathering.

“We disclose the date, the location, the participants and the key topics of the conference,” Xander Heijnen said. “Many groups of people meet without announcing it publicly at all, without disclosing who is taking part and without giving any key topics.

“The meetings broaden the participants’ range of viewpoints, help them to gain insights and exchange views,” he said. “It seems illogical to argue that a meeting of individuals designed to give and obtain fresh insights, somehow ‘undermines democracy.’”

That message has not swayed protesters like Judd Charlton, a ventriloquist from London who showed up Thursday to jeer at cars with blacked-out windows entering the hotel compound.

“We are basically here to bring down the parasites who are drug dealers and bank collapsers who seem to want to destroy this world,” he said.

Now that it is no longer secret, is the Bilderberg Group losing its cachet?

By Harry Phibbs
Follow Harry on Twitter

For a secretive outfit, the Bilderberg Group is getting lots of publicity. I remember hearing years ago, a conspiracy theory that it controlled the world. Presidents, Prime Ministers, business leaders would turn up at its conferences to receive their orders. We would never read about it - as the newspapers proprietors were in on it. (The Trilateral Commission also used to crop up in this context).

These days I wonder if the Bilderberg Group has quite the same sinister cache. It is currently meeting in Watford. Furthermore a list of those going along is on their website.

Some have regarded the Bilderberg Group as a negative force - promoting corporatism and seeking to erode Parliamentary democracy and national sovereignty. To the extent that such views reflect establishment thinking there may be something in this. But the difficulty with the analysis is that there have always been people with a range of views attending. Even Margaret Thatcher went once apparently. Various Thatcherites have been involved over the years - Lord Black used to be on the steering committee.

Given that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, and the Shadow Chancellor, Ed Balls, are both pitching up at the Watford event, does that really mean that Mr Osborne and Mr Balls are in cahoots? I think more likely it is just a rather efficient networking event.

Probably the tea breaks are the most productive. Mr Osborne can have a quick chat with Christine Lagarde, the Managing Director of the IMF. Then dart off for a word with Eric Schmidt the head of Google. Mr Balls might sidle up to John Micklethwait, the editor of The Economist, to spin away about how Labour's deficit reducton plan is really jolly credible.

Lord Black recalls in his memoirs that he used one of the gatherings to plot with Norman Lamont against our then Prime Minister John Major:

At the Bilderberg meeting in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, in 1995, I probed this subject with him over some local wine. He exclaimed, “I am prepared to discuss treason, but not while drinking this ghastly Swiss weasel-piss.” We moved to a more potable French wine.

However Lord Black adds that its conferences did contribute to "group think."

After twenty years, I was tired of Bilderberg, tired of raising polite opposition to the endless smug togetherness of Euro-federalists and American liberal Democrats exchanging timetables as they proceeded on their wrong-headed policies. And I was tired of patronizing tribalism, the
bright Young boys, the Winston Lords, Andrew Knights, Jim Wolfensohns, were patted on the head by the David Rockefeller–Eric Roll elder sages.

In later years, especially when I was in prison, I was amused by stories of Bilderberg’s world influence, but the sense of entitlement that pervaded it, especially among the precocious, was often almost impenetrable. A few more or less amiable scoundrels like Vernon Jordan and Victor Halberstadt played the associations for all they were worth.

The group-think was almost always wrong; George Will, Richard Pipes (and they never returned), and I were a voice in the wilderness about Reagan. Bilderberg missed the rise and then the fall of Japan, the end of the Cold War (except for my Hollinger colleague Dwayne Andreas), the problems of Euro-federalism, almost anything to do with Islam, and the current economic debacle. They all but waved the incense pot before Bob Rubin and Alan Greenspan.

The Tory MP Douglas Carswell has criticised David Cameron for attending this "unaccountable clique of Davos men." Mr Carswell says these issues should be "discussed in public." Come off it. Is Mr Carswell saying no meetings should be private?

David Cameron is right to go to Watford. Given all the big shots from around the world turning up, it would have been rude not to. It is also an efficient use of Mr Cameron's time to be able to speak to so many of them informally at one event. However he should certainly treat with scepticism the consensus notions put forward in the speeches, if Lord Black's analysis of their past success rate is accurate.

Locked away from the focus of television cameras and the glare of the public eye, leaders of Europe and North America are discussing society’s greatest issues at the annual Bilderberg Group gathering this weekend. The meeting of some of the world’s best-known -- and richest -- minds brings together politicians, academics, bankers and industrial leaders from both continents.

This Bilderberg Group summit is the first to be conducted in Great Britain in 14 years, and about 140 people were invited to attend the elite conference, according to the Independent of London. The event is being held at the Grove Hotel, a luxury resort near Watford that has been transformed into a fortified oasis for some of the world’s most powerful people.

Armed checkpoints have been set up around the hotel and a high fence placed around the “exclusion zone” of the property, the Telegraph reported. Some have claimed the security operation could cost British taxpayers as much as £2 million ($3.05 million) or more, the Daily Mail said.

Founded in 1954, the Bilderberg Group has described its annual conference as “a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world.” Its initial goal was to forge ties between leaders of Western Europe and the U.S., as noted by the Telegraph. Its first meeting was held at the Bilderberg Hotel in the Netherlands where attendees discussed the Communist threat and the possibility of European integration.

The annual meetings are shrouded in secrecy. Little is known about what happens during them because no minutes are kept, no resolutions are considered and no votes are taken. The group has said it is looking only to serve as a conversation mill for leaders seeking solutions to the greatest problems facing the world. In terms of format, debates take place with all delegates seated together in one large room, the Telegraph said.

This year’s attendees include Henry Kissinger, the former U.S. secretary of state; Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund; and Peter Thiel, the co-founder and former CEO of PayPal. Britsh Prime Minister David Cameron will also be at the event: His decision to attend has led to great scrutiny in the U.K., with some commentators indicating his participation in the closely guarded summit conflicts with his previous statements about leading a more open, transparent government.

Several demonstrators appeared outside the conference venue this week, pushing conspiracy theories about the meeting and the lack of information known about its true purpose. “If our politicians want to be wined and dined in luxury for three days with Goldman Sachs, that seems to me a little bit like lobbying,” Hannah Borno, a journalist and transparency campaigner, told the Telegraph. Borno has requested that minutes of the meeting be published.

For its part, the Bilderberg Group has said it has no special agenda in mind, except for its summiteers to discuss the issues that are plaguing society while they are free to “listen, reflect and gather insights” away from the expectations and pressures associated with their roles in society and to “foster dialogue between Europe and North America.”

UK PM to join Bilderberg meeting
Updated: 11:40, Saturday June 8, 2013

British Prime Minister David Cameron is set to attend a meeting of the highly secretive Bilderberg group as the gathering of top politicians, academics and business leaders holds a conference near London.

Cameron will join delegates from 21 countries to 'participate in discussion around domestic and global economic issues,' a Downing Street spokesman said.

He said it was 'usual' for the group to invite the head of government of the country where it was meeting, while Cameron 'feels it is an opportunity to discuss economic issues with senior ministers, businesspeople and academics'.

Downing Street could not provide details of those involved in the talks, and said it would not release any information afterwards.

More than 100 protesters gathered in a fenced-off area near the hotel at the start of the conference on Thursday, heckling delegates as their cars drove in.

Labour opposition MP Michael Meacher told the crowd: 'These are people who are all in the most dominant positions in the governance of Western capitalism... My objection is that it's being done in utter secrecy with the police keeping everyone else out.'

More extreme anti-Bilderberg campaigners have described it as a shadow world government.

US broadcaster Alex Jones said at Thursday's protest: 'Not everybody who goes to Bilderberg, from my research, is a scoundrel or a villain. But there are definitely villains who are there who are basically trying to organise government and business.'

Bilderberg was founded in 1954 'to foster dialogue between Europe and North America', according to its website, but until recent years its existence was rarely acknowledged.

It is run by a steering committee headed by Henri de Castries, chairman of AXA Group.

The website says it is 'a forum for informal, off-the-record discussions about megatrends and the major issues facing the world,' which does not hold votes or give policy statements.

Topics listed for discussion this year were economic growth, 'big data', US foreign policy, 'Africa's challenges', cyber-warfare and online education.

LONDON–The 5-star Grove Hotel in the leafy London suburb of Watford is hosting a secret gathering of the some of the most powerful people in the world – the Bilderberg Group.

This year’s attendees, according to the official Bilderberg website, include directors from global banks Goldman Sachs and HSBC, and the directors of Facebook and Google. British prime minister David Cameron admitted he will be attending on Friday.

What goes on behind the closed doors has been hidden for the last 59 years. Even the existence of the group was known to few people, with media shying away from covering it, much to the frustration of those who have protested and monitored the group over the years.

But this year, something changed, as for the first time reporters and TV crews mingled with protestors and MPs on the patch of grass marked off by a police cordon on Thursday.

Comedy writer Charlie Skelton has been monitoring the Bilderberg group for years. “I used to come because nobody else did. So it looks like I’m out of a job,” he said. “There’s a large press battalion of press – Sky News, Channel 4 News, The Times… you name it. What you see now is historic, it really is.”
