Survey questions reflect some of the most contentious issues to ever engage the mental health field and spill over into the public arena: the reality of ritual abuse and government-sponsored mind control experiments, the credibility of repressed memories, and claims that therapists implant false memories of incest and ritual abuse in their clients' minds.

Of 257 who reported secret mind control experiments used on them as children, 67% also reported having been ritually abused in a satanic cult.
Of 53 different healing methods, respondents overwhelmingly chose individual psychotherapy/counseling as the most effective method for helping them overcome the aftereffects of extreme abuse.
"The results of this survey will challenge many to step out of their comfort zones and change their world views," Rutz said in her closing remarks. "Will we allow these heinous types of abuse to lie in the shadows or do we have the courage to bring them into the light and face them?"

An RCMP officer in Kelowna, B.C., will be disciplined for using a Taser stun gun on a 68-year-old stroke victim over a parking violation. Supt. Bill McKinnon said the incident grew out of a simple traffic stop that escalated when John Peters drove away.
The senior admitted he first drove away when a police officer tried to give him a ticket for double parking. Peters told CBC News he then stopped a short distance away. The officer stunned him with the Taser once while he was still in his car, and again when he got out, Peters said.
McKinnon said a stun gun should never be used when someone is seated in a car and the officer has been suspended from using the Taser. He will likely receive a written reprimand on his record, McKinnon said. "We have determined the use of a conducted energy weapon while Mr. Peters remained seated in the driver's seat of his vehicle was indeed inappropriate," McKinnon said.
Peters told CBC News that the RCMP apologized to him on Thursday before issuing the public statement. "We in turn regret this particular action, and have apologized to Mr. Peters over this tactical error in judgment. I have ordered a Code of Conduct investigation in order to address the issue," said McKinnon.
However, the second use of the Taser on Peters, after he got out of the vehicle, was justified because Peters was combative and resisting arrest, McKinnon said. ????

A former bar mitzvah lessons teacher in Baltimore's Orthodox Jewish community was charged yesterday with sex offenses that allegedly occurred nearly two decades ago against a then-12-year-old boy, according to the city State's Attorney's Office.
The boy was learning to chant passages from the Torah at Israel Shapiro's home on Olympia Avenue in September 1988 when the alleged offenses occurred, according to court documents. The charges were filed Dec. 4. Shapiro was charged with a third- and fourth-degree sex offense. According to the Jewish Times, Shapiro, 57, no longer teaches bar mitzvah lessons and now works in a local kosher butcher shop.

Much of the abuse occurred while his wife, Nicole Bernard, was working. She said Bernard told her that he was the first to penetrate his daughter and Louis Lamonica was the second. She said Bernard described the rituals at the church, although the rituals were not the point of the FBI investigation. Freitas said he volunteered the information. According to Bernard, the rituals took place in what was called the room, which was the church's youth room. He described how six adults would line up shoulder to shoulder and perform sex acts on his daughter or other children, who were passed down the line. The rule was that there would be no penetration or injury. The rituals had a Satanic theme, including a Pentagram, the use of animals and animal parts such as chicken feet and the use of animal blood. Freitas said that according to Bernard, Patricia Pierson and Robin Lamonica, two defendants in the case, put animal blood on his daughter during one of the rites. She said Bernard claimed Pierson and Lamonica also sexually abused his daughter.
