The decision to deploy mass-customized mashup on-line journalism was likely hatched in Athens.

The confidential meetings, which began last spring, grew out of conversations between Eric Schmidt, Google's chief executive, and Donald Graham, The Washington Post Co.'s chief executive. Google later began separate discussions with senior Times executives.

Comments by Davignon about the role of Prince Philippe. The translation is a little choppy.

http://www.standaard.be/artikel/detail.aspx?artikelid=012NU2CV

Burggraaf Etienne Davignon knows the crown prince. As a chairman of the Bilderberggroep, he bid Filip different times from on the informal meetings of world leaders and ceo's of multinationals. 'In contrast till in the Netherlands and England is there by our insufficient grade place for the members of the royal family that no king its', says the minister of State. 'How more time there goes by, how with difficulty the furrow them becomes what movements space to find. The structural handicap is that they not real knowledge what it of them is expected. Do they wonder constant: I do too much or just too little?'

Davignon notices on that the opinions over a man fast can change. 'Then Boudewijn yet in the shadow of Leopold III lived, were there also doubts over its capacities. On the moment that Albert its brother followed, asked everybody self finished or he the comparison would endure. Today everybody is pulls it about it as soon as he self good from the blow. We are normally less good then other countries in the reconciling of the preparatory role and the representative role of crown princes.'

Notre-Europe, a Bilderberg working group, pushes subjugating Western nation state leadership to a multilateral (G-20) approach for managing globalization in its recent report. “Reshaping EU-US Relations:A Concept Paper”. Nothing new here.

http://www.notre-europe.eu/en/axes/europe-and-world-governance/projects/projet/high-level-task-force-on-euus-relations/

• Supporting and practicing multilateralism as the basis of international
negotiations,
• Actively promoting and endorsing shared sovereignty in the management of global issues,
• Strengthening the Euro-American partnership as a platform for forging
global partnerships with all the players on the international stage, rather
than as a means of asserting Western leadership,
• Foregoing, in Europe, the primacy of national sovereignty and in the United States, the claim to unilateral world leadership

With the big exposure this year in the US mainstream right media (but conspicuously not the US mainstream left) there’s perhaps some presumption that truth will unfold. Absolutely not. That exposure has been mostly superficial and Bilderberg is presented as a harmless off-the-record meeting that has conspiracy theory detractors. The CIA/Associated Press article on Fidel Castro’s fascination with Bilderberg contains quotes by Josee-Marie’s Hudson Institute and makes it obvious that the exposure is being carefully orchestrated by Bilderberg itself.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100818/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/cb_cuba_castro_bildenberg

Why has the mainstream US right media chosen to put a weak but nonetheless visible spotlight on Bilderberg now? One possible clue is the recent statement by US House Minority Leader John Boehner that Geithner and Summers should resign. Could it be that there are forces who have decided to the stand up to the debt slavery being imposed by the Rothschild’s Financial Services Group and European Financial Services Roundtable/Inter-Alpha Group?

Bilderbergmeetings.org (thanks japanhandler!) confirms and clarifies so much – the Steering Committee, Conference topics - but raises so many questions. For instance, why no royals since Bernhard on the Steering Committee? Why so many policy wonks? Who if anyone will succeed Rockefeller on the Advisory Board?

Here are a handful of English-speaking websites and a couple recent comments

A top Bilderberg priority remains completion of the WTO DOHA round. As he did during the 1993 Uruguay round, Sutherland is pushing the game of chicken to induce recalcitrant nations to approve DOHA by a deadline by June 2011 or be blamed for its failure. Sutherland says the US is key but will the new US Congress ratify it?

Joining Charlie Rose, the Economist’s John Mickelthwait, the Financial Times’ Martin Wolf, and a few others, Chrystia Freeland http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chrystia-Freeland/121204717948835 has emerged as a mainstream media tool for Bilderberg. Freeland has the right pedigree. She’s a Harvard and Oxford-educated Rhodes scholar, who was US managing editor of the Financial Times and is currently editor-in-chief of Thompson Reuters.

Pointed out by American Free Press, this recent major piece by Freeland in the Atlantic, “The Rise of the New Global Elite” claims that a new meritocratic plutocracy has emerged over the traditional old-money oligarchy.
http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/01/the-rise-of-the-new-global-elite/8343/

It’s the latest in a series of mainstream articles about the elites to condition us to accept them following the lead of plutocrat apologist David Rothkopf. Some quotes within Freeland’s piece …

“The real community life of the 21st-century plutocracy occurs on the international conference circuit.”

Freeland mentions …
Davos
Bilderberg
China’s Boao Forum http://www.boaoforum.org/english/
Google’s Zeitgeist http://www.verizonbusiness.com/resources/media/large-131436-zeitgeist.xml - see Freeland interview Wolfensohn at Zeitgeist 2010
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LQ50MCmynk&feature=player_embedded
Vernon Jordan protégé Bill Clinton’s.Global Initiative
TED Conference http://www.ted.com/registration
Allen & Company’s Sun Valley Conference
Soros’ Open Society Conference
Pinchuk’s Ideas Fourm http://pinchukfund.org/en/

Later this paragraph:

“This geeky enthusiasm for innovation and ideas is evident at more-intimate gatherings of the global elite as well. Take the elegant Manhattan dinner parties hosted by Marie-Josée Kravis, the economist wife of the private-equity billionaire Henry, in their elegant Upper East Side apartment. Though the china is Sèvres and the paintings are museum quality (Marie-Josée is, after all, president of the Museum of Modern Art’s board), the dinner-table conversation would not be out of place in a graduate seminar. Mrs. Kravis takes pride in bringing together not only plutocrats such as her husband and Michael Bloomberg, but also thinkers and policy makers such as Richard Holbrooke, Robert Zoellick, and Financial Times columnist Martin Wolf, and leading them in discussion of matters ranging from global financial imbalances to the war in Afghanistan.”

Freeland conveniently neglects to mention that this is none other than a salon of Bilderberg itself.

Freeland claims “we need plutocrats”. Though they don’t give a damn about people, she warns they need to follow the century-old tradition of posing as philanthropists, hiding their wealth in foundations that push their agendas in the tradition of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Ford and more recently such vehicles as CSR Europe and the Gates Foundation.

Further evidence of Freeland’s standing with Bilderberg is her role in introducing the newest and 10th current Steering Committee member: German-born Klaus Kleinfeld, former CEO of Siemens who now heads Alcoa.
http://blogs.reuters.com/trnewsmaker/2011/02/24/meet-klaus-kleinfeld/

Will her betters invite her to St. Moritz this year?

Back to philanthropy, the model for other plutocrats to follow is apparently what Wolfensohn and Gates spouted recently on Charlie Rose:

The inaugural conference of Soros' Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) was held last year April 8 – 10 2010 at King’s College Cambridge. For this year's conference it is boasting its Bretton Woods, New Hampshire venue. What’s more interesting is that it will take place the exact same weekend as the Trilateral Meeting in Washington - April 8 - 10!

The global government-is-the answer attendee list includes Summers and Gordon Brown.

More on Soros' conference from American Free Press. By the way, Pete Papaherakles, the author of this article, appears to be Jim Tucker's heir-apparent.

Internationalist billionaire George Soros is holding his international conference April 8 to April 11 at Bretton Woods, N.H., the noted birthplace of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, where he plans to “rearrange the entire financial order,” as he noted in a November 2009 article in The Japan Times Online.

This “Bretton Woods II” comes along just as the Trilateral Commission will be meeting at the same time in Washington, D.C. With an apparent goal of creating nothing less than a new global economy, Soros is spending $50 million in New Hampshire to bring together up to 200 academic, business and government policy leaders under his Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET).

As AFP goes to press, the attendees are to include ex-Fed Chairman Paul Volcker, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and World Bank executive and Nobel Prize winner in economics Joseph Stiglitz.
The conference is slated for the Mount Washington Hotel, site of the historic 1944 Bretton Woods conference, which established the post-World War II international financial architecture.

Soros chose this site because he expects his proposed reforms to be as radical as those promoted by British economist John Maynard Keynes, the much-praised “genius” of the original Bretton Woods project.

Keynesian economics have been portrayed as a cure to the Western world’s postwar devastation, in that governments were liberated of money creation restrictions imposed by the gold standard, even while global financiers controlled much of the world’s gold like they do now. Governments, under the new paradigm after the war, were encouraged to promote economic growth and macroeconomic stability by creating more debt-based money for everything that ailed the economy—debt that has brought most of the world’s economies to the brink of bankruptcy.

Now Soros comes along as the new Keynes to save the day by proposing another miracle solution to our problems, couched in lofty doublespeak such as “reform,” “cooperation” and “equal participation.” Soros is proposing the end of sovereignty as we know it.

“Reorganizing the world order will need to extend beyond the financial system,” Soros wrote in his opinion piece.

Soros is saying that a washed-up America should be replaced by a world government with a global currency under UN rule. He also advocates that China should be top dog while we play second fiddle. What Soros doesn’t say is that two decades of outsourcing U.S. industry, opening the borders and bankrupting the economy with pointless wars and other debacles have been intentionally orchestrated so that now international bankers can tell the world the system is broken and that the individuals who broke it need to show us how to fix it.

Georgy Schwartz, aka George Soros, is a Hungarian Jew who has been described as anti-God, anti-family and anti-American. By his own admission he even helped confiscate the homes of fellow Jews in Hungary in 1944.

In an interview with Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes he said 1944 was the best year of his life. Asked by Kroft if he felt any remorse, he answered, “No, not at all; I rather enjoyed it.”

“No feelings of guilt?” asked Kroft. “No,” answered Soros, “only feelings of power.”

Soros made his first billion as a currency speculator in 1992 by shorting the British pound and causing misery to millions of hardworking British citizens. He went on to cause the 1999 Russiagate scandal, almost collapsing the Russian economy. It was described as “one of the greatest social robberies in human history.”

He did the same to Thailand and Malaysia in 1997, causing the Asian financial crisis of that time. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad called him “a villain and a moron,” while Thailand's PM referred to him as “Dracula.” He also helped dismantle Yugoslavia and caused major trouble in Japan, Indonesia, Georgia, Ukraine and Burma by raiding their economies.

Soros also fosters cultural degeneracy by supporting abortion rights, atheism, drug legalization, sex education, euthanasia, feminism, gun control, globalization, mass immigration, gay marriage etc. Soros funded Barack Obama’s campaign and often visits the White House.

At 81, taking down America appears to be his final challenge. “The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States. The time has come for a very serious adjustment,” he said.

The NY Times Gretchen Morgensen details how James A. Johnson built US government-backed mortgage lender Fannie Mae into the largest lending institution in the world backed by the US government. She calls Johnson is the “founding Father of regulation manipulation” and exposes how he used his toadies in the US Congress to minimize regulation by the US Housing and Urban Development. The Federal Reserve and banking regulators were willing accomplices in Johnson's purposeful housing bubble expansion and and blowout. Morgensen has tried to contact Johnson numerous times without success.

Morgensen has been exposing the banksters for years and more recently the engineered financial meltdown. Could that Morgensen would dare to focus on Johnson’s malfeasance and in her new book “Reckless Endangerment: How Outsized Ambition, Greed and Corruption Led to Economic Armageddon” signal resistance within the saner elements of Corporate America to Bilderberg’s ongoing destruction of the US economy and refusal to reinstate Glass-Steagall and more stringent lending regulations and accounting standards?

Davignon has retired as chairman but remains a Steering Committee member. He looked pretty worn out in the interview he did on Belgian TV back in May. Now he'll have more time for his Grand Prix racing hobby. Succeeding him is Henri Castries. A relative of mine works for AXA and says that Castries is an engaged high-energy individual.
