Following a somewhat cryptic announcement Tuesday by Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) that she would be spending a few days in Washington this week, papers report that she headed to the USA on Wednesday to attend a meeting of the high-powered Bilderberg group from Thursday to Saturday.

Helsingin Sanomat (siirryt toiseen palveluun) writes that the purpose of the meeting is to be an informal and confidential exchange of views between leading European and North American politicians, journalists, researchers, business representatives and experts.

Marin told HS Wednesday that the trip does not include a meeting with President Joe Biden.

Lauri Voionmaa, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, told the paper that other meetings in Washington were being "tuned in", but the Bilderberg gathering is the PM's first priority.

The annual Bilderberg meeting was not held during the previous two years of the coronavirus pandemic. When the meeting was last held in 2019, the only Finnish representative in attendance was Erkki Liikanen, the former Governor of the Bank of Finland.

Finns who were previously AT BILDERBERG MEETINGS describe the meeting to HS as an event whose biggest contribution is meeting the world's top experts.

Traditionally, little is said about the event. In recent years, its participants and topics have been published online, though only right in the run-up to the meeting.

The State Council announced on Tuesday that Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend a meeting in Washington this year. According to Marin's staff, there are "exceptional heavyweights" involved. In a press release, the Prime Minister's Office described the meeting as an "informal and confidential exchange of ideas" between prominent influencers.

The Prime Minister has been asked to speak at the event on the security situation in Europe.

In addition to Marin, erkki Liikanen, former President of the Bank of Finland, and Kaius Niemi, editor-in-chief of Helsingin Sanomat, will attend the Bilderberg meeting FROM FINLAND .

"The meeting has been postponed for two years because of the pandemic, but now the meeting could not have come at a more interesting time," says Niemi from Washington. "War is raging in Ukraine, Finland and Sweden have applied for NATO membership, China is becoming increasingly important. The Nordic countries and Finland are certainly now in a special focus."

THE MEETING has been held since 1945 and has been attended by several Finns over the years. Jyrki Katainen (Kok), Elina Valtonen (Kok) and Matti Apunen explain what the meeting is all about.

KATAINEN recalls attending the meeting twice. He was present as Finance Minister in Istanbul in 2007 and in Sitges, Spain, in 2010. Today Katainen serves as Sitra's Chief Ombudsman.

"The biggest contribution is that there are interesting people operating at a high level in their own operating environments. And the discussion is very informal," Katainen says.

The participants live in the same hotel where the day begins with a seminar and ends with dinner. There are European and North American influencers present on issues such as business, politics and science," Katainen describes.

Katainen compares the event to the Davos Economic Forum, with the difference that Bilderberg is smaller and all discussions are confidential. Bilderberg has had about 130 participants in recent years.

KATAINEN points out that lunches and dinners do not have predetermined places.

According to him, this is a conscious choice. Katainen recalls the time when henry kissinger, the former Secretary of State of the United States, was joined for lunch.

"What an interesting lunch conversation. He knew Finland's history well and stated that Finland is a heroic nation, a heroic people."

The atmosphere of the event is immediate and relaxed," Katainen says. There is a Chatham house rule, which means that participants are allowed to make use of the information they receive, but the source must not be disclosed or quoted.

"There, many people dare to speculate more," Katainen says.

ELINA VALTONEN attended the meeting in 2018 in Turin, Italy. According to him, Bilderberg's participants tend to be influential and the days are quite intense.

"I experienced it as such a very conversational environment," Valtonen says.

Bilderberg is often associated with mystery and even conspiracy theories that Valtonen has come across.

"It sounds mostly ridiculous. In the sense that there are usually conferences like this, there are introductions and discussions."

According to Valtonen, most of the discussions are ones that can just as easily take place at other similar events.

Matti Apunen, who chaired the business delegation until 2019, has participated in the event several times. The last time was in 2016 in Dresden, Germany.

"All in all, this has grown into an incomprehensible myth. According to my observations, it is a seminar among others and at most what distinguishes it from others is that it is of good quality," Apunen says.

Apunen points out that there is nothing unusual about the chatham house practice of the meeting. The principle is applied daily at various gatherings around the world and in Finland.

He also emphasises that the event can be attended by top experts from different fields, which would otherwise be difficult to face.

"If you go and talk to these people and if there are any good questions, of course it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

WHAT good can Bilderberg bring to the Prime Minister? Even though you get a lot of information as a minister, Jyrki Katainen says that he has found the meetings meaningful and useful.

He attended meetings as Finance Minister, but is also a former prime minister from 2011 to 2014. According to him, Bilderberg can provide valuable time to think, an opportunity for spiritual growth and increased vision.

"As Prime Minister, we are so caught up in everything that is day-to-day and dealing with various crises. The possibility of reflection and learning from others is inevitably limited," Katainen says.

"I was so positioned that I would go and refuel new thoughts and interesting perspectives and learn for a couple of days."

Following an earlier report highlighting a press release from Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin confirming her attendance at the 2022 Bilderberg meeting taking place in Washington, D.C. from June 2-5, AFP has learned that “120 participants from 21 countries” will be in attendance during the high-profile meetings in the nation’s capital this weekend.

Finnish PM Marin announced she would be traveling to Washington, D.C. on June 1 in an official press release published by the Finnish government, which was issued prior to the official website of the Bilderberg meetings announcing anything about the 68th gathering of “political leaders and experts from industry, finance, academia, labor and the media” from around the world. The Finnish government innocuously described the Bilderberg meetings as an attempt “to foster an informal and confidential exchange of views between leading European and North American politicians, journalists, researchers, experts and business representatives.”

Longtime subscribers to and readers of this newspaper recognize these high-profile meetings are anything but the innocent “informal and confidential exchange of views” among leading politicians, business leaders, journalists and other opinion shapers the world over. They are used to coordinate the global power elite and to set agendas for the furtherance of globalist initiatives and priorities, which this year will focus extensively on the conflict in Ukraine, rising global economic problems, and geopolitical realignments around the world.

AFP contacted the Finnish government through its Washington, D.C. embassy and also placed calls to two Special Advisers to PM Marin, however, no one was able to confirm any solid details about the upcoming Bilderberg meetings, which regularly draw international interest and, at times, heated protests outside the elegant venues where the meetings take place.

The Bilderberg Society was founded in 1954 by Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, David Rockefeller and the Dutch royal family. They have had annual meetings at which the elite discuss issues and come to an agreement as to what our governments should do next to make life better for certain, select Billionaires. Adeyemo, Adewale (USA), Deputy Secretary, Department of The Treasury. He is a Nigerian-American government official serving as the United States deputy secretary of the treasury. He was the first president of the Obama Foundation and also served during the Obama administration as the deputy national security advisor for international economics from 2015 to 2016 and deputy director of the National Economic Council. He served as the director of African American outreach for the John Kerry 2004 presidential campaign and was based in the San Francisco office. Prior to joining the Obama administration, Adeyemo worked as an editor at the Hamilton Project, which is biased against Whites. Adeyemo then served as senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to Jack Lew in the United States Department of the Treasury. Adeyemo later worked as the chief negotiator for the Trans-Pacific Partnership which would have destroyed jobs for working people.

He was a key supporter of Hillary Clinton. He was an adviser on the GM bankruptcy collecting $46 million in fees for Evercore. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. They are linked to Brookings. Since they are liberals, the corporate press will not call them thieves if they steal a trillion dollars.

Alverà began his career at Goldman Sachs in London. Arnaut, José Luís (PRT), Managing Partner, CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut. He attended a previous meeting in 2017. He worked in the EU patent office. And is an expert at protecting patents and brands. Some members are invited to advise other members on specific subjects, such as, protecting against counterfeit goods.



Auken, Ida (DNK), Member of Parliament, The Social Democrat Party. She was Minister for the Environment of Denmark from 2011 to 2014. Until 2014 she was a member of the Socialist People’s Party, after which she moved to the Danish Social Liberal Party. In 2021, she switched to the Social Democrats. Like her mother, she is a priest of the Church of Denmark by profession. Auken is also a member of Old Brick’s advisory board, which is a Danish company that cleans and recycles used bricks. Auken is also member of the advisory board of EMG, an international CSR and sustainability consultancy founded in the Netherlands. She wrote a glowing article for the World Economic Forum in 2016 telling us how technology could fuse with social action to produce a paradise by 2030.



Azoulay, Audrey (INT), Director-General, UNESCO. She is a French civil servant and politician. She previously served as France’s Minister of Culture in the government of Prime Minister Manuel Valls from 2016 to 2017. Azoulay was born in La Celle-Saint-Cloud to a Moroccan Jewish family from Essaouira.Her father, André Azoulay, is the current adviser to king Mohammed VI of Morocco, having previously been the adviser to his predecessor Hassan II from 1991 to 1999.



Baker, James H. (USA), Director, Office of Net Assessment, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Baker earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University in 1990. In 1993, he earned another master’s degree, in operations research and systems engineering, from the University of Florida. In 1999, he attended the Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College for a masters in Military Sciences. In 2006, he returned to school at the National War College to earn a master’s in national security studies. He later completed certificate programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School. On May 14, 2015 Baker was selected to be the director of the Office of Net Assessment. He served under Obama, Trump and Biden. He is responsible for providing the United States Secretary of Defense with comparative assessments of the prospects of the military capabilities of the United States relative to other actors. He previously served as strategist and advisor to two chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is not a politician but then neither he nor anyone else at Bilderberg has been looking for the tens of trillions of dollars that have gone missing since the Clinton years.

She is also the head of Christie’s auction house. Her husband is an investment banker at Barclays.
