The coroner is thought to have resigned because of the immense pressure being put on him by the Royal family NOT to come up with a verdict of unlawful killing.
The time to investigate any possible secret society or other compromised links of his replacement is now.

The judge who granted life-long anonymity to the killers of Jamie Bulger is set to take over the inquest into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss has been recommended to take over the role after the coroner of the Queen's Household, Michael Burgess, stepped down in July.
The appointment of Dame Elizabeth - who is known for her no-nonsense approach - has been welcomed by officials who have been frustrated at the enquiry's slow progress.
Although the 73-year-old's appointment has yet to be officially confirmed, it is understood that only few formalities remained to be completed.
The deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed in Paris in August 1997 have been plagued by conspiracy theories, including that they were murdered.
It is hoped that the appointment of Dame Elizabeth will speed up the police inquiry which has so far taken two-and-a-half years and cost £2million.
It is known that Princes William and Harry are extremely keen that the inquest take place so that the conspiracy theories may be dispelled once and for all.
Michael Burgess dramatically quit the case in July, claiming that he did not have enough time to devote to the case.
Dame Elizabeth will now await the official report into the deaths, which is being conducted by former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens.
In May, Lord Stevens said fresh witnesses and forensic evidence had been gathered, having earlier indicated the inquiry into the death of Diana was "far more complex than any of us thought".
It is thought an inquest is unlikely to happen before 2008 at the earliest.
Mother-of-three Dame Elizabeth was the first woman to break into the judicial elite when she was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 1988.
She retired last year as president after of the High Court family division after 35 years of being a judge and is widely regarded as being responsible for opening up the judicial system to women.
She was thrust into the public eye during the Cleveland child abuse inquiry, which saw hundreds of children wrongly diagnosed as being victims of child abuse. It resulted in the Children Act of 1989.
She was also the judge who controversially ruled that the killers of Jamie Bulger should be entitled to lifelong anonymity. |
