Paul Watson's Prison Planet article http://www.prisonplanet.com/bush-mccain-obama-to-visit-bohemian-grove.html claims that Bush (back from the G, Obama, and/or McCain may show up. Obama and McCain will be in San Diego from Saturday through Tuesday.
Here's today's Bohemian Grove article in my local newspaper, the NY Times-owned Santa Rosa Press Democrat: http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/article/20080711/NEWS/807110346
Side comment: No response from the editor a month ago when asked that they carry a story about the Chantilly meeting. But no way they can ignore the annual local Bohemian Grove encampment.
Sorry no time to hang out at the local airport in hope of snapping pictures of bigs exiting their private jets into their tinted window limos before heading west 15 miles to the Grove. Speaking of tinted windows, if not mistaken the lone photo taken of Chantilly participants was that of Bernanke in a non-tinted window vehicle. The technology to see through tinted windows does exist http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6611200/description.html |

Took a drive out to Monte Rio and the Grove this Sunday afternoon. No demonstrators from the local Bohemian Grove Action Network or elsewhere - just locals walking to and from the Russian River to enjoy the afternoon. The guy at the local grocery store said that supplies have been coming in to the Grove and the event is in full gear.
Saw a couple black Mercedes and limos and exchanged glances with a well-heeled grey haired man in a black Cadillac SUV. On nearby Main Street I pulled over so a silver Lexus could pass filled with four men. The Lexus bore an interesting license plate: B Owlet
Drove up Bohemian Drive to the entry to the Grove and went past the posted No Trespassing sign beyond which was a parking area on the left. Several Sonoma County law enforcement vehicles were parked there. To the right on the other side of a fence was a large dirt parking lot packed with vehicles. I backed into the parking area. About 120 ft further was the entry way to the Grove wide enough for one vehicle and flanked on either side by redwood trees. In the entryway was a sheriff who checked each vehicle entering. I took a couple of pictures and intend to post them later this week - sorry I don't have a digital camera. I exchanged nods and waved to the officer before departing.

A source tells me that so far no real bigs are in attendance. Former California governor Pete Wilson was mentioned.
More likely bigs such as Kissinger will show up next week for a couple of days when the Grove puts on plays and larger entertainment. In the meantime daily lakeside talks on issues such as Iraq, the environment. etc. will be given for attendees.
This would imply that if Obama and/or McCain are to attend in order to mingle with the bigs, that it would more likely happen next week. |

Neither Obama nor McCain were at the Grove last weekend as was rumored in Infowars.
As was reported in Infowars and the local Press Democrat, Vanity Fair writer Alex Shoumatoff was busted for trespassing:

I have a couple jpg photos of the entrance to the Grove that I took last Sunday but reading the FAQ above I need to post them elsewhere and then link to them here.
The bigs haven't arrived at their camp at the Grove yet, but when they do I'll post an update. |

truthaction.org has obttained the guest list which includes Rockefeller, Kissinger, Rumsfeld, GHW Bush, as well as the camp guide:

I drove out to the entrance gate again this Sunday afternoon and security was definitely beefed up from the previous weekend. Didn't see the truthaction people. |

George Schultz, Kissinger, and GHW Bush were definitely at the Grove this weekend. Bill Gates delivered a Lakeside talk. As infowars.com reported, the Hill Billies and Mandalay camps are where the Bigs stay. Access to one of these (not sure which one) is via a tram and is guarded by the US Secret Service. |

Bohemian Grove 2008 has concluded. Only things new to note are that media pundit David Gergen and former US secretary-of-state James Baker, both who have attended Bilderberg, gave lakeside talks. And confirmed that Mandalay camp is only accesible via tram, off-limits to all but the bigs, and heavily guarded.
Though the local NY Times-owned Santa Rosa Press Democrat wouldn't respond to my request to report on Chantilly, to their credit Bohemian Grove was their July 25 front page headline story:

I posted photos on a local website but for some unknown reason they look washed out. When I figure out why and fix the problem, will put a link here for the record. |
