Goldmine Sachs
Daily Mail

Bank staff to get £320,000 Christmas bonuses - City payouts total £8.6bn in biggest pay bonanza ever seen in London.
STAFF at investment bank Goldman Sachs are expected to receive Christmas bonuses averaging £320,000 each.
The news came as it emerged that City workers will be paid bonuses totalling almost £9bil-lion this year.
Soaring stock markets and com-pany takeovers have helped fuel expectations of record payments, with the biggest players likely to receive tens of millions.
Goldman Sachs, the world's largest investment bank, said its employees would be awarded a total of £8.4billion in bonuses this year -40 per cent up on 2005.
It comes after annual profits for the bank, nicknamed Golden Sacks, soared 70 per cent to a record £4.9billion.
The bank has set-aside a record amount for its employees across the world, averaging £320,000 per mem-ber of staff.
It will be paid in bonuses and other benefits to the 26,467 employees, including around 5,000 based in London.
However, the rest of the workforce is not so lucky. While the average salary for a man working full-time in the City is nearly £90,000, everybody else is on £25,000.
The average salary, excluding bonuses, is just 3.3 per cent higher than last year - below inflation, despite above-inflation rises in household bills.
The average gas bill has jumped 91 per cent since 2003 to £630.
New York-based Goldman Sachs has kick-started the seasonal pay-ments because it is the first to announce how much has been set aside for bonuses this year.
Some employees will receive bonuses which will dwarf their nor-mal pay when they are paid out in the first two weeks of January.
The biggest players, such as senior executives, star traders and deal-makers, can expect to receive £10million or more each, while many more junior staff will be on £1million or more.
Goldman Sachs finance director David Viniar said: 'This was a remarkable year for Goldman Sachs by any standard.'
Last year, 3,000 senior City workers took home at least £1million each in record bonuses.
Experts predict 4,200 high-fliers across the City will benefit from bonuses of more than £1million as part of the biggest pay bonanza ever seen in London.
Bonuses in other firms are forecast to be between ten and 30 percent higher than last year. Total bonuses in London will be around £8.6billion, according to the Centre for Eco-nomics and Business Research.
Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns all report their own results in the next few days, and most other investment banks follow in January.
More than half of bonus money from the City is believed to be spent on new homes or second homes.
City workers' spending power has helped property prices in London rise to an average of £260,000.
With more than 300,000 people working in the City, an increase in bonuses will fuel fears that prices in the South East will continue to surge next year.
While some will put their money into investments or property, others will go on a spending spree, buy-ing luxury cars, yachts, race horses, jewellery and designer clothes.
City bonus payouts have been heavily criticised in the past. At the Labour Party conference, Harriet Harman described them as 'excessive and ridiculous'.
The Constitutional Affairs Min-ister said the increasing gap between rich and poor creates a 'sick society'.
Brendan Barber, general secre-tary of the Trades Union Con-gress, said: 'No one. should begrudge generous rewards for hard work and risk-taking. But the obscene size of these City bonuses has lost touch with reality.'

IRISH businessman and former Attorney General, Peter Sutherland, has been named as one of the Vatican's investment gurus.
Mr Sutherland (60) has been appointed as an expert adviser on Vatican finances by Pope Benedict XVI.
His appointment to the board responsible for the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, known as APSA, was announced in Rome yesterday. APSA is the office within the Roman Curia that deals with properties owned by the Vatican, which provide revenue for the Pope and the Vatican civil service to carry out their administration of the universal Catholic Church.
It is not to be confused with the Institute for the Works of Religion, more commonly known as the Vatican Bank, which was embroiled in scandals associated in 1982 with the collapse of the Banco Ambrosiano, whose chairman Roberto Calvi was found hanging from Blackfriars Bridge in London.
Along with the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See, APSA was given the task of improving the running of the Vatican's cash-flow and investments, as well as pension funds - that were traditionally enshrouded in secrecy.
APSA examines the budgets of the various branches of the Roman Curia, and advises on the Holy See's investments in stocks and real estate. Mr Sutherland will also examine the Holy See's management of its personnel, as the biggest expense for the Curia is its wage bill to staff, including the operation of its embassies around the world.
Mr Sutherland is chairman of BP Amoco in London, is a former chairman and managing director of Goldman Sachs and a former EU Commissioner. Born in Dublin in April 1946, he was educated at the Jesuits' Gonzaga College, University College Dublin, and the King's Inns.
Known by his friends as 'Suds', Mr Sutherland was called to the Bar in 1968, but failed to win a Dail seat as a Fine Gael candidate in the 1969 general election.
In the early 1980s, Mr Sutherland served as Attorney General in the two Fine Gael/Labour coalitions led by Dr Garret FitzGerald, before being appointed to Brussels in 1983 as Ireland's member of the European Commission.
Last night, Archbishop of Dublin Dr Diarmuid Martin welcomed Mr Sutherland's appointment and described him as "eminently qualified" to assist the Pope.
THREE prominent Irish people have been named among the most influential Roman Catholics in Britain. Ireland's former European Union Commissioner Peter Sutherland is the highest placed in the list.
The chairman of BP and Goldman Sachs International was named as the fourth most influential Catholic in Britain and the North of Ireland by the Catholic weekly The Tablet.

Our world history is not the result of coincidences, but rather precise planning. More than half a century ago a powerful group was formed to take the fate of this planet into hand and steer the world in the direction of a secret brand of internationalism. Numerous crucial events in politics and economics can be traced back to subtle manipulation by Bilderberg. Their goal: total global control.
The high priests of globalization first met in 1954 under strictest secrecy for the first time in the Netherlands hotel de Bilderberg. Since then Bilderberg meets once in the year in the most distinguished hotels of the world. What is discussed there behind locked doors, remains strictly secret, but we have no choice, whatever the Bilderberger decides will shape our future. They rank among the central organs of a world-wide shadow government.
The book explains:-
All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the new world order. Bilderberger David Rockefeller to 23.09.1994 before the US Business Council
In the Daily Mail on 31st October 2006 - page 17 (not on daily mail web site)

WHICH member of the Government attended the most recent Bilderberg Conference, the secretive - and to some, sinister - annual gathering of business tycoons at Kanata, Ottawa? Lord Stoddart, an independent peer who used to take the Labour whip, asked in the Lords if Britain sent any ministers, in a private or public capacity. Former social worker Lord Bassam, answering for the Government, avoided the question. Which suggests one or more ministers did attend. Talk about 'open' government.

Tony Blair was questioned in the House of Commons yesterday on his involvement with the secretive Bilderberg Group. Liberal Democrat MP, Norman Baker asked Blair to provide a full answer to a previous 12th October question about Bilderberg and whether Mr Blair had had any involvement in Bilderberg Conferences since he became Prime Minister in 1997.
The entry into the House of Commons records is below and can be viewed online:
Prime Minister Bilderberg GroupNorman Baker: To ask the Prime Minister pursuant to the answer of 12 October 2006, Official Report, column 862W, on the Bilderberg Group, if he will provide the information requested in respect of himself since 1997. [95308]
The Prime Minister: I have not attended any such meetings.
Is Blair telling the truth? Certainly he has lied about previous attendances to Bilderberg meetings, most notably the 1993 conference which he attended before he'd even become leader of his own party. One year after his attendance Blair became leader of the Labour party and a rapid rise to power, culminating in his election as Prime Minister in 1997, ensued that baffled many political analysts.
In 1998 an MP asked Blair the same question to which he gave the same answer, that he had never attended a Bilderberg meeting. However, the evidence clearly shows he was there. A number of mainstream media reports, plus the official Bilderberg attendee list, confirm that Blair attended Bilderberg in Athens in 1993. Furthermore, Parliamentary records prove he was there with long term member, and supposed opposition party stalwart Ken Clarke.
Tony Gosling at Bilderberg.org has tirelessly worked to expose the influence that the Bilderberg group has on world events. Here he analyses the incredible rise to power that other Western leaders have experienced after attending Bilderberg meetings.
Norman Baker, the MP who questioned Blair, has recently made waves in British politics by launching into a private, year-long investigation into the death of Dr David Kelly, the scientist who found himself under siege after apparently accusing the government of 'sexing up' the case for war to a BBC journalist.
Kelly, the UK's leading weapons inspector, was found dead under a tree on Harrowdown Hill in Oxfordshire after telling associates and friends that he feared that's what would happen to him. An inquiry set up under Lord Hutton duly reported that Dr Kelly had committed suicide. In a brave attempt to reveal the truth, Norman Baker disputes this conclusion.
Baker has also recently suggested that he sees inconsistencies in the official story of the 9/11 attacks.
This year's Bilderberg Conference was held in Ottawa Canada and was covered in depth by Alex Jones and the Infowars team who went through hell and high water to protest and raise awareness of the event.
Bilderberg has a proven history of acting in a kingmaker capacity, yet they are unelected and unaccountable to anyone. Their directives are driven towards undermining national sovereignty and establishing a world order that benefits their elite interests. Both Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were "groomed" by Bilderberg before becoming President and Prime Minister and the mainstream media reported that Bilderberg selected John Edwards as John Kerry's running mate in 2004.
Further Parliamentary records indicate that the shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer attended the Bilderberg conference this year. This is interesting given that Gordon Brown, a man on the verge of becoming the next Prime Minister, attended the Bilderberg Conference when he was shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1991.
A House of Lords minute entry dated 11th October also indicates that an answer is awaited on whether any ministers attended this year's Bilderberg Conference:
The Lord Stoddart of Swindon-To ask Her Majesty's Government whether any Ministers attended the Bilderberg Conference in Ottawa between 8th and 11th June; if so, whether they attended in a Ministerial or private capacity; whether they made contributions to debates; and, if so, on which subjects. [CO] (HL7569)
It seems that some members of The Houses want to know exactly who is attending Bilderberg meetings and in what capacity.

Oct. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Austria's opposition Social Democrats, led by Alfred Gusenbauer, unexpectedly won today's national election, beating Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel's People's Party after promising to reduce unemployment, to cut taxes for middle-income families and spend more on education.
The Social Democrats took 35.7 percent of the vote, or 68 seats in the lower house of Parliament, to 34.2 percent, or 66 seats, for the People's Party, according to provisional results.
Opinion polls during the campaign had shown the People's Party consistently ahead by between 2 and 5 percentage points.
``The Social Democrats mobilized their own supporters en masse in the past week by saying Schuessel should cancel the purchase of Eurofighter jets and increase pension payments instead,'' said Klaus Poier, a political scientist at the University of Graz. ``Many People's Party voters stayed at home as they were expecting their party to win anyway.''
Gusenbauer, 46, will now have the chance to form a coalition that will end Schuessel's 6 1/2 years in power. His most straightforward possibility is a ``grand coalition'' with the People's Party, along the lines of that formed in Germany last year by Angela Merkel.
The Social Democrat, who needs at least 92 seats for a majority in the 183-seat lower house, doesn't have enough seats to form a coalition with the Greens alone and has excluded alliances with the anti-immigrant Freedom Party or Joerg Haider's Alliance for Austria's Future.
The Freedom Party took 11.2 percent of the vote or 21 seats, the Greens 10.5 percent or 20 seats and the Alliance, Schuessel's current coalition partner, 4.2 percent or 8 seats.
The distribution of seats may change if the Alliance falls below 4 percent, the threshold for getting into Parliament, after all 420,000 postal votes are counted by Oct. 10, though analysts say the Social Democrats' lead is too big for the People's Party to overcome. Should the Alliance fail to win any seats, that might open the way for a coalition between Gusenbauer and the Greens.
``The result is a very deep disappointment,'' Schuessel, 61, who's been in power since February 2000, said on national television in Vienna tonight. ``We'll have to thoroughly analyze what went wrong here.''
The result was the closest in an Austrian election since 1962. Turnout, at 74.2 percent, was the lowest since World War II and 10.1 percentage points lower than at the last election four years ago.
The government's planned purchase of 18 Eurofighters, made by European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Co., will cost 1.96 billion euros ($2.48 billion), according to the Defense Ministry. Gusenbauer has said he wants to cancel the purchase of the planes and spend more on pensions and education instead. Delivery of the planes is expected to start next year.
``People in Austria think that the country is rich and wealthy but not everything is fairly distributed,'' Gusenbauer told national television, ``That's why people feel there needs to be a correction when it comes to pension payments, health'' and education policy, he said.
Gusenbauer has pledged to halt sales of stakes in partly state-owned companies such as Telekom Austria AG and Oesterreichische Post AG, a policy Schuessel's Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser had promised to continue.
``The Social Democrats won't be able to carry out everything they said they'd do,'' Wolfgang Matejka, chief investment officer of Vienna-based Meinl Bank, said in a telephone interview. ``The party will have to compromise.''
Gusenbauer has pledged greater investment to create jobs, arguing that unemployment, at 4.9 percent in July, in the country of 8.2 million people is still higher than when Schuessel came into office. He says tax changes under the People's Party have only benefited large companies, and smaller businesses need help to invest.
Gusenbauer's party recovered to win today after falling behind in the polls in March, following news of losses linked to hedge-fund investments at Bawag PSK Bank, owned by labor unions close to the Social Democrats.
The People's Party ran a campaign saying the Bawag scandal showed the Social Democrats couldn't run a business and wouldn't be able to run the government.
Last week, though, Profil magazine reported a link between Schuessel and Bawag, saying that the chancellor had been on a trip to Bulgaria with then-Bawag Chief Executive Officer Helmut Elsner in March 2003. The trip was sponsored by investor Martin Schlaff. The men attended the opening of the new headquarters of Bulgarian mobile phone company MobilTel. Schlaff's purchase of MobilTel was partly financed by Bawag.
Analysts including Werner Beutelmeyer of the Linz-based Market polling institute have said the magazine article hit support for Schuessel.
What would you think if all of the North-American sports team owners, for instance, met secretly every year where no media were allowed in or to interview any of the participants, where there were armed guards at all the doors and when they exited that meeting, the individuals hid their faces so as not to get photographed and refused to talk to reporters? What would the reaction be? Sports fans - and most everyone else - would be furious! We would wonder what kind of deals were they hatching, what were they plotting and planning that they didn't want the rest of us to know?
Sounds pretty weird, eh? But did you know that recently at a 5-star hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, more than 100 of the world's most wealthy and powerful individuals - called the Bilderbergers or the Illuminati or Synarchists - (and confirmed as including Hilary Clinton, George H.W. Bush, David Rockefeller, Gov. George Pataki of New York, the President of the Federal Reserve Bank, Henry Kissinger and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, whose family owns Royal Dutch Shell Oil) got together under just such circumstances to discuss the future of not baseball but the world as the rich and powerful want it to look like. At the end of their meeting they covered their faces, ashamed, as they sneaked out to their limousines to the airport.
On Wednesday, June 14th on the nightly "Coast to Coast" radio program from Los Angeles, host George Noory interviewed three men who have been long aware of the Bilderbergers but up until the past few years have been laughed at and dismissed as conspiracy theorists and worse - Jim Mars of Texas, author of "Rule by Secrecy"; Daniel Esheron, author of "The True History of the Bilderberger Club" and Alex Jones author of "Martial Law 911".
They discussed the One World Order the Bilderbergers have been planning for all the rest of us, to include the Canamex Highway which would run straight from Mexico, through the U.S.A. up to Canada with no border inspections; transponders for taxation purposes to be placed in all new automobiles (which has already come up for discussion in the Texas legislature); the U.S.'s future of undefended borders which started only recently when the government backed down on a plan to spend $60 million to update all U.S. ports; a future where the Bilderbergers will appoint all world leaders and return to feudalism and a plan to reduce the world population by 80-90 percent, to name just a few.
How, you may ask, can a group of only about 300 individuals get control over the rest of us? One way is by placing microchips in individuals (recently done by the President of a large American bank to "allow him access to secret vaults and store rooms in his bank"), the International Monetary Fund's Wolfowitz who will control the World Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank, all European banks, the Secretary General of NATO and therefore NATO itself; it includes the Tri-Lateral Commission's plan, already in process, of NAFTA, the Euro Group and to include a group of Asian countries.
Their plans, over the years, have already been witnessed - World War II, the Korean War, starvation of nations, Viet Nam, and the fact that virtually nothing is being done for the Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.

Bilderberg expects interest rates to rise and many Americans to lose their homes in the months ahead. Meanwhile, they hope they can pressure President Bush to refrain from an all-out invasion of Iran while maintaining oil prices at their current record-high levels of about $70 a barrel.
Timothy Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, predicted rising interest rates and difficulties for families that have obtained adjustable rate mortgages, or variable interest rates. Many are likely to lose their homes as rising home mortgage rates add hundreds of dollars to their monthly payments, he said. While most listened solemnly and some expressed concern, one was heard to say, stupid Americans deserve their fate.
Many Americans, especially young families, have been buying expensive homes at low but variable interest rates. Others have been paying just the interest owed on their homes and not the principal. They are the most vulnerable, Geithner said. Some have paid little or nothing down. Some institutions lend buyers the down payment.
When home construction peaks and prices start downward, many will find they owe more on their home than it is worth in the marketplace. They will also find their mortgageeven interest-only paymentsare unaffordable.
The banks will get the homes back and sell them again.
Again, the term stupid Americans was heard among clucks of sympathy or silent indifference. According to one source, no concern was expressed by Allan Hubbard, assistant to President Bush for economic policy.
European Bilderbergers said they would have no part in an invasion of Iran, something Bush says is an option on the table. Although NATO is helping by adding 9,000 troops in Afghanistan, expect no help if Iran is invaded, they said. We will not help you fight a war for Israel, one said.
Several noted that Israel has had nuclear weapons since at least 1963 and has never signed on to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, so no international inspections are conducted. It was the late George Ball, a charter member of Bilderberg who was No. 2 man in the State Department under presidents John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, who first revealed that Israel has nuclear weapons.
Is it not reasonable that Iran would need such a deterrence against Israel? an unidentified Bilderberger was heard saying. If you invade Iran, Israel is your only ally and good luck. One suggested that surgical strikesbut no land invasionmay be tolerated but others said they would be ineffective.
Listeners to this dialogue included Eival Gildy of Israel, head of coordination and strategy in the office of the prime minister, and Ziad Abu Amr, member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, president of the Palestinian Council on Foreign Relations and professor of political science at Birzeit University. Ahmad Chalabi, former deputy prime minister of Iraq and one of the key sources of disinformation about Iraqs weapons of mass destruction, was also present.
William Luti, special assistant to Bush for defense policy, and Richard Perle, former high Defense Department official and still a close adviser to Bush, responded that the United States is simply trying to stop the spread of nuclear weapons and make the world safe. But, said one European: How safe do you think the world will be if you invade Iran and Iran responds by firing missiles on your ally, Israel? Israel will nuke Iran in response and you will have your proliferation.
Robert Zoellick, deputy secretary of state, said it would be necessary to keep the invasion option to pressure Iran into agreeing to abandon its nuclear weapons program.
Youre wrong, the European answered. Iran simply refuses to be bullied by the United States. Save us a lot of trouble and forget about invading Iran. The Americans remained silent.
Bilderbergs mood was described as uneasy when it came to the issue of oil, a discussion followed closely by such oil-rich participants as banker David Rockefeller, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Franco Bernabe, vice chairman of Rothschild Europe.
The Latin American problem mixed the issue of oil with Bilderbergs scheme to expand NAFTA throughout the Western Hemisphere and have it evolve into an American Union patterned after the European Union. Hugo Chavez, head of Venezuela, is not only raising taxes on the extraction
of oil from his country, he is trying to establish a trade coalition with neighboring nations that would block the expansion of NAFTA by creating the Free Trade Area of the Americas.
Bilderbergs consensus seemed to be to not force higher oil prices at the moment, but be content with the immense profits enjoyed now.
Chavezs barrier to NAFTA expansion leaves them moody because establishing an American Union is a critical step toward Bilderbergs goal of establishing the United Nations as a world government.

Senior Turkish newspaper columnist Fehmi Koru, after participating in 2006 Ottawa Bilderberg meeting, has published six articles (titled: 'When I was in Bilderberg 1-6') on the meeting. Koru's articles show that being in Ottawa deeply changed his ideas and theories on Bilderberg.
It was expected that Fehmi Koru, who was the harshest critic of Bilderberg Organization and especially the journalists participating in but not writing on Bilderberg meetings, would reveal at least some secrets of Bilderberg. But Fehmi Koru, in the six articles he published during last week in Turkish conservative newspaper Yeni Þafak, has explained almost nothing about Bilderberg and has deeply disappointed his readers.
Koru preferred to go deeply into the debate about whether or not to accept an invitation from Bilderberg, rather than any 'inside story' of the conference. Koru strictly observed the 'Bilderberg's off-the-record rules so he did not name anyone who uttered the few quotations he published from the meeting.
Disappointed readers of Koru were shocked to read his last article in which he expressed his hope to be invited to next year's Bilderberg meeting that will take place in Istanbul (Ýstanbul), Turkey.

"The Bilderberg Group, that old network of power worshippers that conspiracy theorists believe runs the world, are always keen to attract the up-and-coming element to their gigs. They have just finished their gathering in Ottawa. The British contingent included Shadow Chancellor George Osborne and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, ED Balls.
They evidently like to hedge their bets.Poor old Lord Black used to be invited, but Conrad wasn`t on the list, even though the meeting took place in his homeland of Canada."

Filmmaker Alex Jones, researcher Jim Marrs and journalist Daniel Estulin (email) participated in a roundtable discussion about the secretive Bilderberg Group, which recently met in Canada. They want to bring about globalism-- a one-world government and economy-- but they are trying to push it through using secrecy and deceit, Marrs commented.
Estulin traced the history of the group which was founded in 1954 and got its name from the Bilderberg Hotel in the Netherlands, where they had their first meeting. Their real name though is the Synarchist Movement, he said, and the group of around 125 wields so much control because many of its members are the heads of nations or powerful organizations such as the Central Banks & NATO.
The Bilderberg group was mainly founded with Nazi money, said Jones, who pointed out that until recently the US press never reported on them-- but now the secretive yearly meeting is starting to get mainstream news coverage. He warned of their agenda to create a North American Union (merging the U.S. with Canada and Mexico), in which illegal immigrants will be made legal in America. Marrs encouraged people to "think globally but act locally,"-- voting for candidates who aren't backed by big money, for instance. He also noted that some states have made provisions to withdraw from the union if martial law is declared.
Estulin, who has studied the minutes of some of the Bilderbergers' meetings, cited how the group was associated with the war in Kosovo and seeks at times to destabilize regions. Interestingly, Jones said that there is currently a split in the group, with some members disagreeing over the agenda of the Iraq war and Iran invasion. Marrs concurred about the schism, and added that it appears they are "running scared" as though they were on a deadline, possibly due to upcoming geophysical changes.

Wednesday, June 14, 2006
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green Party leaders today issued their wrap-up assessment of the annual Bilderberg conference, to which no Green elected officials, candidates, or party leaders were invited.
The Bilderberg meeting, held this past weekend in a suburb near Ottawa, Canada, hosted 130 world leaders, heads of powerful corporations, and media representatives to discuss topics like free trade agreements, increases in gas prices, and foreign policy such as the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Despite the presence of leading media representatives and the discussion of issues of national and world importance, the meeting is secret and was unreported in the U.S. media.
"The Democratic and Republican parties are well-represented at Bilderberg, but Greens are never invited. Alas, we wouldn't fit it in. The Bilderberg conferences stand for everything the Green Party opposes -- concentration of the world's wealth and power among a small group of elite corporate and governmental leaders, whose agenda have become largely realized," said Julia Willebrand, Green candidate for Comptroller of New York, who noted reports that Bill Clinton was persuaded to support NAFTA as a result of his attendance at at least one Bilderberg meeting in the early 1990s.
Greens noted that one of this year's attendees is Ahmed Chalabi. Mr. Chalabi, who is wanted in Jordan for bank fraud, helped provide false intelligence about the presence of WMDs in Iraq, one of several fraudulent reasons for the U.S. invasion in 2003. Mr. Chalabi, a favorite of the White House and of U.S. warhawks and neo-cons, later became Interim Oil Minister of Iraq at the same time that the U.S. was opening up Iraq resources to foreign (i.e., U.S. corporate) ownership; he also now serves as Deputy Prime Minister despite his widespread unpopularity in Iraq. Greens called Mr. Chalabi's sinister presence typical of the Bilderberg meetings.
Other attendees at the meeting in Ottawa include former U.S. defense policy advisor and Iraq War architect Richard Perle, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, New York governor and possible presidential hopeful GeorgePataki, Royal Dutch Shell chair Jorma Ollila, former World Bank president James Wolfenson, banker David Rockefeller, Paul Gigot of The Wall Street Journal, and the corporate heads of Coca-Cola.
"Any meeting in which U.S. government leaders are gathering with other nation's leaders, corporate honchos, political thinkers, and other powerful world leaders needs to be reported in the media," said Bob Levis, Green candidate for Congress in Wisconsin (5th District) <http://www.boblevis.org>. "If the major media refuse to report on Bilderberg because they're part of the same cabal, then something truly ominous is taking place. This isn't conspiracy theory. It's conspiracy."

OTTAWA, CANADAAs Bilderberg gathers at the posh Brook Street Resort, there was concern that Latin America will use oil as a weapon to block expansion of NAFTA throughout the Western Hemisphere and whether Bush could be talked out of an all-out invasion of Iran.
Bilderberg is concerned that leftist governments in Latin America, led by Venezuelas Hugo Chavez, will use manipulation of oil supplies and prices to form an economic union that would include Brazil, Cuba, Peru and Mexico.
Such a union, by refusing to join NAFTA, would wreck Bilderbergs long-standing goal of expanding NAFTA throughout the Western Hemisphere and evolving it into an American Union patterned after the European Union. The dollar would become the common currency of the American Union.
Reaction to Chavezs earlier announcement that he would exact new taxes on companies that extract oil from his country was angry This directly affects Bilderberg, which has its own oil bloc, including Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and the Rothschild companies of Britain and Europe. Companies affected include Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp, Conoco-Phillips, Total, BP PLC and Norways Statoil ASA. Chavez also irritated the striped-britches boys by offering oil at low prices to impoverished locations in the United States and Britain. His domestic oil is subsidizedVenezuelans pay 12 cents a gallon.
There is a feeling expressed among Bilderberg luminaries that Chavez is having fun with them. They are not known for humor.
But Bilderberg says its policies are turning the Chavez threat around. Chavez hosted the OPEC meeting in Caracas but his proposal for a cut in oil production to boost prices was rejected. OPEC has maintained its official output ceiling at 28 million barrels a day since July 2005.
It has been reported that Mexicos Felipe Calderon of the America-friendly National Action Party now leads in the polls over the populist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in the July 2 presidential election. Although he is from the same party as President Vicente Fox, Calderon has cast himself as a rival who advocates improving Mexicos economy so there would be no incentive to illegally enter the United States.
In Peru, Ollanta Humala, who is friendly with Chavez, lost to former president Alan Garcia. While Bilderberg has celebrated Americas little wars, there has been opposition by the European wing to the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan from the outset. With NATO taking on a larger role in Afghanistan, the controversy has calmed a bit.
But European Bilderbergers fear a United States attack on Iran, which would have a tremendous global impact.
The meeting is set to begin on Friday, June 9. AFP will be there covering the event over the course of the weekend. The Bilderberg group takes it name from the hotel in Holland where the group met in 1954, during the earliest period of its inception. Bilderbergers meet regularly, presumably on a once-a-year basis, at various locations around the world, always in extreme secrecy, often at resorts controlled by either the Rockefeller or Rothschild families. The Rothschild family is the leading European force within the Bilderberg group, sharing its power with the American-based Rockefeller empire.
Bilderberg maintains an extremely low profile and seldom, if ever, publishes reports or studies for the public, at least, under its own official aegis. Participants denied the groups very existence for decades until it was forced into the open by the glare of media publicity, generated largely by the now defunct Spotlight newspaper. It follows so-called Chatham House rules, whereby attendees are forbidden to speak on the record about topics of discussion during the gathering.

QUEEN'S PARK BUREAU CHIEF
The provincial government will announce tomorrow that Ontario is embracing more nuclear power plants, sources told the Toronto Star.
Premier Dalton McGuinty has privately spoken of his government's plans to confidants for days, insiders say. In an off-the-record speech on Saturday night in Ottawa to the secretive Bilderberg group, McGuinty discussed the pros and cons of more nuclear plants.
While he did not divulge the government's plans to that audience of 160 business and political leaders, the premier privately admitted the public will officially learn of the plans tomorrow when his government announces its long-awaited response to the Ontario Power Authority's report on the province's energy supply mix.
Last December, the OPA, an arm's length agency, recommended in its 1,100-page report that Ontario spend up to $40 billion over the next 20 years to produce 12,400 megawatts of electricity from new or refurbished nuclear plants.
The authority said nuclear power would have to be 50 per cent of the province's energy mix through 2025.
"The government will soon announce our response to the Ontario Power Authority report," an aide to the premier said last night. "The premier repeated on Saturday what he has always said publicly, that we cannot take new nuclear off the table as we prepare Ontario's long-term energy plan."
Despite claims from his office that his speech was no different from one he delivered in Niagara Falls a year ago, insiders told the Star he was unequivocal in private conversations about his support for the controversial electricity source.
Ontario is already home to many nuclear facilities. There are six nuclear units at Tiverton's Bruce plant, plus two more being refurbished; four at Darlington in Bowmanville; six at Pickering, plus two that have been mothballed, and one decommissioned Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. reactor at Deep River.
To meet the OPA recommendations, Ontario would need about a dozen more reactors, which would take years to build.
Ever since the OPA report was made public Dec. 9, opponents of nuclear power have been attacking McGuinty for leaning toward that option. The Sierra Club has called the nuclear option "insanity" and Greenpeace called it a leap backward at a time when alternative sources should be sought.
McGuinty's staff deliberately omitted any mention of his speech Saturday to the Bilderberg session held at the Brookstreet Hotel in the Ottawa suburb of Kanata from his public itinerary.
The group, named for the Dutch hotel the organization first met at in 1954, holds its sessions behind closed doors amid tight security. In the past, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and former prime ministers Paul Martin and Jean Chrétien have addressed the organization.
Because participants in Bilderberg sessions are sworn to secrecy under threat of ex-communication from the group, politicians tend to lower their guard and speak candidly.
Insiders say McGuinty gave a "marvellous" Ontario-boosting speech interspersed with revelations about the province's need to move forward with more nuclear plants.
"He gave a stump speech on how great Ontario is and then (privately later) he said we're going to announce this week we're building new nukes," a source said.
Among those reportedly attending the Ottawa session were Ahmad Chalabi, former deputy prime minister of Iraq and a key proponent of the U.S.-led invasion of that country; Globe and Mail publisher Phillip Crawley; Coca-Cola chairman George A. David; Power Corp. CEO Paul Desmarais; Richard Holbrooke and Vernon Jordan, long-time top advisers to former U.S. president Bill Clinton; Henry Kissinger, former U.S. secretary of state; former New Brunswick premier Frank McKenna; Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands; New York Governor George Pataki; Iraq war architect Richard Perle; Heather Reisman, chair and CEO of Indigo Books and Music; Torstar president and CEO J. Robert S. Prichard and tycoon David Rockefeller, among many others.
It was the kind of power-broker audience the premier, who sat with Pataki, Reisman and Queen Beatrix, would want to reach when delivering a message about investing in Ontario and massive investment will be required to pay for $40 billion in nuclear plants.
His address came one day after Energy Minister Dwight Duncan confirmed that the Liberal government was being forced to break its 2003 election promise to close all of Ontario's coal-fired generating plants by 2007. That promise was later amended to 2009.
On Friday, Duncan said that even the 2009 date could not be achieved. As for the nuclear option, Jack Gibbons, executive director of the Ontario Clean Air Alliance, denounced the OPA's call for more nuclear power as "1950s-style solution to meet our electricity needs in the 21st century." NDP Leader Howard Hampton, author of a book on Ontario's electricity history, has railed against nuclear power because of environmental concerns and cost overruns.
But Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory has said Ontario needs a diverse energy supply to keep its manufacturing-reliant economy stable.

OTTAWA - Four days after they arrived quietly at a Kanata, Ont., hotel, the world's rich and powerful left just as mysteriously, in limos and SUVs with blacked-out windows.
The Bilderberg Group, a secretive organization of politicians and business leaders from around the world, gave no public statements. With private security guards and metal barriers keeping outsiders on the street, the Bilderbergers met in secret and then whisked themselves away in ones and twos, mostly to the airport.
What they talked about at the Brookstreet Hotel is still a secret. The group meets annually, and is usually rumoured to discuss international politics and business, from Middle East crises to oil prices.
They emerged singly Sunday Bilderberg president Etienne Davignon of Belgium, American David Rockefeller, Italian economist Mario Monti, European competition commissioner Neelie Kroes from the Netherlands, and, watchers thought, Iraqi politician Ahmed Chalabi.
Protesters on the sidewalk have their own version of the agenda: world domination, a merger of Canada with the United States and Mexico, hiding the cure for cancer, suppression of cars that get 200 miles per gallon of fuel, an invasion of Iran, and slavery for the common people of all countries.
About a dozen protesters stood outside Sunday, slightly fewer than on Saturday. Two police officers watched from across the street while others were inside the hotel.
They carried signs protesting the "NWO" (new world order) and denouncing the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks as "an inside job."
"When you've got this many high rollers in one place, then there's a story," said Geoff Matthews, editor and publisher of a small newspaper called the Kingston Eye Opener.
"In my opinion, what they started to plan about 10 years ago is the unification of North America without the consent of the people. It's now in fast-forward."
The meetings always draw intensely curious outsiders who believe the Bilderbergers need to be exposed. One of these is Daniel Estulin, a Canadian who moved to Spain about 15 years ago because, he says, the Central Intelligence Agency tried to kill him. He feels safer in Spain.
''I'm much further out of the reach of the secret service both Canadian and American.''
''I write the stories everyone else is afraid to write,'' he said.
He and others staked out positions on the sidewalk where they could get a clear view of the hotel's front door.
For hours, they watched through binoculars and telephoto lenses, waiting as men and women got into limos. Cameras clicked, and the Bilderberg-watchers scrolled through digital images afterwards, trying to identify which member of the group they had just recorded.
Alex Jones, a documentary filmmaker from Texas, showed up with two of his crew.
''Man, this is just evil,'' he muttered as he paced up and down, watching more limos drive past. He was detained on his arrival in Canada, but released after other media asked questions about him.
''It's a group of very powerful individuals whose objective is to create one world government, based on an economic model from the Middle Ages,'' he said. This would be ''a post-industrial model where you have slaves and slave owners.''

"When you've got this many high rollers in one place, then there's a story," said Geoff Matthews, editor and publisher of a small newspaper called the Kingston Eye Opener.
"In my opinion, what they started to plan about ten years ago is the unification of North America without the consent of the people.
He claimed to have Bilderberg insiders feeding him information.
Protester J. P. Arial of Ottawa was there for the fourth straight day.
"They're ruining our planet. They're suppressing free energy, controlling the food industry. They're forcing farmers to switch to genetically modified seeds,'' he said.
''They want to control everyone. No freedom, no democracy.''
But most residents took no notice of the black cars running in and out between the computer companies, past the lineup at Tim Hortons on March Road, and off to the airport.

This year's Bilderberg meeting brought a big surprise to Turkish people: One of the harshest critics of Biderberg organization, famous Turkish journalist Fehmi Koru was invited to participate Bilderberg 2006 - Ottawa meeting. He accepted the invitation and is now in Ottawa. Today's Turkish papers announced his participation.
Fehmi Koru, who writes daily for the conservative newspaper Yeni Þafak (www.yenisafak.com), is famous with his harsh criticism of Bilderberg and the Turkish participants of the mysterious organization's meetings. He wrote tens of articles about the evil influence of Bilderberg.
According to Koru's theory Bilderberg participants ware chosen very carefully to be assisted by secret world power centers through their careers and when they reach the key positions in a country's political scene, all begin to implant the Bilderberg decisions, plans and programs.
Koru's participation to this years meeting arouse much criticism and reaction.
Together with Fehmi Koru this year's Turkish participants of Biderberg are those: Mustafa Koç (Turkey's foremost industrialist), Güler Sabancý (Turkey's foremost businesswoman), Egemen Baðýþ (MP, Consultant of primeminister Tayip Erdoðan) and Soli Özel (international relations expert, journalist).

Ottawa (Agence France Press) - Leading representatives of business and politics got together last weekend for the annual Bilderberg meeting, that always takes place as far from the public eye as possible.
In the capital Ottawa met, for example, the Queen of the Netherlands Beatrix, the former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger, US Banker David Rockefeller and the Former Boss of the World Bank James Wolffensohn, as the daily newspaper "Ottawa Citizen" reported.
Conspiracy theorists say the conference is a conspiracy meeting, reporting its about nothing less than the power of the world. An observer, who had arrived from Spain, to report especially just the conference, said "the participants want to create a world government. They lead the world's elite and want to control all natural ressources of the world".
The Ottawa Citizen reported that this years conference themes like the oil market, security problems with Iran, terrorism and imigration to have been on this year's secret agenda. Former US-security advisor Richard Perle said on his arrival, that the Bilderberg Group will not talk about 'public order' during the 3-day-meeting. Drivers who pick up the illustrious guests from the airport, held a sign in their hands with a simple "B" on it.
This years participants also included the deputy chief of Iraqi government Ahmed Tschalabi, the CEO's of Coca-Cola, Crédit Suisse, Royal Dutch Shell and the Royal Bank of Canada, members of the government from Greece and Spain, and also some media moguls.
The Bilderberg-Conference met for the first time in 1954 in the "Hotel De Bilderberg" in Osterbeek, The Netherlands. It always ends without a finishing statement, there were no conclusions in writting, and not a word of the discussions are allowed out.

The scene was bleak. The tall hotel gleamed under the dark rain in the sky. Private security roamed the grounds with about ten stationed outside on posts and another two at the door. One Ottawa police cruiser sat in the parking lot with two police inside, two more stood by the door and, another two walked the grounds. A ambulance also sat on the premises next to ten golf carts.
About a dozen independent reporters stood outside in the rain on the curb. To step on the grass resulted in security coming to talk to you even if you just stood there and didn't advance. The only outsider who was able to get close was one lone Canada goose.
The hotel is around the corner from Lockheed-Martin while behind the hotel is the Marshes golf course. The area is fairly deserted and although, technically available by bus, it still happens to be far out. The hotel is far enough to be away from many watching eyes.
One reporter said that he might have seen Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Who was spotted earlier at the airport according to the Ottawa Citizen. The Citizen mentions her, David Rockefeller, Frank McKenna, Jorma Ollila, Egil Myklebust, Richard Perle, James Wolfenson though as I reported Conrad Black has also been spotted. They also report that "attendees will also include New York Governor George Pataki, deputy prime minister of Iraq Ahmad Chalabi, the heads of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, the Royal Bank of Canada, a number of media moguls, and cabinet ministers from Spain and Greece."
At the hotel there were only black sedans and, Brookstreet hotel vans which came through the barricades. One sedan had someone in the back seat who ducked down and only came up once he had cleared our sight. Other sedans came and went however, one of which had diplomatic plates and others had members who were rushed inside while their luggage was unpacked from the trunks. Some members came outside to smoke, only one of which I was able to get a good look at. He was Mediterranean, but I was unable to recognize him directly. None of important names came outside during the period though. Pictures of the hotel and security are on the way from my photographer.

By EARL MCRAE, OTTAWA SUN - 9th June 2006
http://www.ottawasun.com/News/OttawaAndRegion/2006/06/09/1621811-sun.html
We all need a little insanity in our lives and here's mine: The Bilderberg Boogie.
Raindrops are falling on my head as I stand behind the security barricade well back of the Brookstreet Hotel where dark limos with tinted windows pull up to the front entrance sporadically throughout the day, dispatching figures who dart quickly inside through the phalanx of grim-faced guys dressed like undertakers.
Who, I ask myself, are all these undertakers, and uniformed cops dotting the landscape around the hotel, securing? The conspiracy theorists say it's the Bilderberg Group, the so-called world secret government of politicians, potentates, industrialists, militarists, and oil barons who set the real life and death agendas for us all, and have arrived for a weekend of new agenda-setting, concealed, as always, from the plebian public.
If it is the Bilderberg Group, with its paranoia for secrecy, then I'm thinking these geniuses have been struck monumentally stupid. The Internet and newspapers have had stories for weeks that the Bilderbergers will be meeting this weekend at the Brookstreet Hotel. Knowing this, which they had to, you'd think the Bilderbergers, allergic to publicity, would have cancelled the Brookstreet Hotel for a resort on a remote island somewhere.
That's if it is the Bilderberg Group. With the saturation security, maybe it's Oprah or Pamela Anderson or whoever the hell yesterday's fleeting superstar was in pop music.
Or maybe it's the "French pharmaceutical group" and the "Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs charity tournament" people. When I did the Bilderberg scope-out at the hotel a week ago, manager Patrice Basille told me those were the only two groups booked for this weekend, and it was impossible for anyone to make a reservation -- all rooms were booked.
Either Basille is part of the Bilderberg grand conspiracy of silence, or the "French pharmaceutical group" and "Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs charity tournament" are in need of massive security, the reason for which is beyond me.
The only way, I decide, to find out if it's Bilderberg or BSberg is to get past the security into the hotel. So, I walk two blocks down the street, cut into a parking lot of a hi-tech company, and take a circuitous route back to the rear of the hotel, hoping it'll be bereft of security.
First, though, my eyes scan the golf course adjoining the hotel, where the guests have privileges. I figure if I see Osama bin Laden napping in a sand trap, I'm Bilderberg bound. Bin Laden, when checking in, would ask for a sand trap, not a room.
I don't spot bin Laden, but, unfortunately, do spot one of the undertakers at a barricade I'd have to get through to get in. Back of the barricade is the hotel's wrought-iron fence, its locked gates extra-secured with thick, wrap-around, bike-lock wires.
If the Bilderbergers and Brookstreet can practise subterfuge, so can I. "I'm staying at the hotel," I tell him, "I need to get in."
"Do you have your security pass?"
"Security pass? I'm just an innocent guest. Pass for what?"
"All room guests were given passes by the hotel. Not even the police get by me without a pass."
"I guess they forgot to give me a pass -- why, what's going on here anyway?"
"A conference of some kind. That's all we were told. I have to stand here for 12 hours."
"Are you with the hotel?"
"No. Iron Horse Security." He shows me the photo ID card around his neck: Eric Thivierge.
"Dressed like that? You look like you're going to a funeral."
"The client wanted us dressed up this way. All in black. Why, I don't know.
"Normally, we wear company uniforms with our logo. I didn't have a black jacket. I had to go out and buy one."
"All this for just a conference? What do you do if somebody tries to get by?
"Shoot them?"
"No, I don't have a gun. It's illegal. I'll call for help." He holds up his cellphone. "See that other security guy down there? Maybe he can get somebody from the hotel to bring you your pass."
I stroll along to the other Iron Horse Security guy. Andre's his name. Black pants, black shoes, black suit jacket, white shirt, dark tie. I play blissfully inquisitive. "All I know," he says, "is that it's a think-tank of some kind with big shots from around the world."
"Have you seen any of the big shots?"
"I wouldn't recognize them even if I did. I'm told there'll be a couple of monarchs, though."
Andre says he had to buy his own shirt, tie, and pants. Cost him about $100.
"I'm hoping somebody will reimburse me."
Bill the Bilderbergers, Andre. Reimbursement is the least they can do for having you Iron Horse guys wandering the hotel grounds looking like a convention of gloomy undertakers in search of a funeral. But, of course, you'd first have to recognize these secretive publicity shunners.

I'm afraid that you don't understand that the Bildeberg meetings include owners of the media outlets that are sworn not to reveal any of the discussions. The old Spotlight newspaper, now driven to bankruptcy by these Zionist media owners, used to have inroads by using the help of waiters, busboys and others attending the Bilderberg meetings to obtain the agenda and even report on what was discussed.
I doubt seriously, that the New York Times, Washington Post, the Sultsbergers or the Grahams would have the slightest desire to betray the Rothschild, Warburgs and Kissingers, Rockefeller cabal who sit in the catbird seat at these meetings of heads of Europe's aristocracy, members of their governments and state departments in mufti who plan and synchronize with the Royal Institute on International Affairs and its Councils on Foreighn Relations to do their bidding, especially within the highest levels of our U.S. government, in our congress and in Great Britain, Australian, Canadian and the European Union of governments.
The United States is no longer a democratic represntative republic, but rather it is controlled by foreign interests, stemming from the Enlightenment, Weishaupt's and Mazzini's Illuminati and Free Masonry where man is considered his own God and whose future lies in the Godless, U.N. run world government without borders, without sovereignty; the U.N.'s Charter replacing the Constitution and where there will be a world based on Hilliary's International Socialism with an unelected elite class dictating the rules and the judgements over mankind. It is Luciferian and it is visably happening in the silent invasion from Mexico and the undeclared non-war wars that are bringing down our economy and our once proud society.
Our people have been dumbed down by a rotton education system instituted by the likes of the socialist John Dewey. Our money systems is based on fiat paper without solid value. Our people are not taught American History, rather world history; where pride in nationhood is considered not politically correct; civics is also not taught to high school students and most can't write a decent sentence or are aware of the diffrence between the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

The limo drivers had them, so did the luggage tags -- signs with a single B -- and they were the ticket to get into the Bilderberg meeting at the Brookstreet, write Andrew Mayeda and Glen McGregor.

Greeted at the airport by limousine drivers holding single-letter "B" signs, global luminaries such as Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands began quietly slipping into Ottawa yesterday for the annual gathering of the ultra-secretive Bilderberg Group.
Over the next three days at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata, they and other prominent political and business leaders from North America and Europe are expected to discuss issues such as the security threat posed by Iran and the direction of oil markets.
The group's discreet approach was evident as attendees arrived yesterday at the Ottawa Airport.
Outside the airport, a phalanx of limousines lined up to ferry guests to the Brookstreet, where security guards with ear pieces kept watch over the barricaded entrance to the hotel parking lot.
Limos were also dispatched to the nearby Shell Aerocentre to retrieve participants arriving on private aircraft. Some attendees had the single-letter "B" on their luggage tags.
Approached by a Citizen reporter upon his arrival, former U.S. defence policy adviser Richard Perle shot down criticism about the secrecy of the group's meetings. "It's a private organization," he said. He denied the charge, advanced by Bilderberg critics, that the organization crafts public policy behind closed doors. "It discusses public policy," he stressed.
Mr. Perle also dismissed suggestions that the group's heavy representation from the oil industry gives it influence over energy prices. "If it did, I'd be trading on oil futures," he said.
A former assistant secretary of defence to president Ronald Reagan, Mr. Perle is still considered an influential adviser in U.S. conservative circles. He advised President George W. Bush and is said to be a close friend of Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
In 2003, he publicly chastised the Canadian government for refusing to send troops to Iraq and warned that "lame-duck" prime minister Jean Chretien would be embarrassed once weapons of mass destruction were found.
Also seen arriving yesterday were Jorma Ollila, chairman of Royal Dutch Shell, Egil Myklebust, chairman of Scandinavian Airlines, World Bank president James Wolfenson, and Frank McKenna, former New Brunswick premier and ex-Canadian ambassador to the U.S.
According to an unsigned press release sent by fax yesterday, presumably by Bilderberg organizers, attendees will also include New York Governor George Pataki, deputy prime minister of Iraq Ahmad Chalabi, the heads of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, the Royal Bank of Canada, a number of media moguls, and cabinet ministers from Spain and Greece.
The release confirmed this year's meeting will deal with energy issues, Iran, the Middle East, terrorism, immigration, Russia, European-American relations and Asia.
"The meeting is private to encourage frank and open discussion," said the release. "There will be no press conference."
Security was relatively light at the airport, with only a few uniformed police on hand.
But at the Brookstreet, the parking lot in front of the hotel was completely emptied and entrances to the lot were barricaded. A tow truck removed any vehicles that did not comply.
Private security guards in black blazers guarded various points around the hotel perimeter, including the golf course behind the Brookstreet. A number of Ottawa police officers also provided security.
Guests who stayed at the hotel on Wednesday night were asked to check out by 8:30 a.m. yesterday, several hours earlier than usual. The hotel is closed through Sunday.
The sidewalk in front of the hotel has become an improvised campground for conspiracy theorists and dedicated Bilderberg watchers, few more colourful than James P. Tucker Jr., a 71-year-old writer who says he has covered every Bilderberg conference for the last 30 years.
Mr. Tucker, who recently published a book called the Bilderberg Diary, said he spent several days this week casing out the hotel, plying Brookstreet bartenders for information over glasses of tomato juice.
"For years they denied their very existence," said Mr. Tucker, dressed in a black pinstriped suit and straw hat. "Well, they certainly influence the world."
Daniel Estulin, who flew from Spain to cover this week's conference, is such a regular on the circuit that he is on a first-name basis with Bilderberg security officials.
"Their main objective is creating a world government ruled by an elite group of people whose main objective is to control all the natural resources of the planet," said Mr. Estulin, who brought a small camera to snap photos of the Bilderbergers as they arrived in dark luxury sedans with tinted windows. Some of the sedans had sheets of paper bearing the trademark "B" on the dashboard.
But the Bilderbergers also attracted curious onlookers who only recently learned about the event through the media.
"There are all sorts of gaps in what politicians say and do. This is just another example of the circumventing of the democratic process," said Cindy Mogensen, who took a break from work yesterday to check out the conference.
Although the discovery of the actual place and venue of Bilderbergs annual meeting happened only two weeks ago some Canadian papers have already spoken about this carefully hidden event. 'Bilderberg Fever' is sweeping Ottawa and the talking point amongst friends sometimes in hushed, worried, tones.
This is already a small victory because for many years there is absolutely no publication before the meeting. The last time where this occurred was in Sweden, for the meeting arranged in Stenungsund in the year 2001. Swedish are fierce and proud peoples, they dont like a secret, some say occult, power to meet on their soil without their knowledge. Without their democratic assent.
They hardly reacted and obliged their press to speak and the main Swedish Bilderberg representative Mr. Wallenberg was forced to give an interview before the conference. Jim Tucker, veteran of the Bilderberg hunt was submerged with interviews that year. Because Swedish people are respecting themselves, they were respected by their Bilderberg Masters for a week. Let's hope the Swedish people remember what they heard.
This is normal when living in a democracy. You will tell me: well, are Bilderbergers or this year's ex-SAS man Alan Bell's security firm in any way democrats? Your question is mine and I do believe that your answer will be mine as well. Elite power is in no way democratic.
Bilderberg's event has more consequences than a relaxed annual soiree of the intellgencia. Above the plutocratic apparatus of 'appointment of friends to power', every year they see their broad aims achieved. Their goal is continuous moves towards their vision of global government by banks and giant corporations and is not simply about the pleasure of meeting 'old friends'.
Through NATO and the Atlantic Ocean, between the worlds two richest peoples, a consensus towards a world with the same economic and political values is taking place with very little opposition. Those with power who do oppose those values are invited to Bilderberg to see the error of their ways as was former UK Labour party leader John Smith in 1991.
Canada has the chance to have a national press that Mr Harper doesn't like. He is even refusing interviews from it, preferring the regional press. Mr Harper was a guest of Bilderberg 2003 in Versailles, France when he was just a Canadian party leader.
As was saying Mr Davignon to an English paper, nobody is guilty when the choice of the Bilderberg secretariat is a good choice. Except when the choice is in fact coming directly from the steering committee
As far as I have read personally from French Canadian peoples internet forums and some English ones, I believe that the honor to show some resistance today in Ottawa will originate from joint work between the two communities and I greet in advance the Canadian courage to protest as so righteous and respectable as the Swedish one in the past.
If Bilderberg continue to stonewall the press this inevitably will build up speculation, suspicion, resentment and accusations of totalitarianism. Some good questions have to be asked by the press with the adequate answers from key Bilderberg figures such as David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger.
This never occurred in 53 years of meeting. Will this occur this year?

Canadian authorities detained an American activist filmmaker at the Ottawa airport late Wednesday night, confiscating his passport, camera equipment and most of his belongings.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada agents stopped Alex Jones, whose films include Martial Law 9/11: The Rise of the Police State, and questioned him for nearly four hours before letting him go with only one change of clothes and telling him to return Thursday morning.
Its really chilling, like a police state, said Mr. Jones of his detention.
Mr. Jones and his crew, camera operators Ryan Schlickeisen and Aaron Dykes, travelled to Canada to film a documentary about the Bilderberg group, a secretive group of former politicians and business leaders who are meeting in Ottawa this week.
A Citizenship and Immigration representative said that her department was unable to comment on Mr. Jones detention.
As a result of the privacy act, we are forbidden from discussing individual cases, said Marina Wilson, spokesperson for the department. Im not aware of this ... (detention) is at the discretion of our visa officers.
Mr. Jones said that he and the agents had reconciled prior to his release.
I want to say, on the record, it takes two to tango. I could have handled it better.

An elite private security firm has been hired to guard a top-secret meeting of some of the world's most powerful business and political leaders at a Kanata hotel starting today.
Members of the Bilderberg Group will descend on the upscale Brookstreet Hotel for the three-day meeting, several police sources confirmed yesterday.
At least four off-duty Ottawa police officers will be part of the security for the event.
The highly secretive session, expected to touch on global issues such as the direction of oil markets and potential military action against Iran, will run through Sunday.
Senior Ottawa police officers met yesterday afternoon to discuss preparations for the event, which police are concerned may draw the attention of anti-globalization protesters as well as present a potential security risk as a collection of the world's richest and most influential people gather under one roof.
When asked about police plans for the event, a police spokeswoman referred the Citizen to Alan Bell of Globe Risk Holdings.
Reached by phone, Mr. Bell -- who is listed as president of Globe Risk Holdings in Toronto and a former SAS paratrooper commando -- said he hadn't heard of the Bilderberg Group and denied that his firm has been hired to guard this week's conference.
"Never heard of that conference. What is it? What do they do?" said Mr. Bell before politely cutting the conservation short.
But according to the company's website, Globe Risk Holdings specializes in "strategic planning and counter-measures," recruits its consultants primarily from elite military counter-terrorist and special forces units, and has "undertaken consultancy and project work worldwide in areas of high risk" including Africa, Central and South America and Asia.
"The consultants at Globe Risk Holdings have proven backgrounds in military, special forces, law enforcement and government organizations with real life expertise in the areas of international security, mining, energy exploration security, counter-terrorism, kidnapping, specialized training, close protection, sabotage prevention, and military/law enforcement," reads the company website. "Knowledgeable and discreet, our consultants work together as a team to offer the quality of service necessary to meet all our clients' needs."
It's not known if any current heads of state are expected to attend the meeting.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been linked to the group after attending a Bilderberg conference in Versailles, France in 2003. A spokeswoman for the prime minister said yesterday he would not be attending the conference and that officials at the Prime Minister's Office weren't aware of the event.
The Bilderberg Group is named after the Dutch hotel where it held its first meeting in 1954. Since then, the group has met annually in various locations throughout North America and Europe, including Toronto in 1996 and the Chateau Montebello in Quebec in 1983.
The list of attendees at last year's conference in Germany is believed to have included the queens of Spain and the Netherlands, former U.S. secretary of defence Henry Kissinger, World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz, as well as top executives and directors at such multinational corporations as BP PLC, Siemens AG, Deutsche Bank Group and DaimlerChrysler AG.
Canadian attendees are believed to have included Robert Pritchard, chief executive of TorStar Corp., and Heather Reisman, chief executive of Indigo Books and Music Inc.
The group was originally conceived as a forum for bridging the political and economic divide between Europe and the United States during the Cold War. But in recent years the group has taken on a mystique, perhaps due to the secretive nature of the meetings.
The group has no website, and attendees promise not to disclose the subject of the talks. Even newspaper and magazine editors and media executives who attend the event are sworn to secrecy.
Bilderberg insiders say the approach enables participants to discuss political and economic issues without worrying how their opinions will be spun by the media. But it has also made the group a prime target for critics and conspiracy theorists who say its members come to important decisions about global public policy behind closed doors.
Whatever the case, Brookstreet staff are staying tight lipped about the conference. The hotel's general manager, Patrice Basille, didn't immediately return a call yesterday. He has previously said he was unaware of the event.
A Citizen reporter who called to make dinner reservations was told the hotel will be closed between June 8 and 11 to accommodate a private function.
They were welcomed by an exquisite array of cakes bearing the flags of the world. In the evening, they dined on venison -- or was it quail? -- but only after the Bilderberg tasters made sure nothing was amiss with the sauce.
It has been more than two decades since one of the most powerful and exclusive clubs in the world held its annual meeting close to Canada's national capital.
But if this weekend's conference at the Brookstreet Hotel is anything like the meeting at the Chateau Montebello in Quebec in May 1983, it will be a closely choreographed affair swathed in luxury -- and a discreet but omnipresent layer of security.
Today, Jacques Ternois is director of hotel operations at charter airline Air Transat. But when the Bilderberg Group met in Montebello, about 30 kilometres east of Ottawa, he was in charge of food and beverage operations at the resort.
Mr. Ternois doesn't remember the exact menu served to the Bilderbergers, but he does remember the security guards stationed at the kitchen doors, the background checks that his staff had to undergo, and the food "consultants" brought in to oversee the meal.
Nevertheless, Mr. Ternois said the extra precautions weren't intrusive and the conference went off smoothly.
"I wouldn't say it was secretive. I would say low key," he said. "They were very simple in their demands."
Mr. Ternois said attendees came and went at various times throughout the conference due to their tight schedules. He couldn't recall all the names on the guest list -- after all, he was working -- or what they discussed.
"If I'm not wrong, I think (Henry) Kissinger was there," he said. "There were several heads of state or close to that."
Critics and conspiracy theorists find the group's clandestine ways disturbing. They accuse the group of seeking to depose political leaders and set global oil policy.
But Bilderberg insiders insist the reality is far less sinister.
"I don't think (we are) a global ruling class because I don't think a global ruling class exists," Bilderberg chairman Etienne Davignon told the BBC last year. "It's people who have influence interested to speak to other people who have influence."
Mr. Ternois, for his part, says the Bilderberg conference was one of the most prestigious events with which he has ever been associated. He still keeps a photo at home of resort staff and some of the attendees.
"It has a special place in my heart," he said.

A COTERIE of conspiracy theorists is in town to cover the top secret meeting of the western world's elite -- believed to be coming to a Kanata hotel tomorrow and ending with the full moon on Sunday.
As is usual with Bilderberg venues around the world, staff at the Brookstreet Hotel won't confirm or deny reports the shadowy and powerful group will be there tomorrow.
Jim Tucker of the populist American Free Press insists everyone from Prime Minister Stephen Harper to Henry Kissinger and David Rockefeller will be there.
The Washington, D.C.-based Tucker and his fellow Bilderberg-watchers will be hunting for helicopters and limousines.
"I've chased these kids all over Europe and North America for over 20 years now," said Tucker, 71, in his southern drawl. "History has verified everything I've ever written."
Politicians, royalty and tycoons from Europe and North America have been meeting secretly every year since 1954, spawning a string of conspiracy theories.
Bilderbergers say they're building transatlantic understanding, frankly talking about the issues but prefer to do it in private where invited participants can speak freely.
Even mainstream critics say they are elitist, undemocratic and unaccountable. Others finger Bilderbergers as building a self-serving world government, pulling strings behind the scenes and planting their candidates in politics and other positions of power to serve their needs.
This year, they'll again be talking oil prices, Tucker said.
"Last year we reported on plans for oil prices to increase dramatically," he said. "At that time, oil was as low as $40 a barrel. Then it shot up to $70 a barrel. They do affect us.
"Conspiracy is fact when you have 120 of the world's most powerful men and they conduct public business behind closed doors with armed guards."

Conspiracy Theory (1): Minutes before leaving for the Brookstreet Hotel, the Shin Kicker opens the fridge to pour a drink of orange juice, a bottle of beer falls off the shelf to the floor, shattering, glass and suds everywhere, and he cuts his thumb and middle finger cleaning it up.
Not that the Shin Kicker is paranoid, but the thought enters his mind: Somebody doesn't want him heading out to snoop around the hotel looking for evidence of the mysterious Bilderberg Group rumoured to be coming there in a week for a top-secret conference of its members: The western world's top political leaders, power brokers, financiers, oil barons, military masters who meet in cloak-and-dagger anonymity and secrecy for the purpose of devising strategies to control the planet; a clandestine government above governments with the power to engineer elections, assassinations, commodity markets, and pretty well what it damn well pleases.
The Internet is rife with reports that the cabal is definitely meeting at the Brookstreet Hotel, but the owner, Terry Matthews, won't confirm it. The hotel manager says he hasn't a clue. What is known is that when one on the inside knows about the shady movements of the Bilderberg Group, the edict is: Shut up, you know nothing.
The Shin Kicker will scope out the hotel for signs of the necessary advance groundwork being laid -- mouths speaking furtively into shirt cuffs.
Conspiracy Theory (2): The Shin Kicker sees the grey, monolith of a hotel against the sultry sky, and then slams on his brakes as the vehicles ahead of him on March Rd. come to a sudden standstill approaching the intersection of Solandt Dr. For 15 minutes, the Shin Kicker is stuck while cops attend to the collision that occurred. The Shin Kicker gets the message from the Brookstreet Hotel: Back off, Shin Kicker. But ever foolhardy, he pushes on.
The hotel lobby is silent and empty. No suspicious looking characters. The Shin Kicker takes the escalator to the second-floor meeting-rooms area. He sees a sign of the day's meetings: Ministry Of Tourism Ontario Travel Centre. Probably a briefing session in the event the Bilderbergers want a private tour of the region.
Conspiracy Theory (3): Cimetrix Solutions. Probably a briefing session for when the Bilderbergers need a printer from the company that markets, services, and supports the state-of-the-art Dimension 3-D version.
Conspiracy Theory (4): Global Network Solutions. "In the 21st century world economy, the economic fortunes of nations will increasingly rise or fall on how and when firms build, access, and position themselves in global industry knowledge networks."
Conspiracy Theory (5): The Shin Kicker spots a door half open and glimpses a man speaking to others and he doesn't see the Shin Kicker. The sign outside the door says Global Network Solutions. The Shin Kicker scribbles in his notebook what he hears the man saying: "The network access server creates a secure (mumbled) with the triple-A server. It means somebody on that land won't be able to intercept your communication."
That's it, the Bilderberg cat's out of the bag. The Shin Kicker scurries to the front desk. He speaks to a woman named Christie, assistant manager of guest services.
Shin Kicker: "When's the Bilderberg Group coming in?"
Christie: "Bilderberg? What's that? I wouldn't know what groups are coming in until the day before."
Shin Kicker, skeptical: "Would you tell me even if you did know about Bilderberg?"
Christie's answer is a shrug of her arms and a smile.
The Shin Kicker leaves the hotel. He phones back and asks for the manager. His name is Patrice Basille. The Shin Kicker doesn't know if there is or was someone named Bilderberg, but he decides to go for broke. "Yes," he says in a thick German accent, "this is Karl-Heinz Bilderberg calling to confirm my reservation for June 8th to the 11th. My group has been booked for that weekend."
Basille: "Are you with the French pharmaceutical group, sir?"
Shin Kicker: "No, Bilderberg."
Basille: "Are you with the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens charity tournament? Those are the only two groups we have booked for that weekend."
Shin Kicker: "No, Bilderberg? I'm Karl-Heinz Bilderberg. Do you have my group booked?"
Basille: "I don't have anything under your name or any such group, sir."
Shin Kicker: "Hmmm. Very strange. Well, can I make my reservation now, then?"
Basille: "I'm sorry, sir, but we're all booked up for that weekend."

Bilderbergers are nervous about their host for this years secret meeting near Ottawa, Canada.
But this is not the first time the new Conservative prime minister, Stephen Harper, has been part of this elite group of secret world leaders. Harper was photographed at the 2003 meeting in Versailles, France.
The Kyoto Treaty to reduce air and water pollution is a Bilderberg baby and Canada signed off on it years ago. Former President Bill Clinton, a Bilderberger, dutifully embraced Kyoto. But test votes showed it would be rejected overwhelmingly by the Senate if submitted for ratification. So it remains in White House files, much to Bilderberg distress.
The new Canadian prime minister may also be ruffling feathers among Bilderbergers.
At UN climate talks that ended May 26 in Bonn, Germany, Canada said it is unable to meet a legally binding target to cut emissions of heat-trapping gases by 2012 and that it will take part in an extension only if all nations agree.
The Canadian government of Stephen Harper is trying to sabotage 15 years of international efforts to address climate change, the Climate Action Network said.
Negotiators from 163 nations that have signed onto the UNs Kyoto Treaty met in Bonn to discuss ways to extend it beyond 2012 to prevent climate changes they say cause heat waves, droughts and floods.
Canadian newspapers reported that Ottawa had instructed its Canadian negotiators, saying: Canada will not support agreement on language in the work program that commits developed countries to more stringent targets in the future.
Poor nations signed on easily because they are required to do nothing and are exempt from limitations placed on industrialized countries. For example, Mexico can build smokestack industries on its U.S. border. If the United States signed, even more U.S. industries would move to Mexico where they have no restraints and are not burdened with U.S. laws on ecology, minimum wages or required benefits, such as paid vacations.
But Kyoto was pushed by Bilderberg for the same reasons it wants a direct UN tax, favors NAFTA and the WTO and turned NATO into the UNs standing army, among other actions: it is a step on the road to creating world government.
When Bilderberg gathers behind armed guards at the Brook Street Resort near Ottawa June 8-11, Harper will greet the 120 leaders in international finance and politics for the second time in his life. But even as they politely applaud, Bilderbergers will eye Harper with suspicion.
AFP correspondent James P. Tucker Jr. is a veteran journalist who spent many years as a member of the elite media in Washington. Since1975 he has won widespread recognition, here and abroad, for his pursuit of on-the-scene stories reporting the intrigues of global power blocs such as the Bilderberg Group and the Trilateral Commission.

The meetings of a secretive global think-tank would bring 100 of the world's most powerful and influential figures to Ottawa next month and make a Kanata hotel the host of deliberations on such weighty issues as the direction of global oil markets and potential military action against Iran.
Reports circulating on the Internet say this year's Bilderberg conference will be held June 8-11 at the Brookstreet Resort -- a rumour the hotel would not confirm.
But if a gathering in Ottawa is anything like past Bilderbergs, invitees will be drawn from the pages of International Who's Who, with a emphasis on political and corporate leadership and strong representation from the oil and banking industries. Guest lists typically include names like Kissinger, Rockefeller and Soros.
The obsessive secrecy that accompanies Bilderberg conferences could also draw Ottawa into the insane conspiracy theories that surround the group. The Bilderberg has been accused of being everything from a Zionist cabal building a single global government to a secret star-chamber that seeks to fix the price of oil and presidential elections.
But even some rational critics suspect that the Bilderberg's meetings set the economic and political agenda for much of the industrialized world -- without any public oversight or accountability. They denounce the Bilderberg as elitist and overly secretive, calling it an anti-democratic gathering of "the high priests of globalization."
The conference takes its name from the Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands, site of the first meeting in 1954. The group's intent was to link governments and economies in Europe and North America amid the Cold War. But its mandate has evolved, and it now exerts a global influence with interests in foreign policy in general and energy in particular.
The small guest list is selected by a steering committee with representatives of major North American and European countries.
Several Canadian political figures have spoken at Bilderbergs, including prime ministers Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien, New Brunswick premiers Bernard Lord and Frank McKenna, and former Ontario premier Mike Harris.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper's office would not say yesterday whether he has been invited to attend the rumoured Ottawa meetings. Mr. Harper attended the 2003 conference in Versailles, France.
Patrice Basille, general manager of the Brookstreet Hotel, said no event associated with the Bilderberg group has been formally booked at the hotel. He said two conferences, one out of Montreal and another out of Toronto, are booked for the weekend of June 8.
"What is the Bilderberg?" he asked. "This is the first I've heard about it."
The hotel's owner, prominent Ottawa entrepreneur Terence Matthews, would neither confirm nor deny the reports.
"Does that sound like an event I would host?" he asked. He declined further comment.
What exactly happens at Bilderberg remains blanketed in secrecy -- or, as the organization prefers, "privacy." Journalists are not allowed to attend the sessions, which are held within a tight clench of security.
Staff at the host hotels are told not to confirm or deny any event is scheduled and there are never any "Welcome Bilderberg Guests" signs in sight. At some conferences, lobby windows have been draped with sheets to block the prying eyes of the press.
Contrary to Internet mythology, invitees do not sign blood oaths of secrecy, but they are strongly encouraged not to discuss who said what during the closed meetings, to allow for freer flowing discussions.
Not all of the attendees are comfortable with the pervasive secrecy, says Britain-based journalist Tony Goslin, who runs a website devoted to uncovering the Bilderberg secrets and making the group more publicly accountable (www.bilderberg.org). There is enough leakage from past conferences to determine generally what is discussed, he said.
"There is pretty much a preoccupation with the Middle East and oil at most of the meetings," he said. "The whole idea is to meet a consensus, but it is a fairly narrow consensus. Most of the banking power in the western world is behind Bilderberg policy, and particularly their energy policies."
Mr. Goslin says that two issues will likely concern the Ottawa meeting: How to deal with Iran's alleged nuclear threat, and the direction of Venezuela's oil industry under the leadership of leftist president Hugo Chavez.
The right-wing website americanfreepress.net reported yesterday that Bilderberg was coming to Ottawa. Mr. Goslin said several of his sources have also confirmed the date and location.
There is little reason to expect the kind of organized demonstrations seen at G8 summits or World Trade Organization meetings, he said. Past Bilderbergs have attracted only small and sometimes eccentric protests.
Norman Spector, a former chief of staff to prime minister Brian Mulroney, says he knew little of the suspicions that surrounded Bilderberg when he attended a conference in the early 1990s.
"It's hard to understand the conspiracy stuff. Most of the people were publicly visible," he said. "They weren't like the gnomes of Zurich or shady financiers. They were all people you'd see on a Sunday morning talk show."
Mr. Spector says his strongest memory of the event is that the guests were seated along cafeteria-style tables in alphabetical order -- to avoid offence, he suspects. That put him at a table next to Queen Sofia of Spain.
Canada last hosted the conference in 1996, when participants invited by newspaper publisher Conrad Black gathered at a resort north of Toronto.
The Canadian location had more imaginative observers speculating wildly on whether the group was hatching secret plans for Quebec's secession or drawing up a blueprint for the annexation of Canada by the United States.
The discussions, in reality, were far less dramatic.
The group merely aims to "promote a stimulating discussion," with "no direct impact on policy matter," Mr. Black told the Citizen in 1999. "Some mystique is associated to it but only because its meetings are held discreetly."
Bilderberg was last held in this region in 1983, when the conference came to the Chateau Montebello in West Quebec. Then, with Ronald Reagan occupying the White House and Yuri Andropov the Kremlin, the East-West divide was the top issue on the table.
Nothing gets tongues wagging like a group of 100 or so world power-brokers meeting in secret. Over its 52-years, conspiracy theories about the Bilderberg Group have abounded, including:
Glen McGregor , with files from Andrew Mayeda.

By James P. Tucker Jr.
The secretive group known as Bilderberg will hold its annual secret meeting at the posh Brook Street Resort a few miles from Ottawa, Canada, June 8-11.
The location and part of the agenda was disclosed to American Free Press by a source inside Bilderberg's inner circle.
High on the Bilderberg's secret agenda this year are oil prices and the political upheaval in Latin America. When meeting last year in Rottach-Egern, Germany, Bilderberg called for dramatic increases in the price of oil. Oil prices started climbing immediately from $40 a barrel to $70.
Whether Bilderberg will call for still higher prices is unclear, but Henry Kissinger and others had gleefully anticipated ultimate prices at $150 a barrel a year ago. Bilderberg is certainly concerned about supply, which is related to the "Latin American problem," as one insider said.
Approximately 120 international leaders in politics and finance will also discuss the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, which has caused a rare breach between American Bilderbergers and their European counterparts since the United States Iraq invasion in 2003. Whether the United States should invade Iran is also high on the agenda.
Bilderberg is especially concerned about Venezuela, where as part of a plan to increase revenues from its petroleum industry President Hugo Chavez said May 7 he would impose a new tax on companies that extract oil from his country. Big Oil is represented at Bilderberg by Jeroen van der Veer of The Netherlands, chairman of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group and Franco Bernabe of Italy, vice chairman of Rothschild Europe, among others. "We are going to create a new oil tax, called the tax on extraction,"
Chavez said. "The companies that are pumping oil in Venezuela are making a lot of money."
Chavez accused foreign oil companies of exploiting his country's vast petroleum reserves without paying sufficient taxes. Venezuela is the world's fifth-largest oil exporter but has troubled oil barons by sending cheap petroleum to needy American families and subsidizing domestic use so local citizens pay 12 cents a gallon.
Venezuela has voided oil-pumping contracts with private companies at 32 fields and replaced them with a mixed-company model that gave Venezuela's state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela SA a minimum 60 percent stake. Chavez has also sharply raised royalties and taxes, and reduced potential drilling acreage by almost two-thirds. He is also resisting expansion of NAFTA throughout the hemisphere, a prime Bilderberg goal.
Chavez's outspoken criticisms of the United States make it unlikely that American Bilderbergers can help smooth over the supply problem. However, banker David Rockefeller's family has always had a heavy interest in oil and other investments in South America.
President Bush will have a top White House aide representing him at Bilderberg, and high officials of the state, defense and treasury departments will attend. Heads of state and other high officials in government and banking will attend from Europe and Canada.
Bilderberg's agenda also includes the turmoil in the Middle East, nuclear proliferation, with an emphasis on Iran, North Korea and Pakistan, and global warming.
Participants denied the groups very existence for decades until it was forced into the open by the glare of media publicity, generated largely by the now defunct Spotlight newspaper.
from PEPIS #75
Venezuela and Iran, two great global 'problems' which, backed by most of the private money in the world, Bilderbergers will attempt to 'solve' in Ottawa next month. The public's majority view however, which they will scrupulously ignore, is that Venezuela and Iran represent two great bastions of freedom which have defended the views of their respective populations and refused to bow to the totalitarian dominance of the biggest war machine the world has ever seen and the fascist Project for a New American Century.
This year, the tenth I have covered Bilderberg, credit for pinpointing the venue is shared between Jim Tucker in Washington and Brussels activist Marek Tysis' scrutiny of Turkish language website, islamdevleti.org. Hearty thanks to everyone. Henry Kissinger and his co-conspirators edge closer every year to their goal of stopping ANY coverage of what is plainly the most powerful political and economic congress in the world. What BBC online called 'The Ultimate Conspiracy Theory'.
Those who enquire about Bilderberg's power are expected to wait with baited breath for an incomplete list of participants, delivered as the last luminary's car leaves the hotel. I know embarrassingly powerful people are removed because I spoke to the woman who served Tony Blair his breakfast at Turnberry in 1998. He was not on that year's list. I suppose Kissinger and friends get some kind of cheap 'kick' smuggling their superstars in and out.
If leaks are correct, this year's meeting will involve a 'dance macabre' celebrating the outbreak of 'democracy' in Iraq where only 80 people a day are shot dead or blown up and looking forward to repeating that 'success' in Iran. In secret session just a stone's throw from the Skull and Bones' Deer Island in the St. Lawrence river, they will bemoan the 'sectarian divide' and forget that the al-Askariya congregation in Samarra, wiped out in February, was one of those many mosques where Shi'ite and Sunni worshipped together.
So which 'faction' was responsible for killing their own people? Or was it the SAS, caught a few months earlier with explosives and dressed as arabs, or the CIA or Mossad who really destroyed that holy place and killed over 160 people? This is the equivalent of having the SAS demolish Westminster Cathedral and blaming it on Arabs. Think on.
Not since Dr Goebbels in the 1940's has the Western public been subjected to such daily repeated lies right across the news media about Iran, the Western plutocrats' latest 'rogue state'. In an incredible feat of myopia, the BBC scrupulously fails to mention that Iran is keeping to the letter of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which Israel with its bristling nuclear arsenal still refuses to sign.
How easily the BBC mandarins have scrapped their motto - Nation shall Speak Peace unto Nation - as they fire off volleys of pseudo-intellectual cover for another round of carnage. Hundreds of thousands, even millions more Islamic murders are in prospect. In the vilest betrayal BBC Current Affairs managers and editors have turn a blind eye to the fate of the Jews just sixty years ago.
Meanwhile their fellow travellers at Bilderberg prepare to rotate their palms towards us, smile, and explain that they are nothing more than an innocent private club. Kissinger, Rockefeller and the rest will be crossing their fingers behind their back and hoping we don't notice the ten wealthiest bankers, five most prestigious European royals, four richest oil men, three biggest media barons (now minus bang to rights Conrad Black - well done Mounties!) and a bunch of frightened politicians are dreaming up more nightmares to poison our children's future.
Rather than the old silence, the New Labour press here in the UK, The Guardian now paints Bilderberg as the victim, defending their right to neither confirm nor deny, doffing the cap, and failing to inform their readers that this unelected body sits at the global black heart of the capitalism they make a pretence of opposing.
As Britain's respected daily paper of the left The Guardian Jason Walsh Blog's defence last week of Bilderberg, Skull and Bones and Neo-Con puppet Blair are appalling betrayals.
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/jason_walsh/2006/05/a_conspiracy_of_dunces.html
Scrupulously ignored in their and the BBC's coverage is the fact that Bilderberg's founder, recently deceased Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands was a enthusiastic member of Hitler's elite SS before World War II. Neither will they mention umbilical ties to the freemasons' 500,000 strong religious cult whose most trusted personal assistant Andrew Palmer organised the last UK Bilderberg conference.
So, do the Guardian and the BBC chiefs not know these facts? - or simply not believe them? Whichever is true both BBC and Guardian censor all my letters and comments, (this is one of the latest http://www.bilderberg.org/2006.htm#cohen ) even on the web. The most appallingly murderous right wing conspiracy in the history of our planet is being airbrushed from our consciousness.
The Guardian's editor Alan Rushbridger held back recently from fully dishing the dirt on his close friend David Mills, proven perjurer and partner of publicly exposed (on all five UK channels) money launderer Secretary of State for Culture Tessa Jowell. She has been left unharried by Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Ian Blair while she personally supervises the 'reorganisation' of the BBC board of governors.
The commons enquiry into criminal allegations of cash for peerages has somehow ground to a halt even though until someone is charged there are no restrictions on anyone discussing the subject and the committee are covered by parliamentary privilege. How these idiotic MP's were persuaded to drop their enquiry is beyond me. This means that the subject of criminal offences by top New Labour politicians has disappeared at least until late Autumn when MP's return from their summer recess.
The worm at the core of the Metropolitan Police Sir Ian Blair is not just a liar, he has also failed to question the prime suspect in the most shocking crime in the British mainland since World War II, last year's London bombings. Haroon Aswat, who US intelligence analyst John Loftus swears had access to MI6's military explosives and is known to have made several mobile phone calls to the four suspects in the London bombings just before the attacks, languishes in Belmarsh prison and is about to be extradited to Guantanamo Bay where the US authorities want to question him.
So meanwhile, back at the Bilderberg steering committee, Kissinger, Queen Bee and the rest of the gang are planning to use their obscene capital wealth for totalitarian ends of war. They have no thought or interest in feeding and house the poor of the world.
Rather than forgive strangling debt they will be doing everything in their power to use debt and their virtual private monopoly on the creation of money to acquire more and more of our world. African state water companies, Britain's Channel Three ITV network, everything our councils and our governments hold in trust for we the people, the list goes on.
We are sleepwalking into a world unfit for future generations, for our old age and human habitation. Ruled by crooked banks and corporations hell-bent on owning everything on our earth. A global plutocracy. Pinochet, Franco, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini's dream.
So what can anyone do about it? We must all actively join the global movement against the impunity of these power grabbing crooks. To support the freedom fighters in Venezuela, Columbia, Iraq, Iran and in the USA, UK and elsewhere in the West. The crooks are protected by interlocking secret-society colleagues across the criminal justice system, but only if we let them. Victories have been few and ironically for Bilderberg this year Canadians have shown the way to bringing down Conrad Black, hater of trades unions and fraudster extraordinaire, the world has a lot to learn from the tremendous efforts of the Canadian Authorities to fearlessly arrest, charge and prosecute.
We must also prohibit all freemasons or other members of secret societies from holding any public office. The publication of full membership lists for each individual Masonic province, these follow the city and county councils here in the UK and each of the old British colonies is its own province. Provinces publish secret list of all members of that province. ALL these people must be excluded from public office as they have sworn an oath to their fellow members that precludes them from acting in the public interest.
Dare we hope for a surprise arrest warrant served by the Mounties at this year's Bilderberg? Maybe for Kissinger's role in overthrowing the democratically elected government of Chile and installing one of the 20th century's most brutal dictatorships. That would be a good start to this year's conference.

22May06 - By James P.

Dear reader, this is the 71st Letter of an Autonomous Thinker
Everybody should know that a small group of super-rich people that live on the safe and privileged eliteworld (far from our often harsh massworld) takes decisions without and over us.
In 1968 Ferdinand Lundberg for example wrote the book "The rich and the super-rich" (Bantam Books 1968) in which he pinpointed many of the super-rich and also described what they did with the money they had amassed.
But, though it can be interesting to know who the top people of the world are, this knowledge will not transform the world. Therefore human activity is needed. I propose that masspeople invade the eliteworld. Then the elite will be confronted with the "other people". Decisions should not be taken in favour of a small group of already privileged people but to advance all humanity. See for example my concept of the action method Creative Disturbance, http://members.chello.nl/jsteenis/violencedemocracy19.htm .
The central question is not how many super-rich there are but where they are. Where is the eliteworld and what can masspeople do to unite the massworld with the eliteworld to get the New World on which everyone has equal status.
The eliteworld is an isolated part of our earth where masspeople are not welcome. In the massworld die for example each year five million children because they do not have enough food to survive. Problems as inadequate food, housing or schooling that can easily be solved only exist in the massworld. They are non-existent in the eliteworld.
But where is the eliteworld?
Let's assume that most masspeople earn less than 4000 euro a month and that elitepeople have mostly a much higher income. (The amount of 4000 euro is arbitrarily and some masspeople will earn more while some elitepeople temporarily can earn less than this amount).
When you earn less than 4000 euro per month you cannot afford to stay in 5-star hotels, to travel first class on a plane (or possess your own jet), to have security guards to protect you and your possessions, to buy a car of 200.000 euro or a house of 2.000.000 euro. You cannot become member of a golf club that ask a 100.000 euro a year, to shop in Bangkok when you are living in Europe or to sit on the best places on the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. You cannot afford to pay 500 euro for a diner, 20 euro for a glass of beer or wear clothes that cost 10.000 euro a piece. You are not allowed to enter the elite world because you have not enough money.
I could lengthen this litany about things elitepeople can and masspeople cannot afford. Many things are exclusively reserved for people with money. Our world looks unified but in some places you see only elitepeople.
Elite- and massworld are separated from each other. Some masspeople are allowed to enter the eliteworld as servants, as a lesser kind of humans that makes the life of elitepeople more comfortable. These masspeople are not considered to be real people. Elitepeople do not have a human conservation with the butler and the rest of the personnel is even more invisible.
I only give a vague idea where the eliteworld can be found. Maybe later I will give more details but I think that everybody can discover where the eliteworld is. There live the people with power, there decisions are taken. But most actions take place in the massworld as is the case with demonstrations and other actions in front of official buildings (when the top of the elite is never targeted). I call on masspeople to invade those elitist places they are not allowed to enter. Only then the road to One World for all people will be opened.
Most political analysts concentrate on the question who the elitepeople are that reign over the masses, who the Illuminati are, who the members of the Bilderberg Group are. I concentrate on the reason why they want to be on top of the world. They only want to have the power to remain forever in the agreeable eliteworld that is far from the often not so very nice massworld. I propagate to invade the eliteworld in order to confront the elite with the fact that there are more humans on our earth than elitepeople. They should be drowned in the sea of masspeople. And because there are more than a hundred masspersons for each eliteperson, it must be possible to get a New World on which all people have equal status.
Yours truly, Joost van Steenis

I have sent the following e-mail this afternoon to the UK's Department of Constitutional Affairs:
http://martinkelly.blogspot.com/2006/04/request-under-freedom-of-information.html
Dear Sirs,
I wish to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 relating to Edward Balls MP.
Before his election to Parliament in 2005, Mr. Balls served as Chief Economics Adviser to HM Treasury, a Civil Service position, between 1999 and 2004. During that period he is also reported to have attended three meetings of the international non-governmental forum commonly referred to as 'The Bilderberg Group'.
The first was reported to have been held between May 24-27 2001 in Gothenburg, Sweden -
http://www.global-elite.org/elitewiki/index.php?title=Bilderberg_2001_May_24th-27th
The second was reported to have been held between May 30-June 2 2002 in Chantilly, Virginia, USA -
http://www.global-elite.org/elitewiki/index.php?title=Bilderberg_2002_May_30th_-_June_2nd
The third was reported to have been held between May 15-18 2003 in Versailles, France -
http://www.global-elite.org/elitewiki/index.php?title=Bilderberg_2003_May_15th-18th
On all these dates Mr. Balls held what was presumably a non-political role within the Civil Service, and received his remuneration from the public purse.
I request that the following information be supplied to me:
1. Confirmation of whether or not he attended these events;
2. If he did, a full record of all that was discussed at these meetings; and
3. Again, if he did attend, why Mr. Balls in particular was selected for these assignments.
I would also wish clarification of the following two matters:
1. If Mr. Balls did attend, why a civil servant was present at a forum which appears to have no basis in any law, treaty or protocol, either national or international; and
2. Confirmation of what Her Majesty's Government understands the nature and purposes of the Bilderberg Group to be, and why it is deemed appropriate for a taxpayer-funded public servant to be despatched to their meetings for several days, when presumably there might be matters of domestic administration to which they might otherwise be attending and for the performance of which they are receiving salary. Copies of that body's constitution and rules of procedure are also requested. "
I've given them my solicitors' contact address details, and told them I'll be posting it on the blog.
They have 20 working days to get back to me. We shall see what the outcome is.
I am not afraid to admit that I'm actually a little afraid.

Book Reporter - AUTHOR TALK April 2004
http://www.bookreporter.com/authors/au-lynds-gayle.asp
In this interview Gayle Lynds talks about THE COIL, the sequel to her bestselling thriller MASQUERADE. A former magazine editor and newspaper reporter, Lynds had a first-hand taste of the world about which she writes when she was an editor at a private-industry think tank where she held top-secret security clearance. She worked on defense projects that ranged from new hardware designs for weapons of mass destruction to test trial results of cutting-edge military software and new methodologies in counterterrorism. Scientists, engineers and operatives passed quietly through the doors.
Q: The Chicago Sun-Times calls THE COIL "spellbinding," which is what a great thriller is supposed to be. One of the most unusual aspects of it is that it's also the story of a family of spies and assassins. In some ways, I'm reminded of the enormously popular TV series, The Sopranos. Are you doing for espionage what The Sopranos did for the Mafia?
GL: I hadn't looked at it that way, but I like the description. I have an affliction: I'm easily bored. So I counteract it by looking for what's unsaid or hidden or simply missed. In this case, I'd noticed that for years --- from Eric Ambler to Frederick Forsyth today --- authors were portraying their spies as lone wolves, idiosyncratic men (and a few women) who were mavericks and independent thinkers. That's generally true in real life, too.
The problem was that they were also routinely giving their main characters histories of divorce, murdered spouse(s) and/or endlessly failing love affairs.
Most people don't realize there are families of spies, just as there are families of teachers and lawyers and plumbers. For instance, it'd be difficult to find many people in the United States who haven't heard of the notorious traitor Aldrich ("Rick") Ames. What few realize is that both he and his father were CIA case officers.
When Ames's treachery was unmasked, I'd already written MASQUERADE, which features the notorious Cold War assassin known only as the Carnivore, his daughter, who's CIA and the widow of a CIA man, and his niece, who soon will be involved with the CIA, too. Eventually she also marries a CIA man. That book went on to be a New York Times bestseller and People magazine "Page-Turner of the Week."
In its sequel, THE COIL, the saga continues, this time bringing in the English branch, which includes the Carnivore's nephew, MI6 operative Simon Childs.
Every family has secrets. Imagine the secrets and stresses and unspoken guilt that infuse families of spies and assassins. Plus, of course, there are the very real responsibilities that intelligence officers carry. These are not small responsibilities. Operatives work in a world where the individual is always less important than the greater good. That's fertile ground for a novelist. THE COIL takes the family to the next level, just as it seems as if they've slipped back into being stable, even somewhat normal.
Q: At the end of MASQUERADE, your heroine, Liz Sansborough, wanted to return to her work in the CIA, but Langley wouldn't take her back because they had discovered her father was the Carnivore and believed the relationship made her high risk, even unreliable. So when THE COIL opens, it's several years later and she's a university professor who's done a complete reversal: Her specialty is the psychology of violence. I can remember reading no other action-adventure novel recently where the leading character wouldn't carry a gun. Why did you make that choice?
GL: From my viewpoint, a novelist's first job is to entertain and, even better, to enthrall. But that doesn't happen in a vacuum. There must be substance. And of course substance can come from many arenas. For instance, I'm captivated by politics, culture, history --- and psychology. In today's world, the subject of violence seemed important to investigate. For instance, what exactly IS violence? And what does it mean? Do you --- does anyone --- know?
Some people think suspense thrillers are supposed to be thoughtlessly brutal, doused in blood. From my viewpoint, "supposed to be" is not terribly interesting. So as THE COIL opens, Liz has reexamined her life. After all, she's a scholar in violence now. At the same time, she was raised by assassins, became a field operative who carried a gun and killed, her husband was liquidated by the Islamic jihad, and her mother died in an "accidental" explosion. What a heavy-duty history.
Considering the circumstances, her turning against deadly violence made a lot of sense. As she explains, "The problem is, violence isn't some kind of impartial raw material like butter or steel. It's not ethically and politically neutral. Just because someone thinks a cause is worthy, that doesn't mean the violence that's 'necessary' for the cause is worthy."
When Liz's cousin is kidnapped in Chapter One, and the ransom demanded is the Carnivore's files, Liz must make tough choices. At first she uses her wits and karate to defend herself and others. Then the stakes soar. How she handles her moral questions and whether her insights about violence remain unchanged seemed to me to be timely and, well, fascinating --- the sort of thriller that makes my pulse race.
Q: The Coil is a secret group of international moguls with staggering power. According to your Author's Note, they're based on a real one. Tell us how that happened.
GL: About nine years ago during other research, I stumbled upon one of those paragraphs that are the lifeblood of a novelist. It mentioned a yearly meeting of powerful world leaders that called itself the Bilderberg Group. I was instantly intrigued. Unlike the World Economic Forum, with its hundreds of government and business VIPs who usually gather in Davos, Switzerland, and Allen & Co., which is legendary for its smaller but even more elite summits in Sun Valley, Idaho, I had never heard of the Bilderbergers.
For good reason. As it turned out, the organization not only shuns publicity, it requires attendees to keep their invitations secret and to divulge nothing about the weekend itself. I spent months confirming the Bilderbergers even existed, although it had been founded decades before, in the early 1950s, and half its membership includes famous Americans like Henry Kissinger, Donald Rumsfeld, James D. Wolfensohn (the World Bank) and Donald Graham (The Washington Post).
Today, the Bilderbergers are quietly but publicly acknowledged in Europe and Canada, but not here in the United States, not yet, which of course intrigues me even more. By the way, they named themselves for the venue in the Netherlands where they first met --- the Bilderberg Hotel.
We novelists tend to base our tales on actual events, and then we turn to our imaginations. I theorized that since such an exclusive congregation existed, it was logical at least one small cabal based upon mutual interests had formed within. So I took bits and pieces of what I knew about the real Bilderbergers and created a similar group I called the Nautilus (named for a fictitious hotel on the north coast of France where I imagined they first met in the early 1950s). Then I called the cabal the Coil, for the hidden spiral within a Nautilus shell.
Q: Then are the Bilderbergers what led you to write about globalization in THE COIL?
GL: Yes. In real life, the Bilderbergers initiated the European Common Market, which of course grew into the enormously powerful and, at least in my opinion, useful European Union. Unlike Adolf Hitler and Kaiser Wilhelm II, the EU is successfully uniting Europe without devastating war.
The Bilderbergers are also credited (or discredited) with fueling the formation of NAFTA. I suspect we'll eventually see a similar trade association in Asia, because the Bilderbergers want it. But it's not going to happen for quite a few years; the economic problems associated with NAFTA --- particularly the loss of jobs to other countries because of globalization --- will slow the formation of other large trade associations.
In any case, globalization is now a hot topic, and it should be, because it's impacting all of us. However, when I first began writing THE COIL, I'd mention it and people would say, "How do you spell that?" It's amazing how quickly events have caught up with THE COIL.
Q: What's next for you? More spy stories? What about terrorism? That seems to be the focus of the clandestine services these days.
GL: I like what Robert Gates, former DCI, once said: "When a spy smells flowers, he looks around for a coffin." Secrets of all sorts --- from the offices of heads of state to the safe houses of the clandestine services, from Afghani caves to the hot and dusty training camps of the next generation of fedayeen --- are my literary meat. Right now, the flowers are being carried mostly by terrorists of all sorts, and the stink is pervasive.
In THE PARIS OPTION, I wrote about the ETA (Basque nationalist movement) being secretly backed by a branch of al-Qaeda. The recent bombing attacks on trains in Madrid, in which hundreds were killed and injured, may be a tragic affirmation of that link, since the bombings appear to be the work of al-Qaeda, perhaps via the Basques.
The threat is escalating of terrorist groups finding common ground not only because of their various shared money-washing fronts and banks, but because their youngest members are training together right now in such diverse places as Pakistan and Algeria and Idaho. These brainwashed youths are the next generation of terrorist leaders. On a very small scale, if Chechnya separatists sweat with al-Qaeda commandos learning hand-to-hand combat in the Philippines, and November 17 trains with the Shining Path in Iran, they have laid foundations for future cooperation that could have devastating consequences.
By the way, that sort of cooperation is addressed also in THE COIL. So, yes, my next novel deals with a specialized aspect of terrorism, and that's all I'm going to say about it. As J. Edgar Hoover once explained, "There's something about a secret that's addicting." This one, I'm keeping.

http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/march2006/130306milosevicmurdered.htm
Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com
Slobodan Milosevic was a distasteful man with authoritarian Communist ideals. But the reasons for his murder revolve around his evergreen willingness to blow the whistle on the global criminal masterminds who had made the mistake of giving 'Slobo' a speaking platform in the first place.
Just two days after Milosevic's death the evidence indicating murder has poured in.
- Milosevic wrote a letter one day before his death claiming he was being poisoned to death in jail. The lawyer who advised Milosevic during his trial, Azdenko Tomanovic (pictured below) , showed journalists a handwritten letter in which Milosevic wrote: "They would like to poison me. I'm seriously concerned and worried."
- Blood tests show that Milosevic's body contained a drug that rendered his usual medication for high blood pressure and his heart condition ineffective, causing the heart attack that led to his death.
- The media has spun this to make out as if Milosevic deliberately took the wrong drug so he could seek specialist treatment in Moscow and delay his trial. This is frankly absurd. Milosevic only had access to the drugs provided to him by UN appointed doctors and took them under close surveillance. Are we to believe that Milosevic had managed to set up a secret drugs lab in his closely watched prison prison cell and then substituted the drugs while under constant monitoring?
- Milan Babic, a former Croatian Serb leader who testified against Milosevic was "suicided" just six days before Milosevic's death. According to the BBC, tribunal spokeswoman Alexandra Milenov said he had given no indication that he was contemplating suicide. "There was nothing unusual in his demeanor," she said. Another Hague detainee, Slavko Dokmanovic, supposedly killed himself in 1998.
- Allegations of suicide were dismissed by British lawyer, Steven Kay QC, who said Milosevic had told him before he was found dead: "I have not come all this way not to see it to the end."
- The Globalists have wanted to eliminate Milosevic for a long time. Former MI6 agent Richard Tomlinson said he saw documents in 1992 that discussed assassinating Milosevic by means of a staged car accident, where the driver would be blinded by a flash of light and remote controlled brake failure enacted to cause the crash. This exact same technique was utilized for real in the murder of Princess Diana.
Milosevic was a loose cannon with intimate knowledge of the criminality of the Globalists after the IMF/Bilderberg coup de 'tat in Serbia in the 1990's.
In March 2002, Milosevic presented the Hague tribunal with FBI documents proving that the United States government and NATO provided financial and military support for Al-Qaeda to aid the Kosovo Liberation Army in its war against Serbia.
This didn't go down too well at the Pentagon and the White House, who at the time were trying to sell a war on terror and gearing up to justify invading Iraq.
Milosevic made several speeches in which he discussed how a group of shadowy internationalists had caused the chaos in the Balkans because it was the next step on the road to a "new world order."
During a February 2000 Serbian Congressional speech, Milosevic stated,
"Small Serbia and people in it have demonstrated that resistance is possible. Applied at a broader level, it was organized primarily as a moral and political rebellion against tyranny, hegemony, monopolism, generating hatred, fear and new forms of violence and revenge against champions of freedom among nations and people, such a resistance would stop the escalation of modern time inquisition. Uranium bombs, computer manipulations, drug-addicted young assassins and bribed of blackmailed domestic thugs, promoted to the allies of the new world order, these are the instruments of inquisition which have surpassed, in their cruelty and cynicism, all previous forms of revengeful violence committed against the mankind in the past."
Milosevic was far from an angel, but evidence linking him to genocides like Srebrenica, in which 7,000 Muslims died, was continually proven to be fraudulent. In fact, Srebrenica was supposedly a 'UN safe zone', yet just like Rwanda, UN peacekeepers deliberately withdrew and allowed the massacre to unfold, then blamed Milosevic.
Milosevic's exposure of UN involvement in the Srebrenica massacre was another reason why tribunal transcripts were heavily edited and censored, and another contributing factor towards his murder.

AFP'S JIM TUCKER BEGINS QUEST FOR BILDERBERG
By James P. Tucker Jr.
American Free Press is busily engaged in the annual ritual of hunting down the Bilderberg Group, which will hope to meet in secret this spring. When the last rock is turned over and their location and meeting times unearthed, AFP readers will be the first in America to know.
Some sources believe Bilderberg will meet near Innsbruck, Austria, as it did in 1988. Others think somewhere in North America, as Bilderberg has a number of times over the years. Adding weight to this theory is that it is North America's 'turn' to host Bilderberg.
Typically, the power elite meets in Europe for three years, then in North America. The last Bilderberg meeting on this side of the pond was in Chantilly, Va., in 2002.
Uncovering the secretive group of international financiers and political leaders is a difficult annual challenge. A year ago, the precise location and date in Germany were finally uncovered by journalist and AFP collaborator Danny Estulin of Spain. AFP Managing Editor Christopher J. Petherick had to call this sleuth in the middle of the night and tell him to 'grab his other pair of socks' and head to Dulles Airport in northern Virginia.
In 2000, when yours truly was with the now defunct Spotlight, it was positively determined that Bilderberg would meet in the area of Brussels, Belgium, June 1-3. But the precise location was unclear.
I was standing at the Men's Bar in the National Press Club, bag packed and waiting for the shuttle bus to Dulles, when the break came. An old friend who was involved in international commerce and who was personally acquainted with many Bilderberg luminaries, had, as usual, been helping in the search.
He called me with the precise location. I then called the news office and the front page of the newspaper was taken apart and put together again to reflect the breaking news.
This old Bilderberg hound is hoping we don't have to cut it that close this year. But it gets tougher every year and I'm keeping a week's supply of clean shirts on hand at all times.
INSIDE BILDERBERG
And although I'm not usually such a shameless self-promoter, I would recommend that every AFP reader purchase my book, Jim Tucker's Bilderberg Diary. In this 280-page book I recount the adventures I have had tracking down Bilderberg and crashing their party every year (almost) for the past 25 years.
I've also included dozens of exclusive photos snapped by me and my colleagues of the meetings and which few-if any-other Americans besides the readers of this paper and The Spotlight have ever seen. I think you'll especially like the photo with me and Maggie Thatcher, who agreed to a private meeting with me after she realized Bilderberg was more than a 'tea and crumpet' party. She came out publicly against Bilderberg after that and was the victim of a Bilderberg campaign to have her defeated in herre-election bid as Britain's prime minster.
Bilderberg doesn't like it when 'their own' expose the group. There's lots more in the book but I wouldn't want to ruin all the surprises for you. By the way, the proceeds from the purchase of the book will go to help fund my travel expenses and the other costs AFP incurs bringing you these exclusive Bilderberg reports.
Jim Tucker's Bilderberg Diary: One Reporter's 25-Year Battle to Shine the Light on the World Shadow Government is available from AFP, 645 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Suite 100, Washington, D.C. 20003. Or call 1-888-699-NEWS. Get your copy for just $18 (reg. $24.95) if you mention - Jim Tucker sent me.
(Issue #8, February 20, 2006)
Greetings from Canada,
I cannot thank you enough for your excellent coverage and website of the Bilderbergers and their nefarious activities which has been an eyeopener.
Have you noticed that our new "Christian" "Conservative" PM Stephen Harper attended the Bilderberg conference just a couple of years ago?
Methinks we are in for much closer ties and probable merger down the line with the leaders of the terrifying neighbours to the South.
Val.

The derogatory cartoons that have the Islamic world in throes of violent protests were first published in September 2005 by Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. They were later republished in Austria in January, and then at the beginning of February in a number of European newspapers in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
There have since been angry and sometimes violent protests across the Islamic world, Britain and France. At least six deaths have been reported thus far. A hornets nest has been stirred with the end of the rapidly escalating crisis nowhere in sight.
Has it all happened innocuously and accidentally or is it a deliberate attempt towards an ulterior motive? To answer this question let us go back in time to May 2005.
Only four months before the crisis, between May 5 to May 8, 2005, a group of powerful men from todays finance, industry and politics huddled together in the warm and cozy rooms of the 5-star Dorint Sofitel Seehotel Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern, Germany. Outside the hotel, private and state guards patrolled with automatic weapons and sniffer dogs. The gray Bavarian skies rained on.
This secretive cabal of powerful men otherwise goes by the name of Bilderberg Group (a simple Google query will throw up thousands of results). The Bilderberg Group is the only private international organization that Time magazine rated 10 for secrecy on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being most secret).
So what do the defamatory cartoons have to do with the Bilderbergs? Let us first have a look at the names of just some of the attendees of the May 2005 conference. These were;
Josef Ackermann, Chairman, Group Executive Committee. Deutsche Bank AG, GermanyJoaquin Almunia Amann, Commissioner, European Commission
José M. Durno Barroso, President, European Commission, Portugal

Jean-Claude Trichet, Governor, European Central Bank
James D. Wolfensohn, President, The World Bank, U.S.A.
Paul Wolfowitz, President designate, The World Bank, U.S.A.
And of course there were the usual prime ministers and U.S. government officials. Also present were the movers and shakers of the Western media including media heads from almost all the countries whose press chose to publish the insulting cartoons. The names of Messers Michael Ledeen, Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz, however, must ring some bells. (Click here for the complete list)
Also on the list of attendees was one Anders Eldrep from Denmark. Anders Eldrep (sometimes spelled as Eldrup) happens to be married to one Merete Eldrep. This lady is the managing director of company JP/Politikens Hus (JP for Jyllands-Posten) that published the slanderous anti-Islamic cartoons in Denmark.
Neither Anders Eldrep is an ordinary Tom, Dick or Harry nor his wife exactly a babe in woods not to have understood the repercussions of their actions.
Merete Eldrep, the wife, is a former Head of Secretariat at the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs and Deputy Director of the Danish Energy Authority.
And Anders Elderp, her illustrious husband, is the current Chairman of Denmarks Oil and Natural Gas Company DONG and has been Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Danish Finance up to the year 2001. He also has attended the last FIVE Bilderberg meetings thus far. Interestingly, a previous editor-in-chief of 'Politiken', another of JP/Politikens Hus's newspapers, namely Toger Seidenfaden, too was a long-time Bilderberger.
Now a little more about the Bilderberg Group.
In a rare interview given to BBC, Etienne Davignon, 73, the chairman of the Bilderberg Group and a former Belgian diplomat and European Commissioner, dismissed claims that the Bilderberg Group is part of a global conspiracy to rule the world by a self-selected elite of movers and shakers. His dismissal is as natural as publicly admitting the cabals sinister agenda would have been unnatural. Please read the interview to form up your own opinion. In my judgment the sole aim of the group is implementing a Euro-American, some say Anglo-American, blueprint of a New World Order for the express benefit of these elites.
The Bilderberg discussions are structured on the principle of reaching accord rather than through ceremonial resolutions and voting. Such is the power and status of the active members that if an agreement for action is arrived at, the resulting decision is expected to be implemented in the West as a whole.
In the post 9/11 geo-political milieu particularly, the groups aim has been to buttress the foreign policies of the governments of the United States and Great Britain or, more simply, to help execute the precise formula sold internationally by the Bush/Blair combo. This new world order, with the groups unflinching support, is being shoved down the collective throat of the world citizenry under the guise of "global war on terrorism", and of establishing "democracy", "peace", and "freedom" in the world.
Just three quotes from the lamb talk of these Anglo-American leaders make clear enough readings of their intentions;
"Out of these troubled times [Iraq/Kuwait conflict], our fifth objective -- a new world order can emerge: a new era...We're now in sight of a United Nations that performs as envisioned by its founders." September 11, 1990 - Iraq Speech by President George H. W. Bush"Our mission is clear: to rid the world of evil" - Pres. George W. Bush, post-Sept. 11, 2001
"Out of the shadow of this evil [9/11], should emerge lasting good... This is a moment to seize...let us re-order this world around us." - British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Oct. 2, 2001 (BBC)
My questions then;
Was this whole anti-Islamic cartoon exercise actually nothing more than an innocent attempt at promoting the much cherished cause of freedom of expression on sensitive topics---anti-Semitism being disallowed, by word or action, by law in most of the western world?
Or, given the ominous times we are in, the Muslims are deliberately being provoked, exploiting their emotionality, into presenting one seething, throbbing mass of foaming-at-the-mouths herd of rabid cavemen image for their eventual annihilation? No one, after all, cries over the mushroom clouds blotting the horizons over beastlands.
Or is the scribe being overly alarmist?
You decide.

The controversy continues over the anti-Islamic cartoons published in a Danish publication. The latest word notes that Merete Eldrup, managing director of JP/Politikens Hus, the company that published the cartoons, is the wife of Anders Eldrup, chairman of DONG (Danish Oil and Natural Gas), a currently state-owned energy provider about to be privatized.
Moreover, according to a posting on Indymedia UK, as well as several other sources, Anders has been among the attendees at the last five meetings of the Bilderberger gathering, alleged by some to be an internationalist conspiracy bent on world government.
Meanwhile, his wife, before she took over the directorship at JP/PH, was both the Head of Secretariat at the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, and the Deputy Director of the Danish Energy Authority. She is currently Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of the Copenhagen Business School. - ST

When Microsoft first invaded the server market, its initial target was the territory of Novell. A good deal of ground was captured without much of a fight, as Novell users quickly acknowledged that there was a new power in the land and decided to get on with life rather than indulge in heroic resistance. Admittedly there were some hold-outs but Microsoft could happily ignore them, while it planned and then initiated its thrust into Unix.
Here resistance was much greater, although Microsoft's blitzkrieg tactics and rapid flanking movements put the allied forces of Unix on the defensive and ultimately saw them losing territory as the campaign proceeded. Microsoft's powerful weaponry (Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, SharePoint, etc.) was difficult to resist and until the Unix allies introduced the Linux weapon, it looked as though most of Serverland would find itself under Microsoft occupation.
Right now the campaign is intense with Microsoft recently introducing a more robust SQL Server into the fray, in the hope of capturing a good deal more of the high ground. Intelligence reports suggest that in 2006 Microsoft will introduce further improved weaponry. In particular, Microsoft has been plagued by security problems, its security codes being regularly broken and its enemies have exploited this in spectacular fashion on occasion, winning back territory that Microsoft had once occupied. Rumour has it that Microsoft is finally about to fix this sorry weakness, its major problem being whether it can get its security technology deployed without losing further ground.
The partisans, the marquis, the resistance, the Open Source Movement - call them what you want, they are a thorn in Microsoft's side in many of its operations. The pattern is repeated again and again; economic sabotage that undermines the profitability of many Microsoft activities and threatens its hold on long established territory.
A loose association of idealists, free-thinkers and bloody-minded revolutionaries, the Open Source Movement is proving to be more formidable opposition than many commentators imagined it could ever be - what is left of the Novell regime has clearly thrown its lot in with them and there can be little doubt that the allies (particularly IBM, HP and Oracle) are keeping them supplied and fed.
It is no surprise then, that this resistance movement has attracted the wrath of Obergruppenfuhrer Ballmer and set the Microsoft propaganda machine in motion - condemning them as communists and terrorists. As far as we can tell, there is little that Microsoft can do to keep them under control and diminish the threat. In the event that the allies make a major push into Microsoft territory, there can be little doubt that the resistance movement will rise up to help them.
At the outset of the Internet campaign, Microsoft's quick and dramatic victory was stunning to the allies. The Netscape forces under General Andreessen were utterly unprepared for the force of the Microsoft attack. Indeed General Andreessen's dream of marching his forces right on to the Microsoft desktop disappeared in the first few days of the campaign as his forces collapsed and retreated in disarray.
The purge of the dot coms followed and General "search-and-destroy" Schmidt took control of the Internet forces as Microsoft's armies laid siege to Yahoo.com and Google.com. The forces of the Internet revolutionaries looked to be in deep trouble. Nevertheless, it gradually became clear that Microsoft's forces were overextended and ill equipped for the commercial climate of the Internet, where revenues are scarce and the extreme conditions are merciless on the technology.
Indeed the attack on Google.com petered out quickly, as it became clear that much of the Microsoft technology was unusable in the harsh Internet climate and the forces of General Schmidt clearly understood the terrain far better. As I write, the MSN division is surrounded and unlikely to hold out for long. All across the wide plains of the Internet Microsoft forces are in retreat and fighting a rear-guard action as they fall back to the desktop and Serverland.
Personally, I doubt if General Schmidt's forces will stop at the borders. If they get that far, they will surely march on Redmond.
Historians will probably conclude that Microsoft should have eliminated Apple in the wake of the battle of the GUI, while it was possible. Apple's defeat saw it retreat behind its borders, almost isolated from the corporate market and subject to a constant blitz of proprietary standards.
Occupying no more than a few percent of the desktop, it seemed unlikely that Apple would hold out for long, but Microsoft - diverted by its Internet campaign - chose not to invade, when it was possible. Perhaps Bill Gates should have read his Machiavelli more thoroughly: "Never wound an enemy, except fatally."
The tide has now turned. Redmond was clearly shocked by the timing and the success of Operation iPod, which saw Apple deploy its retail division in a classic flanking attack and establish a well-supplied beachhead on territory that Microsoft had occupied for years. Microsoft's media division and its Windows division, somewhat demoralized by security breaches, have so far been unable to respond to the threat in a coherent way. If they don't act soon then Apple too may take the battle to Redmond.
Enough of this WW2 parallel. Microsoft is fighting a war on multiple fronts. It has built a hugely successful business based on lock-in and drag-along that is being threatened as never before. 2006 is the year when its true mettle will be tested. On the positive side it has a pipeline of new software updates with which to drive business, including the long awaited and very late Windows Vista. It is still immensely profitable and sits on an enviably large cash pile.
But the force of fashion is no longer on its side. Watch what happens later this year when Vista is released. I expect Steve Jobs to rain on Vista's parade with style. Watch out Bill, there's a Leopard behind you.
The Bilderberg Group can be singled out as special among putative groups of conspirators, for two reasons. First, the group appears to be a loose association of individuals that really are powerful or at least have very powerful connections. If you wanted to create a conspiracy then you might indeed wish to approach one or two "members" of this group. Secondly, because of the way it organizes itself, the Bilderberg Group naturally attracts accusations that it is "conspiratorial".
The Bilderberg Group was founded in 1954 (a mere 50 years ago) by Joseph Retinger (an American Freemason) and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. As the group's activities are deliberately secret it is difficult to know much about it for sure, but as far as I can tell the following is true or close to the truth.
The goal of the organisation was and is to promote co-operation between North America and Europe at a political and economic level. Meetings of the organisation take place once or twice a year, but irregularly and they are never announced. Security is heavy and all journalists or observers of any kind are barred. Invitees consist of; bankers, industrialists, prime ministers, presidents, politicians and people of influence from Europe and North America and reportedly, around 120 or so turn up to each meeting. Attendees can thus say whatever they please, interact and influence each other.
So what do the Bilderbergers do? Well, it's obvious really. They arrange assassinations, wars, election results, weird rituals and much besides. Throughout our history, aliens have controlled the human race through various secret societies, religions, Satanic cults and occult movements and the Bilderberg Group is just one of the means by which they achieve this - its their user interface if you like. You know I could make this stuff up, but why bother when you can find it just as easily using Google.
In reality the Bilderberg Group is pretty much like the Illuminati - if you are inventing a conspiracy then its best to add them in. Google both words (Bilderberg and Illuminati) and you get 50,800 hits. They don't line up so well with Zionists (a mere 22,000 hits) and they don't line up at all with the Rosicrucians (only a handful of hits). They have a strong association with aliens (41,700 hits), assassination (43,300 hits) and surprisingly (to me) the Iraq War.
When the wacky theorists of the web aren't accusing them of nefarious activities, the Bilderbergers come under fire for encouraging globalisation, which in all probability they do, if only in an informal way. It is said that the Bilderberg Group was influential in introducing the Euro into Europe and maybe they were. They may have encouraged quite a few political developments that we've all lived through. But we can never be sure, because its activities are secret - and for that reason it's only possible to accuse them of worshiping an idol that takes the form of an owl. (Yes indeed, they are owl worshipers).
More definitions from the Alternative Real Time Guide to Enterprise Computing. (Disclaimer: IT-Analysis/IT-Director takes no responsibility for anyone who takes any of these definitions seriously).
CISC stands for Complex Instruction Set Computer, which is strange because it actually refers to a type of computer chip. As everyone knows a computer chip on its own is not a computer, so CISC is a misabbreviation, or it would be if misabbreviation was a word, which it isn't.
The making of pills. A similar process can be applied to software by wrapping it up in a container to stop it spilling out all over the place. In computing, it used to be called structured programming whereas in the transport industry it was called containerisation. Object oriented fanatics called it encapsulation, claimed it as an original idea and included it in the object oriented creed. It is a religious term.
In today's complex corporate computer networks with hundreds or even thousands of servers and vast portfolios of business applications, things have got so complicated that nobody actually knows how it all hangs together any more. This wouldn't matter too much if things didn't go wrong every now and then, but they do. So when something goes pear-shaped in such installations a whole host of people (network managers, DBA's, system administrators, performance specialists, support engineers, funambulists, etc.) need to meet up in order to indulge in group hysteria and blame-storming. The place where they congregate is usually referred to as the "war room".

Part of the security services job is to discredit their critics. Nick Cohen lent them a hand on Sunday when he branded The Bilderberg Group - yet to be seriously examined by UK broadsheets - as a conspiracy theory.
Unfortunately for him, Nick's words were printed on the day before the Guardian revealed that Bush and Blair conspired to decieve the US and British people, legislature and the UN to invade Iraq. And General Sir Michael Rose is still calling for the PM's impeachment, presumably before the illegal occupation of Iran gets the green light.
Nick is doing what so many people do when confronted by a secret meeting of the western world's most rich and powerful. He puts them in a box marked 'lizard men' and runs away. Meanwhile some of us are trying to discover where and when this spring's Bilderberg meeting will be and what leaks might be forthcoming about NATO's plans to attack Iran.
In this brave new lawless world, conspiracy facts are the bread and butter of all self-respecting journalists. Only by carefully picking through the conspiracy theories will they be found.

It is impossible to write anything about Jews these days without being accused of being an anti-semite or a Zionist imperialist. I think I'll take the coward's course and look at what the victorious Islamists of Hamas think of Freemasons instead.
It was Masons, not Jews, who were the target of the original conspiracy theory of the far right. What would end up as fascism began as a reaction against the American and French revolutions. The counter-revolutionaries had to explain why people were proclaiming heretical ideas about the rights of man. They couldn't admit that the French and Americans were embracing Enlightenment values of their own free will. There had to be a conspiracy. Europe's Jews were in the ghetto in the 1790s, and it was preposterous to pretend that they were secret rulers of the world. So the far right decided that the conspirators were the Freemasons.
Hitler banned Freemasonry and General Franco executed thousands of Spanish Masons. You get an idea of how thoroughly the ideas of the European reaction have penetrated the Middle East when you look at the loathing of Masons on the Arab far Right.
Article 22 of Hamas's covenant says of the Jews: 'They were behind the French Revolution, the communist revolution and most of the revolutions we heard and hear about, here and there. With their money, they formed secret societies, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, the Lions and others in different parts of the world for the purpose of sabotaging societies.'
I know Iraqis who had to run for their lives when Saddam Hussein accused them of being part of a Masonic plot. Last year, the Telegraph reported that Ahmad Thomson, a Muslim lawyer who advises the Prime Minister on community relations, had declared that a 'sinister' group of Jews and Freemasons was behind the invasion of Iraq.
Everything from the ravings of the Iranian leadership to the genocide in Darfur makes a little more sense if you grasp that parts of the poor world have taken up the insane theories of European fascism. And as Europeans ought to know by now, you need to be very worried when the men who spout them get into power.
I'm not being sarcastic when I say that one of the pleasures of being a journalist are the letters and emails I receive from readers. They make you reconsider prejudices and confront issues you had complacently ignored.
The exceptions are the ravings of conspiracy theorists. The sinister forces behind their plots vary - Freemasons and the Jews, reptilian aliens, the Bilderberg Group and the Illuminati - but on one point they are unanimous: the intelligence services are in league with their persecutors and are tapping their phones and opening their mail.
Dear God, but what have our chaps in Moscow done? Did they stop to think of the consequences of making stones in the park objects of suspicion? From now on, newsrooms will be getting letters in green ink from paranoiacs claiming that MI6 has turned their rockeries against them.
Globalization is not from the XX th or XXI th century. It is as old as the XV th or XVI th century. Every move in Globalization has been about reshaping the World, or giving a global plan of control or a 'New World Order'. Behind the scenes, imperialism has been sharing the natural bounty of the world to the profit of its upper class, the Plutocracy. The rich who so much want to have one absolute rule of this world.
From this old, old experience of world domination, and this plan of the ages, the Upper classes were obliged to give some apparent democratic power to people in America and Europe in the late XVIII th century to replace the constitutional monarchy in England, after the Civil War of England during the XVIIth century and the reign of the Lord Protector Cromwell who gave an economic advantage to England against the Dutch, but was a dictator. Although different parts of the world were in touch during this phase of Globalization, no idea of shaping a common world in values was apparent. In fact all points of the globe were subject to the domination of European countries as contributing factors for the Western Economy. England was intent to destroy indigenous customs in the legislation inside these countries, for example imposition of the English concept of the private ownership of land, but other Western countries were applying their own legislation without restriction.
The infamous and abhorrent human slave trade, abolished in 1807, was a key contributor to maximum productivity and competitiveness of these regions. With the development of industry, colonies were kept as an hinterland which permitted certain plutocrats to carve themselves out mini-monopolies in the competitive global system, but this advantage was costing the nations too much in building the infrastructure of civilisation: roads, ports, schools, teachers, hospitals, medicine and so on...in the colonies. On the other side, some of these colonies were bringing soldiers to the fronts in World War I. (as in WWII).
World War I was a destructive conflict seeing the plutocrats of the World springing from the internal contradictions of capitalism. That helped the conflict to take place while the workers representatives were negotiating the entrance to war. Jean Jaures, the French socialist wanting an agreement between all the workers not to participate in the war was assassinated before the war, while Kautsky, ,German socialist counterpart of Jaures, negotiated the acceptance of the German war with the then " elite".
The result of this war was the entrance of the US economy in the world's sphere. The banque de France lost all its gold reserves while England was badly weakened. Germany was an economic ruin and the policy of reparations helped America to shape the German economy. As an example of that, let us say that before the first war, all the Chief countries of the world had currencies based on gold. The gold standard was a great gift of Providence. The war arrested and broke up this monetary cosmopolitanism. After the outbreak of the war some governments withdrew gold from internal circulation and replaced it with printed money. Each note was overprinted.
At the close of the war the practical monetary solidarity had disappeared and the overprinting of paper money continued. Each sovereign power was struggling with its own monetary problems and nobody was thinking of organizing an international conference about it. Each power was trying to get the better of the others. Each big money power resolved to get something kind of victory over the others. Up to there London banking was an international service centered in London . The City, through out its gold standard free trading period had existed not for Britain but for the world. All was now changed. These countries knew all about inflation! Impossible reparation payments in gold was imposed upon the Germans and the USA was building great hopes upon the debts reckoned in gold owing to her by its war allies for munitions supplied in the common effort.
America returned to gold standard in 1919. The more the price of gold came down, the more the repayments were onerous. In 1920, the prices in USA were 247% of those in 1913. In Britain the gold standard was still in suspense and Britain was using paper money; prices were 324 % of 1913 and the pound note was at a level of inferiority (247/324) to the gold dollar. In America there was a legal restriction of credit. At the end of the year, prices were then at 42% of what they had been in the month of May, 1920. Prices remained stable up to the year 1929...In England, there was such a credit restriction with the effect that the pound, in four years from 1920, got parity with the US dollar. This involved a restraint upon the business and a gigantic transfer of wealth from the producing to the creditor classes. The people who bought War loans, for instance, received interest in pounds of more than double the purchasing value. USSR crashed its creditors completely, through inflation. Germany Austria, Poland and Hungary were forced to follow the same path and destroy their creditor class.
In the course of about eight years countries were returning to something resembling previous conditions. Every country except the USA was saddled with big external debts for war expenditure, payable in gold, and the USA was carrying a big internal debt on the same account. This was the turning point of the Power of America in its ascendance. The second world war took place, giving the maximum of power to the United States of America in a divided Europe and divided world, thus giving predominance to Washington. In this phase, 'independence' movements appeared, many helped by Washington, in order to take a hand on the most richness of the world.
Note this: these events were occurring after the help of Asia and Africa, was needed by the allies to win the war. In a sense, American economy and policy was planting a knife in the back of its allies. Then Globalisation was entirely redefined around the center of Washington, some nations being previously centered around Paris or London. Bandoeng was the occasion for certain countries, most of them attracted by USSR or others sincerely socialists countries, to thwart an impossible choice (1956). At the end of the Western Independence movement, and with the end of the Bandoeng movement (with the coup against Sukarno in 1965) and the maximum influence of America in Asia with the involvement of the USA in Vietnam at the same period we may define the end of the 'independent phase 'around 1968. The policy of 'investment' was clearly defined in Washington after the war (1947) in a formula which applied to the past 'coups de force' and 'coups d'etat' and was drawing up plans for the future after being well tested in the past.
The central notion is to protect and let live the American investment without any constraint. In case a band of syndicalists, communists, etc. is threatening the American investment, the marines have to come in, applying the uppermore force with the communists "terrorists". This led to a lot of interventions in south America, Cuba, St Domingo etc... In an actual world without communists, you replace these one with 'terrorists' and you get something alike, because terrorism is a 'image' replacing the hatred 'communists'. But in the civilized Western world you apply the notion of AMI or OMC to protect your investments against 'ugly' environmentalists. Let us go back to the colliding worlds.
The doctrine of anti communism by America ground to a slow halt in 1975 with as prelude, the visit of US President Nixon to China and the end of the bloody war in Indochina. The involvment of USSR in Afghanistan war is the occasion taken by America to ruin USSR. The American secret services are cleaned of anti communists.(1975)
Then in 1990, with no enemy in view, the USA step up their politics to manage the world. Their politics are centered around de-localisation and petroleum politics around the Caspian sea. They priviledge Turkey and they operate in helping their allies of Saudia Arabia and neutralize Iraq with the division in three military zones and constant bombings. Although the Oslo agreement (1993) no real truce or beginning of peace is taking place in Israel. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is expecting a lot from this peace. The Serbian war (1990-1999) is helping the Americans to stabilize the Balkans for the profit of the muslims to get their help in the Great Middle Orient policy defined for the South of Asia. The war in Iraq (2003) Was to be decisive. Their Afghanistan offensive in 2001 following the destruction of the Twin towers was immediately successful without carrying the germs of change.
I have to insist on this last phase, the more important of Globalism. For the first time in civilization, West has taken the terrible decision to transfer not A BIT of their industrial power, but MOST of it.... Before, investments were made into the 'colonies' but the industrial heartland was kept in America and in Europe and this should have happened because of the labour cost only and maximum profit policy. On the other side in America and Europe pressure is made to make the same profit upon the back of the remaining workers. Their policy is thought about finance maximization and exploitation of the mankind. The couple of force was acting politically together with the Eurasia policy in order to get the maximum effect of CFR man Brzezinsky's policy.
The destructive effect of that policy is under our present eyes and will be worse in the years to come. I have to develop certain concepts that will help the reader to understand that the decision maker is daily confronted with walls running against him and that a choice is to be taken every time this happens. These guys are reorienting the studies in such a way they fabricate the events and give the prepared solutions. If studied in a careful way ,and they do so, and the fact of knowing the issue is giving an extraordinary power (not only in finance) to these keymen.
In fact, these guys were calculating upon a major idea: the domination of the USA over all countries of the world and initially over all regions of the world. The world domination of American cultural values was a lure for all these people making decisions. They thought the world was intending to become one with a same mind and same sensations. The rose-smelling winds of Brzezinsky's policies were blowing upon Eurasia and the Great Middle East. Everything was going in their favor. Russia was weak and no more an Empire.
So the time was to lower all wages, moving businesses to the Far Eastern world. The last dams were open and wealth flowed from the pockets of their workers towards the rich owners. In same time than delocalising, taxes's cut were voted always in favor of the Upper Class while the mansion's funds were said not to be able to finance the boomers pension. The realty principle should led people without a job to bargain their work force. This was done under a lot of regulations, Bolkenstein's project in Europe being the bogeyman, while ordnances, regulations and sometimes votes are taken in a lot of country of Europe leading to this situation and consolidating it. In the same time, the US president was trying to force the US congress to vote laws in such a way to be applied to American workers. Steinbruck, secretary of economy of Germany (SPD- socialist) has said last week than in the future there was no more reason for the State to pay any money to people who lost their jobs and this after the socialist legislation voted against the left's people under the name of a infamous German unionist, Hartz IV. In these cases, socialists are more harder than conservatives! and more cruel.
As I already said it last year, the puppets in the European governments are dancing as their masters. (I do remember that Krotchov, former leader of USSR, was one night obliged to dance upon a table on order of Joseph Stalin, and never forgot it, but he was a communist. In place we see democratic men dancing on order of Washington, revolver being replaced by a bounty of corruption)
So, the marrionettes were doing as they were told. Enthused by the success of Brzezinky 's plans and the American plan, they followed the march to a world of full homogeinity.
On July 2, 2005 the organization of Shangai decided to oust all American forces out of Asia. After a few months, and a visit of the American Secretary of defense, Mr Donald Rumsfeld, Kyrghisistan agreed to tolerate the American presence up the moment the war in Afghanistan is finished. Neighbouring Uzbekistan has only German elements on its soil. Americans are away. Iran was given a position of observer. It is now clear than Asian Powers are accepting the role of Iran as a padlock for the entire region. And no pressures will make the organisation change its views about it.
Once the deal was understood in Washington, pressure was launched against Teheran to force this country to make the 'right' decision. Threats in disguise, etc.. Expectations were made on the vote of Rafhansdjani who is a rich man specialized in petroleum to become president. The people of Iran decided otherwise and chose the actual president who shares in common with president Bush a gloomy vision of The End of the World. One being 'inspired' by God, the other one thinking he is the 12th I man (hidden one) or Mahdi. But the choice was taken in accordance with democracy, thus a bad choice.. Once the trap was no longer working, the Iranian people chose the 'wrong' man, intelligent men should have taken the decision to change plans and even tactically moving towards discussion with the new Iranian regime. It's not what we may see. Acceptatance that the world has now multi poles is not even considered in Washington. We will see details of all this in our framework about Bilderberg 2006 hereunder, but I would like the readers to note the following:
In an analysis given to the paper "Le Monde"on January 24, 2006, Thierry de Montbrial gave the same appreciation about the 'homogenous world' and the 'heterogenous world' saying the second option seems to become the true issue of the future of the world. I detected a deep pessimism from him as he explained that the future of Iran is in the hands of ...China and Russia. As I see it Russia and China will not abandon Iran, even attacked by America or Israel. But the anguish of Therry de Montbrial could mean that a bad decision has been taken somewhere in the West. Some dates as early as 22nd March 2006 have been put forward for the US/NATO forces to attack Iran. Iran is now moving its rockets trucks everyday along the borders in place of once a week. The principle of an attack was already unveiled in December 2005 by the weekly 'Der Spiegel' and the whole NATO plan was stopped then . We will come back in the part III upon the consequences of the upperclass on our world (and theirs as well) after what they did to most of us.
What is astonishing in this story is that Mr Olivier Roy, a regular Bilderberg attendant, has wrote an article last month in the daily 'Le Monde' where he declares, that the muslim reaction about the caricatures are de facto the result of the European policy in the Middle East. The guiltiness is thus European and not a word about the US diplomacy which was indeed looking the protests as if they were innocent of all that. The idea ( with a lot of hypocrisy) of mr Roy is that, living in a dangerous Mediterranean world full of muslim terrorists will force the European to take their responsibilities in securing this world with an special force ready to intervene at any moment. As far I remember, even in the Israelian wars, never Europe was forced to send troops in the region ( after 1956, America came in the process, and since then, Europe was no more acting as a belligerant party after the independence wars in Cyprus (1964), Algiers (1962-1963), Tunisia (1956).
Now Bilderberg seem to push Europe to impose the new " Mare Nostrum" US policy for the profit of Washington, with European soldiers. Naturally will our political woodlouse's breeding conform their policy to the views of Washington.
Let us have now a deeper look in the backgrounds of Russia. This point will certainly be a central point in next Bilderberg meeting.
The daily Pravda http://www.pravda.ru/ was delivering a real interesting article : "Russia may lose its military influence on borders due to NATO's expansion" on January 26, 2005. We may read:
<http://english.pravda.ru/main/18/88/354/16801_arms.html>
"The West continues to put pressure on Russia, trying to make the country withdraw its troops from potentially dangerous territories. The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov stated during his recent visit to Baku that Russia could possibly pull out from the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty (CFE). According to the minister, Russia may end its membership in the treaty if the West continues to insist on the withdrawal of the Russian military contingent from Georgia and Moldova. The USA and several European countries accuse Russia of poor execution of obligations.
The treaty to restrict conventional armed forces in Europe was signed in 1990. According to the agreement between the members of NATO and the Warsaw Treaty the document stipulated a gradual reduction of arms deployed on the indicated territory. Russia has a right to have 6,350 tanks and 11,280 armoured vehicles on its territory. This quantity is enough to react to possible external threats. The treaty was revised in 1999 when certain quotations for the deployment of arms were fixed.
The new version of the treaty is highly important for Russia. The conditions of the treaty restrict the quantity of arms in the so-called flank zone. The unstable Caucasian region of Russia is included in this territory: it is obvious that Russia should concentrate more attention and weaponry in the region. The Russian military command would like to add 400 tanks and 2,420 armoured vehicles in the flank zone.
The new version of the document, however, which settles the discrepancies, is considered null and void until it is ratified by all member-countries. For the time being, the treaty has been ratified by Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine. The question regarding the regulation of the old problem was raised at the end of 2005. The Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov stated during the OSCE summit in Ljubljana that Russia and other countries participating in the treaty could lose the control over arms in Europe if the treaty remained unratified. "I do not think that someone of us would be interested in dealing with such a turn of events," the minister said.
NATO tries to postpone the solution of the problem, reminding Russia of the current problems in Georgia and Moldova, where Russian military contingents are deployed. According to Russian official, though, the alliance does not ratify the document but continues to expand eastwards setting up more and more army bases.
Russia and Georgia managed to overcome numerous problems in May 2005 and agreed to withdraw Russian bases from Batumi and Akhalkalaki. Russia undertook to complete the process by 2008.
About 1,500 Russian servicemen are still stationed in Moldova. The question of ammunition depots, which Russia will have to destroy, is much more important, at this point. Slovenia's Minister for Foreign Affairs Dimitry Rupel criticized Russia. The official stated that he could see no excuses for the ongoing neglect of duties: "We still argue about the agreements achieved in Istanbul in 1999 regarding the withdrawal of Russian forces from Moldova," Rupel said.
NATO's growing number of members (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Slovenia have recently become members of the alliance) complicates the dialogue. New members do not participate in the Treaty on the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. NATO may soon deploy its troops in the Baltic states against the background of its movement from Central to Eastern Europe. "
As we see it, homogeneity of the world is still practiced by America and Europe. More, although the broken illusions of Mr Thierry the Montbrial, it seems than the machine is going on to the course of a collision with Russia, in the name of a Global world. I will give you an evidence of this and I ask you to pay some attention to the evidence:
"SECURITY THROUGH DIALOGUE AND CO-OPERATION "
31/01/2006, Brussels.
As Belgium is president of OSCE in 2006, an inaugural conference organized by the government AND THE ROYAL INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS will take place on January 31, 2006."
As the old borders doesn't exist anymore and that the European and Eurasian landscape is moving quickly, the OSCE is heavily involved in a institutional reform mechanism...the conference is organized to make OSCE a regional chief in security matters, with its state members, may adapt its role in the new environment."
The speakers will be the secretary of foreign affairs from Ukraïne, M. Borys Tarasyuk. Panels will be presided by: Mr Etienne Davignon, Président of the belgian IRRI and by the professor Jan Wouters, of the catholic university of Leuven.
As you may see it, Russia will be a central question to be treated not only by the Belgian of the OSCE in 2006, but by more powerful people who favour the 'worlds in collision' option because they stand to gain from it. A lot of evil may come from this situation.
I have here above described the mechanism at work with this central and important question and the views of the one and others. It is well known but terrible fact that what the Russians say is ignored by the Western media.
These are both non conclusive wars and Afghanistan is now demanding more and more Nato forces. To say that Europe is now embroiled in the heartland of Eurasia in the last preparations of a long, long war. A recent declaration of mr Karzai is speaking of a war of possibly ten years. This will be a Nato charge. The Great Middle East policy is now taking the straight road of failure. Mr Sharon is still incapacited and there are no big policy makers in Israel to impose some kind of peace. Hamas is the winner of 25th January elections in the Palestinian State. This may not help...In Egypt , the Muslim Brotherhood is the real winner of the last elections. In Lebanon , the Hezbollah is still keeping its weapons and sometimes using them upon Israel. Last elections in Iraq, which took a month to count, resulted in an inconclusive Shiites win.
This is not at the brink to help any democratic system. I have to say that all these countries know more about democracy than most. They all inherited parliaments from their colonisers before the Americans came.... In such a way, we may understand the despair of the State Department about this trend, where NGO money favours the rise of non democratic movements. To that, president Bush is answering that " these guys once in a parliament are obliged to accept the democratic system.". A recent declaration of Shtaransky says that: "Peace Will Only Come after Freedom and Democracy"
<http://www.meforum.org/article/666>
The Palestinians after Arafat: Democracy and Freedom from www.meforum.org
Sharansky: There is progress today in the Middle East because the most dangerous regime, that of Saddam Hussein, has been removed. Saddam Hussein's Iraq gave legitimacy to terrorist groups across the Middle East. Saddam's was a regime that used human life to break the will of the free world. That the West allowed Saddam's regime to continue to hold his people hostage for so many years, encouraged dictators and terrorists worldwide, and discouraged potential dissidents within Iraqi society. But today the situation has changed. The death of [Yasir] Arafat also creates new possibilities.
MEQ: How strong is the will for political change among the Palestinians? Sharansky: Whenever people are given an opportunity not to live in constant fear, not to live a life of doublethink, they choose freedom. If given the opportunity, the Palestinians can progress toward democracy. They have a strong middle class. They have special business opportunities in the free world. Palestinians are adroit observers of Israel and understand the functioning of democracy. The Palestinian diaspora is well educated. All of these factors provide hope for a speedier transition. There is no doubt that the change of leadership resulting from Arafat's passing creates opportunities. Whether Palestinians seize these opportunities is another question.
MEQ: In The Case for Democracy you write that "Palestinians, like every people, are capable of building a free society." Does Israel have any role or responsibility to help create the conditions for a free Palestinian society?
Sharansky: Israel has a special interest in Palestinian democracy because only with democratic development among Palestinians and in the Arab world will Israel enjoy peace and stability. We can complain as much as we want about the lack of freedom and the lack of democracy among the Palestinians and other neighbors, but we should never forget our role. Israel and other nations in the free world tried to turn a Palestinian dictatorship into a partner. Many Israeli and American policymakers thought that a Palestinian dictatorship would bring stability. We were not ready to support any form of dissent in the Arab world and among the Palestinians because we believed it would weaken the Palestinian Authority and any chance for peace. Israel, the United States, and other free nations need to realize that they can play a very positive role, but that their choices can also be harmful for democracy.
MEQ: You also wrote that free elections can only take place in an atmosphere devoid of fear and only after the basic institutions that protect a free society-such as a free press, the rule of law, independent courts, and political parties-are firmly in place. Can the Palestinian Authority elections meet these criteria?
Sharansky: We should have no illusions that the elections that will take place in January [2005] will have anything to do with democracy. Elections that are not free, that are not held in a free society have nothing to do with democracy.
MEQ: Are Palestinian elections at all worthwhile?
Sharansky: Elections are worthwhile, but casting votes in and of itself is not enough. Democracy can only start when the new leadership selected in these elections embraces reform. A lot depends on our policy. If we embrace a leadership that embraces reform, or if we refuse to give any legitimacy or support to a leadership that refuses to bring democracy and reform, then there is a serious chance for success. In the upcoming Palestinian election, different faction heads will decide the candidates in advance. Voters will not really have the freedom to express their opinions. The leadership selection has nothing to do with democracy, but it is important that this selection take place as soon as possible.
MEQ: What should happen then?
Sharansky: We should not pay too much attention to who will be the next Palestinian leader, but we should pay attention to what we demand of this leader. The first steps towards democracy will be after elections and not before.
MEQ: Is your opposition to the Gaza disengagement plan a matter of principle, or are you concerned over its practical implementation?
Sharansky: Questions of principle and practical matters are always connected for me. I was against the disengagement plan not because I believed we should stay in Gaza but because one-sided concessions could transform Gaza into a beachhead for a terrorist state. If a Palestinian democracy developed, then a Palestinian state would not be dangerous. As I said many years ago, it is very important that the depth of our concessions match the depth of democracy on the other side. If disengagement were linked to democratic reforms, I would be all for this plan. But I object to any plan that leaves territory for terror."
From that we are certain that the American administration with the help of the UE has a lot of work to do from the Palestinian mess .
As this file is still open, we may understand that it will yet figure in the agenda of Bilderberg 2006. The presence of mr Haass will be certain. After the Hamas results and the financial and political boycott which followed, we may only be certain that our political quibblers over the US domination will try to use the money donations to change the actual situation. As we see it a democratic vote is not forcibly democratic. Yet another conclusion: the Near East they were handling has become another powderkeg.
As last year's Bilderberg meeting had, as speakers, Mr Henry Kissinger and Anatoli Sharantsky talking about 'Expanding Freedom' This doctrine centered about the work of an NGO in central Asia has been legally blocked by the Russian Douma and the counter offensive of Moscow after the New Alliance forged inside the Shangai Organisation on July 2005 against the Zbrezinsky 'Eurasia' operation. On this occasion, Iran was invited as an Observer and will acquire this stature permanently in 2006.
What we have to understand is that this ploy has ended. More, the opening of such kind of discussion will be immediately counter balanced by the Guantanamo and Abu Graib problems with the 'rendition' program.
We may infer from that, this subject will not be open at Bilderberg 2006 because of the high potential of dissidence between Europe and USA. This will be meddled with the theme 'Russia'. As far as the complete legal resolution of Guantanamo Concentration camp is not legally solved although the demands of Angela Merkel and other Western heads, the subject could be dangerous for the 'Allies'.
As the defense of Taïwan is being the priority of Bush administration, China is going on with its quick rate of development. This rate demands China secure its raw material resources.
We have seen last year a lot of bilateral contracts between China and Africa countries as well as South American ones. In Africa, China is practicing the gift option, to say give a sum of money to help these countries, instead of giving under 'structural adhustment' conditions as the IMF is doing. In these conditions, African countries are willing to work with this sort of guys and China is becoming the first export destination at the detriment of France, for instance. This explain as well last year 'gift' by IMF towards commonwealth countries of Africa.
As China's sources of material and petroleum are only commercial ones, without political ideas, and that the general idea is about free trade and neo liberalism, not free-speech, nothing can be made to block the trade. Mr Snow, American secretary of the Treasury, wanted another revaluation of the Chinese Yuan. He got a big surprise: On January 7, 2006 by a declaration of the Central bank of China, written in Chinese on the bank's web site, the governor was quietly declaring that China will in the future not buy as much US dollars federal notes as it did in the past.
You may imagine the result of such declaration. Ten days after, the governor declared that it was a 'mistake' that was corrected. Let us call it an a 'friendly advice' towards the American intentions.
The fact is that today ONLY HALF of the Chinese reserves are in USD. The buyings of China plus the crisis of Iran is helping petroleum and associated material to get more expensive.
The American way of solving its immediate economic problems was always done with a downward trend in interest rates at the long term. This has permitted to Americans to endebt themselves and go on with consumption buying. We have seen this mechanism play in 1997, 2000. Every time when the mechanism is working, Americans are able to renegotiate their debts and diminish their debt, thus be able to buy again. American landscape is a real machine to give credit to the people. This is helping people with a house to take a credit advantage upon the increase of the value of their house.
But a lot of qualified Americans are without work , due to globalization consequences of delocalisation and outsourcing.
People who are recovering a job are non qualified people for at least 70 % of the job created. Concurrence from Mexican workers and outsourcing are allowing big business to put a brake on the wages. The biggest problem in the American economy are now the commercial and payments deficits. It is commonly accepted by international bankers that if chock happens it will be fatal to the US economy. As reported by R. Leuschel, a former ING Bank guru and other sources of informations, M3 will no more be published by the Federal reserve end of March.
This is meaning that this important figure showing the real inflation will no more given to the appreciation of bankers, or stock share holders. Bernbank is possibly a 2006 guest of Bilderberg.
This could be the answer to any major event which may come. Another powder keg !
Under the auspices of the 'fight against terrorism' and secret agreements taken with USA, Europe is developing special laws which undermine democracy in Europe ,as in America. The fight for democracy is now a fight towards tyranny on the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The whole thing is placed in a common interest towards the dominance of the upperclass on the whole Society. In Europe as in America, flows of money are coming from the poorest towards the pockets of the richest. The 'new elite' [ as Napoleon should have said it, is looking like a silken stocking, full of shit] is considering charity as inutile, as the poors. [a great thought from mr Greenspan] because the poors do not deserve charity.
In Europe and in the USA , we are slowing going toward a fight between the fierce men and the new Fascist state practizing a new kind of morale that we last saw in the Republic of Salo, 1944.
The end of communism in 1990 was the beginning of this new turn, as in 1920 in England.
A future potential powder keg, even if these societies are condemned to fascism by the richer of them.
As far as it is difficult to give the exact future of the discussions, I presented the important themes of this year venue ( I did not spoke about 'Energy and Oil' because a real good idea of it was given last year by Daniel Estulin, although this theme will again be debated this year with new options in nuclear development and society new options.).
As a confirmation of all this, Suez under the menace of a OPA from Enel Italy, was obliged to make an alliance with Gas de France , under the auspices of the French governement. What is spiced in this story is that France will own 34% of the shares of the new company. So the Champion of Bilderberg and of neoliberalism, mr Davignon, is obliged to work with the French State! This is certainly not amusing for him in company of Mrs Mestrallet and JP Hanssen of Electrabel. Anyway as I previous told it, the energy future in Europe will deal with atomic electricity production, and new atomic centrales. This is a certainty!.
In any case, neo liberalism has proven his mephetic role in creating a lot of poverty worldwide but keeping safe the interests of the richers. Their ambition is to rule upon us, kept as poors and slaves of their willingness. If the cake is growing enough they surely will share it between them!(As usual)
As last year, my appreciation will be subjected to the subjects of the new conference as delivered in the official Bilderberg list. Last year I was not too far from the official topics ( I forgot the non proliferation problem spoken by Therese Delpech and her ideas about the new barbarians)... But you and me know who are the new barbarians!

Sometime later in 2006 the 52nd meeting of the Bilderberg Group will begin and continue over a period of four days in a five-star hotel resort. In attendance will be no more than 100 of some of the west's chief political movers, business leaders, bankers, industrialists, strategic thinkers and even a trusted journalist or two. All participants will be absolutely forbidden from disclosing what they discussed during the four days although the invited journalists are provided with a vague press release for the curious.
For instance, last year's Bilderberg Meeting which allegedly took place at the Dorint Sofitel Uberfahrt hotel near Munich, Germany dealt with such wide-ranging topics as American-European relations, Russia, Iran, Iraq, the Middle East, Asia, economic problems and nuclear nonproliferation. No details will ever be known as will be the case this year.
When the four-day meeting is over various minor tidbits of information will make mostly non-mainstream news and conspiracy theorists websites which is exactly what the Bilderbergers want to occur - their thinking is as long as the conspiracy theorists keep up a constant barrage of "whacko" dialogue about the secret society, the longer their secret and their real agenda will remain safe.
The name 'Bilderberg' derives from the very first meeting of the group way back in 1954. The first group met at the Bilderberg Hotel in Holland. The first meeting was called by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands in response to his concerns regarding the increasingly antagonistic relationship between the U.S. and Western Europe thus providing the Group with a declared purpose - to further the understanding between Western Europe and North America through informal meetings between powerful individuals. The Group has grown since that first meeting in 1954 and has met once a year every year since that time. Most of the world has no knowledge of the society or their meetings.
The Group has incorporated two official languages into their meetings - English and French. Spouses of all invitees are banned from attendance and invitations go exclusively to residents of Europe and North America. The list of invitees will never be more than 100. As mentioned earlier, journalists are invited but are banned from reporting any of it and are not allowed entrance into the actual meetings. Everyone invited whether they are kings or prime ministers or world renowned business tycoons are expected and required to leave all official credentials at the door - when they enter into official discussion, they are participating as members of the human race only. Security is provided by military intelligence. Which military intelligence is not known. Of course, this only perpetuates the conspiracy theorists belief that the Bilderberg Society are the puppet masters of a New World Order and have been pulling the strings of humankind since at least 1954.
Even though this could very well be the truth, the Bilderbergers continue to feel secure and safely protected by these same conspiracy theorists, the "whackos" who no sane person would believe for a moment.
Every year before the official announcement of the next Bilderberg Meeting, the Group releases a list of the year's attendees. One might ask why such a secret society would be so foolish as to release the names of those invited. Actually it's quite simple - how else are these famous movers and shakers going to explain a mass four-day disappearance? Far better to be up front in the beginning then to say nothing and invite intrusive snooping later.
There has been no mention of the dates for the 53rd annual Bilderberg Meeting of 2006 and subsequently, no list of this year's attendees. But to place the meetings into even more perspective, it is quite easy to find lists of last year's meeting or the year before. Keep in mind, there is no reason supplied by the Bilderbergers as to why a specific person has been invited nor will there be. They have wisely left that supposition up to the conspiracy theorists.
So let's take a look at a few of the past and current attendees to the annual Bilderberg Meetings:
-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld;
-Former US Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz;
-Henry Kissinger who helped found the Group;
-U.S. Sen. J. William Fulbright;
-Dean Acheson (Secretary of State under Truman);
-President Johnsons Under Secretary of State, George Ball
-Nelson Rockefeller
-David Rockefeller
-Kennedys Secretary of State Dean Rusk
-Gerald Ford
-Prince Philip
-Lord Louis Mountbatten
-Robert S. McNamara
-Margaret Thatcher
-Lester Pearson
-Helmut Schmidt
-Donald S. MacDonald (former Canadian Defence Minister)
-Henry Ford III
-Gen. Walter Bedell Smith (former CIA Director)
-Gen. Alexander Haig
-Michael Dukakis
-Bill Clinton
-Vice President Dan Quayle
-Conrad Black
-Raymond A.J. Chretien
-Stephane Dion
-Preston Manning
-Frank McKenna
-Paul Martin (while Minister of Finance)
-Stephen Harper (while Leader of The Opposition in 2003)
While I have presented an extensive list here, the full roster goes on for pages.
Interestingly enough, no actual proof can be found that George W. Bush ever attended a Bilderberg Meeting. The closest one can come to associating Bush with the Bilderbergs is the fact that he was visiting several Bilderberg venue cities at the time of the meetings. His name however is not on any official lists.
So where does all this leave us? Really, no further ahead then the beginning. Anyone can Google 'Bilderberg' and be provided with reams of material. But not one word in all those pages will be officially sanctioned by the Group. Because they're secret. If Paul Martin or Stephen Harper were pointedly questioned about their participation in a Bilderberg Meeting, they might affirm that they were in attendance because that is public knowledge. But they will not reveal why they were invited nor will they reveal what they discussed while behind closed doors.
This bothers me. Someone at one time coined a little phrase in an attempt to sum up the Bilderberg Group and it goes like this: The Bilderberg Group is a little clique of powerful men who meet secretly and plan..."
Scary little phrase, isn't it..

Hi Tony
I just wanted to say that I find it startling that no-one seems to have picked
up on the fact that Angela Merkel was present at this year's Bilderberg
Party.
Best wishes with all your work.

16] NATO DELEGATION VISITS KAZAKHSTAN
Robert Simmons, special representative of NATO Secretary-General Jaap De Hoop Scheffer for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, said in the course of a NATO delegation's visit to Kazakhstan on April 22 that it is "important for us that Kazakhstan has advanced and signed the Individual Partnership Action Plan with NATO," Interfax-Kazakhstan reported. Kazakh Deputy Defense Minister Bulat Sembinov noted that more than 3,000 aircraft from NATO countries and nations in the antiterrorist coalition have used Kazakhstan's airspace since the start of operations in Afghanistan. Sembinov added that coalition aircraft have made 360 emergency landings at two Kazakh airfields during this period. Sembinov also said that forces from the United Kingdom, United States, and Turkey will participate in Kazakhstan's Steppe Eagle 2006 military exercises, which will be held in September under the aegis of NATO's Partnership for Peace program. Latest reports strongly suggest Banff in Canada as the place where this year's meeting will take place - very soon - please contact Marek Tysis in Belgium for further details. It wouls help a lot if people can find ultra-posh hotels with swanky swimming pools and conferencing facilities in the Bandff area and check online for fully booked up dates! Cheers, T
Jim Tucker has heard what he believes to be good evidence that this year's conference will be in Alberta, Canada in the first two weeks of June 2006. The last conference to be held in North America was the 2002 conference at Chantilly, Virginia so it's about time the conference was back on the West side of the Atlantic again.
Leaks from the Westfields Marriott in 2002 suggested that Bilderbergers were pushing hard behind the scenes for the invasion of Iraq - roughly a year before the disasterous, illegal and bloody occupation began.
Angela Merkel, the lady with no personality but one leg each side of the fence, is going to Washington 3-4 May...so what's she doing immediately after that? Could Bilderberg be in the USA again this year?
Could the venue be the Dorint Sofitel Vital Royal Spa Seefelt (17 km from Innsbruck)? It is fully booked from 10-13 April, 18-30 May and 18-23 May and 25-28 May as well as 2-5 June 2006 - most likely date is 25-28 May
Kissinger is in Lisbon on 12 May
Possible dates: 13 to 16 April, 11 to 14 May or 25 to 28 May
Bilderberg may well meet in the Easter week, 13-16th April, somewhere
in Austria. We are screening the country around Graz, Wien and Burgerland
to find the place - please help!
This is a tip from what is believed to be a good source - as Innsbruk is of course in Austria.

Dear Tony,
I am a Bulgarian journalist who is interested in world affairs. I sometimes use your website for reference although I don't necessarily support some of your views.
I would like to share with you a piece of news that may reveal the venue of the B'06 meeting.
The Austrian Ambassador to Bulgaria Dr. Karl Diem boasted recently that his country will host a visit by US President George Bush in June. As this is the final month of Austria's EU Presidency, it may be an excuse for the other Bilderbergers to come along.
I hope my contribution will be helpful to your pursuits.
Best regards,
